Review: The work that was completed was not acceptable. Drywall cuts were poor. Framing was fairly acceptable, but there were areas where the contractor cut corners to save money with the framing. The contractor had no respect for the property. Trash was left for the homeowner to trip over or pick up himself. The contractor did not use plastic to protect finished areas of the house. The contractor stored material for other jobs at the homeowners property without consent. The contractor parked his trailer in the homeowners driveway, causing us to park around the corner and walk around the block with three kids, which was fine during the day, but he left the trailer over night several times. The contractor collected payment for services not yet completed. Ultimately the contractor breached the contract by taking on new work before returning to finish our job. There were some delays that he was excused for, while other work that he was not responsible for was in progress, but there were other delays that he was not excused for. He stopped responding to texts or calls. He communicated no plan to return to finish the work. The contract was terminated after 3 weeks of uncommunicative behavior.Desired Settlement: We need to be reimbursed for the payment that he collected for work not yet completed. The total payment amount is $6113.55h

Dear [redacted], Thank you for trying to reach out to me and your concern based to a customer's complain. for the past 30 years my company has achieved an excellency, in customers satisfactory, with high standards, in services of interior and exterior remodeling. Unfortunately you can pick and choose your customers, neither no matter how hard you try to please them, they should thank you for it. Mr. [redacted] is an unusual type of customer, My company started renovating the basement as per contract. Our contract, was left with home owner for a period of time of two weeks for reviewing and signing, (if) agreed. Copy of Contract and deposit was dropped off. As the job startet, Home owner decided, to look for more prices , and argue the total of our contrack .Also asked the crew to leave, as he can continued work. Still no permits, as himself, and other friends, started, demo and remodel all the plumbing - heating-Electrical -Audio Video, among the framing of a new walls- Spackle- and floor tiles. I repeatedly remind home owner, that should get permits before job been stopped. Not to long after work was stopped by the Building inspector, and home owner ( Mr. [redacted]) received a fine. My Co. was forced to start another job, In [redacted] NJ, with another beautiful job done and a very happy home owner. six weeks went by, with no call or any updates to the status of the inspections, but asked, my Co. to call. plumber inspector, to complete inspections.Home owner request, for my Co. to leave the job I was on and start back, Was not possible, this is not what my Co's ensembles are all about. One customer at the time. As my Co, refused to do so, he created all type of stories between him and his lawyer. Not too long after, he visited my residence and start dropping all type of materials, except the ones he needed. Police made a report for that, a week after the he approach my residence, and threaten my wife that he will take the house away from her and my kids. Police made an additional report on file. Driving to work his lawyer called my cell and threaten me that its my job to pull a permit and he could let it go unless I pay $13,000.00. I will let you figure my expression (the public). Two days after as I was visiting my lawyer to go over all this I received an additional call from his lawyer informing me that his client is dropping from $13,000.00 to $9000.00 and he suggested that, that is the best that he could do, and again I am letting you the public to figure my expression. The update on this case for now is up to my lawyers which unfortunately I cannot expose to the public. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and I wish good luck to all the small business contractors out there. Alexios N, Varko Home Improvements, INC.

I am rejecting this response because:1. Varko misrepresents facts in order to make his story more palatable.2. I paid him 11,500 dollars and all I have is a little framing and incomplete insulation and sheet rock. 3. He requested 75% of the total payment and has only completed 35% of the workers, and refuses to give a refund.4. He routinely lies about the permit discussion. He told my wife and I, "I know the inspector, I have done work at his house, if he comes I will send him away. You don't need a permit."5. After I paid the fine for work without a permit, and I passed all my inspections, Varko and I set a date to commenced work again. On this date he did not show up and did not answer his phone. I left messages, I texted him, I never received any word from him. I had every reason to suspect he was trying to take my money.6. He called the police on me, for telling his wife the truth. I did not approach her, she came onto my in laws property. He likes to mention this police report as an attempt to obscure his fault, and it is quite irritating. If you read the report the incident is documented with nothing of note. Anyone can call the police, he chooses to do so because he thinks it will help him gain leverage on me.

Response:

We're very disappointed, the way, this home owner feels, and uses any kind of lies to make our Co. look unfair to the public. Our Records, shows, at all North Jersey's County's, the excellent stand, with Revdex.com as A+, Shows that, home owner wishes, and are looking forward to have our Co. serve them. We looking forward to enlarge Varkos Members and working close with all the community, to improve their neighbors, with a quality of workmanship and excellence. Thank you Owner of Varko Home improvements,Inc.Alexios N

Dear [redacted].An offer was made on the behalf of my Co. to continue work and complete the project, soon he said that had complete all of his inspections,he refused, my co, had complete up to sheet rock installation, the day his town stopped the work. All the payments that was made, complete the second phase, of work. There is an additional balance to our contract for the completion of the rest of the work. unfortunately, and with all the respect, we very disappointed that the project is uncompleted.Thank you Best regards Owner/ Alexios N
