Revdex.com:At this time, I have not been contacted by Value Line, Inc. regarding complaint ID [redacted].Sincerely,[redacted]

Review: I had been a long time subscriber to the Value Line Investment Survey. On July * or *, I returned a call from Value Line regarding renewing my subscription which was due to expire on July **. At that time I was told that the Value line website was being upgraded and there would soon be a price increase. I was led to believe that the website was just being updated to present a better appearance. There was no mention of any loss of features or functionality. The new website was launched the next day with a new name - [redacted]. After reviewing the new website and talking with several Value Line technical specialists, I realized that many key features that I had utilized over the years were not available on the new stock screener included in the website. Specifically, "free cash flow" and "3-5 year projected annual returns" were no longer available as screening criteria, there was no way to screen on a subset of companies, and the data could not be exported to excel. All of these features were included in the Value Line service that I had been using for the last several years. I'm sure there was other functionality eliminated but I stopped exploring the website when I realized that the new product would not meet my needs. On July **, I requested that my "renewal request" be voided since the product that I ordered was no longer being offered. I was told the request would be submitted for processing on Monday. It was not. After two additional phone calls to Value line, I received a call from the sales rep. who explained their cancellation policy - no refunds for renewals. I contend that I'm not requesting a cancellation of my renewal request but voiding the request since the product that I ordered is not available and the new offering is not an equivalent substitute. I have requestesd a written statement from Value Line documenting their position on July **. As of August *, I have received no repsonse.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of the 3 year subscription price.

[Your Answer Here]

Value Line has upgraded my account which in theory will restore most but not all of the stock screener functionality that I had previously. However, several of the features are not yet working - six weeks after the new website was launched. I will not consider this issue resolved until all of the promised features of the new website are operational.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Value Line has upgraded my account at no additional charge. However, even with the upgrade, their stock screener does not have the functionality that I need, previously had, and ordered with my subscription renewal. I haven't heard from them in weeks. I assume that they are still working on their "improved website" to restore at least some of the functionality.

Sincerely,

Review: On December *, 2013, I paid Value Line $995 for a 1 year subscription to their website. On July **, 2014, they completely changed their website, rendering it totally useless for forward-looking investors. I enjoyed the advice they gave up until that date and was very satisfied with their product/service.. At present their site is nothing resembling the service I signed up for. Its value has been reduced to less than free websites that offer the same service. This change in service is so egregious as to meet the definition of the fraudulent practice commonly know as "bait-and-switch." Value Line has not only violated consumers' trust, they have gone so far as to beg criminal prosecution.Desired Settlement: I would like a prorated refund for the price I paid for a service which no longer exists. I show that refund should reasonably be $373.13. I would advise any investor considering doing business with Value Line to be on notice their products, in their present form, are totally useless and to pursue more credible services such as [redacted]s or use the research provided by their brokerage.

Response:

We believe this customers comments to grossly misrepresent our new digital services. We have significantly upgraded our website and provided multiple tutorials and services to assist customers with navigation of the new tools.

Our [redacted] will reach out to [redacted] to personally offer assistance with his new service. At this time we do not believed refund is warranted and will wait for the response from our conversation with the customer.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

What Valueline considers an "upgrade" is actually a downgrade from their customers' point of view. They have stripped their site of all useful, pertinent information and changed it to a virtual dartboard: the customer has to research the stock themselves before inputting the results of their research to find Valueline's opinion on the specific equity. They charged me $995 12/*/13 and gutted the site in July 2014. They have rendered their entire website useless and replace it wit a weekly email which any investor can get for free in exchange for their email address. The emails from these free sites are often more timely, logical and provide better returns than those Valueline provides. I would advise any investor to avoid this site because they change the terms of subscription on a whim and a weekly email is not worth $995/year. Also, as mentioned earlier, they have reduced their site to a dartboard: if you happen to input a stock they recommend it lights up like a slot machine, as for the other 5000 listed equities the customer is on their own.

