$6,500 was deposited into her account, Ms. [redacted] requested a wire transfer to China, at one of our Phoenix branch locations.Vantage West is vigilant in our attempts to protect our members from becoming victims of fraud schemes, that, I'm sure you are aware of, are on the rise.The pattern of activity on Ms. [redacted] account alerted our wire room, and after investigation it was discovered that the electronic deposit of $6,500 was in the name of an individual that Ms. [redacted] did not know. Ms. [redacted] indicated that she needed to wire these funds to her fiance, who she has not yet met.The 6,500 was returned to the sending bank in accordance with [redacted] procedures.This information has been provided to Ms. [redacted].Should you have any questions in this regard , please contact me at ###-###-####.
