you. In you complaint it is implied that we receive this propane back from you for free and are able to then double bill it by selling it to the next customer. To be clear, please understand that we incur an expense of approximately $150 (truck and operator expense) for removing a tank from a customers location when we have advance notice and can schedule the task in advance and complete the pickup without overtime hours and out of route miles. with the approximate 70 gallons that was left in your tank our cost for that propane would be over $2/gallon if we picked it up under normal circumstances with reasonable advance notice. In this case we were only given one days notice and were still able to accommodate your needs allowing you to move your trailer over the weekend. Because of the short notice we incurred minor overtime expense even though our scheduling did have us in the area keeping vehicle expense minimal. If we then refunded a customer (purchased the propane back) for an additional $1.899 per gallon the cost of propane would escalate to almost $4/gallon. It is because of these economics that the majority of propane companies, ours included, let our customers know up front that there is no refund for unused propane. It is always our hope that the tank is able to be left with a minimum amount of propane but we do understand that there are circumstances when this is not possible. I hope that you might withdraw your complaint with this short explanation.