At this time, I have not been contacted by Value Line, Inc. regarding complaint ID [redacted]. It pays to check businesses AND charities with Revdex.com that covers the area of the organization you will be dealing with. I am in contact with [redacted]'s about a subscription which will hopefully not completely change the terms of the subscription midway through its term. I will be checking Revdex.com's experiences with [redacted].

Review: Please speak with the representative about my account:

I have emailed [redacted] multiple times and spoke on the phone multiple times - all for a simple change of credit card to an automatic monthly billing. Just when I think you have it straightened out, I find out differently.

Now I have received a bill in the mail and threats to send my account to collection. This is an automatic monthly payment currently being billed to my credit card. Why in the world can you not get this account straight and why am I getting threats for collection? You're getting your money every month!

I am tired of the terrible customer service Value Line has displayed with my account- get your act togetherDesired Settlement: Fix your ridiculous billing system, I'm sick of being hassled by this

Any charges due to Value Line sending to my account to collection will be responsibility of Value Line and Value Line will be held fully liable for any credit problems or downgrades as a result of the account going to collection

Sincerely,

Review: I have been a long time subscriber of Value Line Inc. (Value Line customer ID same as my e-mail address). Recently they made changes to their website, and reduced the functionality of their security screener. The functionality is so bad, that I cannot even screen for a very basic criteria like profitability (A free or cheap online screener can screen for such criteria). Not only that, they updated their service policy and the updated policy includes statement that says they cannot guarantee that functionality of their services will be available for a given period of time. If I do not agree to the updated policy, I cannot log on to my account. That means that I cannot access any of the services I have already paid for. I e-mailed them twice to resolve the issue, the last one being about a months ago, but there is no reply from Value Line. In the meantime I have not been able to log on to access the services, since I did not agree to the updated policy, which meant I am OK with their inferior services.

Actually few weeks before they made these changes to their website, they contacted me and told me that if signed for a multi-year subscription, they will offer me a discount. So I signed up for three more years (until 2017), and now they reduced the functionality of their services, and I cannot even access it, unless I agree to their new policy.Desired Settlement: What I would like them to do is restore the functionality of the screener without any additional charges to me, and also extend the subscription period for which I could not access the services (due to lack of their reply to my e-mails). If not, then I would like to request a refund.

Value Has what I have experienced a gross discrimintory business practice of refusing to treat me as a personal retail customer, but charge me the price they charge businesses soley because I am a CPA. I use their investment service for my personal investments. My CPA practice is tax preparation only. I don't do any investment services, never did and thus do not use Value Line at all in My CPA business. My subscription is even sent to my home address; yet they insist on charging me the price for businesses even though I am a retail customer. My experience and feeling is they are using hard ball marketing tactics to extort more money from their customers. I don't doubt that Value Line may have some businesses try to disguies themselves as a retail customer to save money; but I am not one of them. Value Line should be held accountable to explain this rigid unfair business practice. I have been using the service for about 25 years. Thank you for the opportunity to bring this you the attention of the Revdex.com.

Review: I was sent 3-5 offers in the mail to purchase Value Line Investment Survey publication for one year for $299. I signed up on line and paid with my credit card. No questions were asked about my employment. Later I got a call and was told that the subscription would cost over $1500 because of the company I work for. (I am not involved with my company's investment area and was purchasing this for personal use.) I said that I was not interested in the product at that price and would like a refund. They said that it is not their policy to refund the money. They would give me a partial year subscription. I said that was not acceptable, I want a refund. They refused.

Since they were not willing to honor their offer, they should refund the $299. I have made several calls and now they will not return my calls.

Furthermore, I have not even gotten a few months of the publication like they said I would.Desired Settlement: I would like them to refund the $299.

Review: Same complaint reported by another customer. VL sends solicitations for a subscription at a reduced rate. They allow their system to process and accept your subscription online. Later they call and say you are ineligible for the rate and refuse to provide the subscription and refuse to provide a refund. This is clearly fraudulent advertising and has to be illegal. I will also file a complaint with the FTC and other appropriate regulators.Desired Settlement: Stop fraudulent advertising. Provide a refund. This is clearly an ongoing scam.
