Continuing to receive bills, late fees and threats to turn over the account to collections, in spite of the fact that we are no longer customers.On January 12th, 2015, I contacted this company and asked if they could please send someone to read the gauge on my gas tank. We had been using our gas heater for quite a while but the gauge still read full. We had plans to terminate service with this company when the tank was empty, due to dissatisfaction with their pricing. The company agreed to send someone out to read the gauge. The next day, upon returning home, I found a bill attached to my door, stating that Vanderveer Gas had refilled my tank. I immediately called the company and told them that I had not asked for the tank to be refilled due to the fact that I was terminating service. I asked that they come and remove their tank, and told them I would not be purchasing the gas they had added to the tank. I spoke to someone named "[redacted]", and he was very rude, telling me that he would not be able to come get the tank until spring because he was "too busy". I then informed him that we had already contracted with another company for gas service and that they would be disconnecting Vanderveer's tank and setting it aside in order to install their own propane tank at my home. "[redacted]" then told me that I would be calling him back in a year or two asking to set up service with them again because they were "the best". I again told him I was terminating service with their company and would send them a written notice reflecting that decision, and that I was not under any obligation to purchase gas I had not ordered. (We were on the plan where gas is only delivered at the customer's request - which we did NOT do.) The letter was sent and dated 1-13-15.Since that time, we have continued to receive bills with late fees added, and letters threatening to turn us over to collections if we did not pay. In spite of repeated phone calls, and on one occasion an in-person visit to the store, we continue to receive these bills, even though the company informs us each time that it was a mistake and they will "take care of it".As of this date, they still have not corrected their error and the unsightly tank is still sitting, disconnected, next to our home (which is against HOA rules).We would like Vanderveer Gas to zero out our account and remove their tank from our premises.Desired SettlementWe would like Vanderveer Gas to zero out our account and remove their tank from our premises.

I have been asking this company for 5 months to remove the tanks off of my properties (2) and refund me my money.Last winter I received very poor customer service. Vanderveer was suppose to auto deliver my gas and did not. This caused my tank to run out and expel black soot all over my house. When they finally did deliver me gas they charged me almost double of what the current rate of gas was. I told them that I was very dissatisfied with their service and would be closing my two accounts. In June they sent me a bill for a tank lease and I asked the to come remove their tanks from my properties. Since then they are sending me late notices every month and 5 months later still have not removed the tanks from my properties and refunded me my money. My homes are in a gated community with association rules and I am not in compliance with the tanks sitting on my lawn. The association will fine me shortly if these tanks are not removed.Desired SettlementI would like the business to remove the tanks from my property within 14 days. Refund me the entire amount of gas that is in the tanks at the rate I paid for it last winter.Business Response Both tanks have been picked up from customer location, in the past we have tried on 2 different occasions to pick up tanks, but guards at gate would not allow us in. Once all paper work is turned it and it will be processed. I am sorry the customer had to wait but in part we had tried to pick up earlier. The letter received said this was the second notification, this is the first we have received Consumer Response VanDerveer always enters our gates to make gas deliveries to their current customers so at no time would they be turned away from the gate. They also are making no mention to refunding our money at this time. I am still receiving a bill every month dated from back in June when I asked them to discontinue our service. I do not want the case to be closed until I am refunded my money.
