Review: We purchase this house from Vanmetre in Aug.2013. They installed SOD in our lawn. We took care of this lawn very passionately. We hire a professional lawn care company but, even after treatment it did not show significant improvement as promised. The weed goes with treatment but came back after few months. Then we decide to take care of our self. We apply various treatments to get better lawn but again no improvement. I consult with some lawn care people & they suggested that I need to replace the SOD because they think the installed SOD contains too much weed. My home was the first home built on the street & none of the other homes having this much weed in their lawn. I called Vanmetre on numerous times about lawn issues. We kept applying treatments & polluting our environment. Instead I requested them to replace my lawn with good quality of SOD because the SOD installed was not of good quality. Now they refuse to replace the SOD instead they offer me for a free treatment in next month. I do not want more chemicals on my property. I want them to replace Sod & since it’s a corner lot I also want them to replace a 4 to 5ft wide common land adjoining to my property otherwise my lawn will be polluted again.

September 18, 2014We would like to respond to a recent complaint made to the Revdex.com from one of our valued homeowners regarding his sod. Upon receiving the initial complaint from the homeowner several months ago, our construction manager promptly visited the home to inspect the lawn. Our construction manager's finding was that the sodded lawn was under-watered. He recommended that the homeowner water more frequently and apply fertilizer twice a year.During the course of the past year, the construction manager visited the home multiple times to inspect the lawn and came to the same conclusion every time. On two particular occasions, the construction manager replaced portions of the lawn with fresh, new sod. Within weeks, this new grass was dead as well.We encourage and enable our homeowners to properly maintain, water and fertilize their lawn. We understand that in some instances, the homeowner may fail to do so, and in those instances we seek to remediate and assist the homeowner in a timely manner to prevent further damage. As such, even though this homeowner is outside of our limited warranty period, we will continue to monitor and correspond with him to ensure that he is taking the proper steps to rectify his dying lawn.Finally, the sod is provided by our landscaping contractors, who have longstanding relationships with some of the finest sources of sod along the east coast. This house was provided sod from those same sources. With that said, sod must be maintained in order for it to grow properly. Therefore, we provide each homeowner with the attached material at the time of settlement to assist with caring for their lawn.Van Metre Homes
