Review: I booked a wedding for 08-**-2015. The whole amount was paid. We sat down with the Manager and went over our concerns for food. We went over it a few times, and stressed to her that the food must not have any pork due to my religion which is Muslim. All my family and friends are Muslim and it is against our religion to eat pork and shameful. Going over the food, cocktail hour, menu, etc. She put in CAPS, NO PORK. Also, in my contract states NO PORK. During cocktail hour, there was a big dish of all pork. My family and friends did not know and put it in there plates and some of them ate it. I then realized people leaving during cocktail hour. After everything, I lost 60 guests out of 136 because of them getting offended. My father spoke with them right away and told them to take it out. My wedding was ruined. They did not even replace it with something else or even an apology.

2nd: I lost time because they had another party they had to clean up and/or set up my party. Cocktail hour was supposed to begin from 7-8pm. The guests were called in at 7:30pm. Reception was supposed to be 8pm-12am. They braught whatever guests I had in at 8:50pm.

3rd: Service was not so good. I always had to search for my Matr' D. They were not so organized.

4th: On the main course Menu card, they misspelled my wifes name, which is embarrassing.Desired Settlement: I want a refund for my loss on guests, as well as times lost.

Review: I had booked a wedding reception for the date of 10/**12. I booked this event two years in advance in December of 2010. I made three payments via personal check in the amounts of $2,000, $2,500 and $2,000 which were all deposited by The Venetian Yacht Club venue and cleared. In September of 2011, I had to cancel this event. [redacted] was my representative and instructed me to mail a letter of cancellation, which I did. My event was cancelled and he was going to take care of my refund. My cancellation was 13 months in advance and I had never talked to a wedding planner, visited the venue a second time or had a tasting. In essence, I had my name in the system with $6500 paid to Venetian Yacht Club, and no services rendered. After getting literally no response from [redacted] regarding a refund, I finally just called and asked for anyone else to help. I was directed at that time to [redacted]. Felicia was responsive only after leaving her multiple messages. She finally arranged 2 payments in the amount of $1,500 each, issued in September of 2012 and October of 2012. This was a full year after my cancellation. I was told by Felicia at that time I would receive the remaining payments in November and December. That was the last I heard from Felicia and The Venetian Yacht Club. I attempted to contact the General Manager of The Venetian Yacht Club and the receptionist declined to connect me, did not allow me to leave a message and would not give me the name of the General Manager. She claimed that this information was somehow confidential. I was a paying customer and could not even reach the General Manager to file my complaint of the lack of service rendered. At this time I enlisted a legal firm to compile a complaint letter and send a Demand Letter to The Venetian Yacht Club. We received no response from the venue or acknowledgement of the letter.Desired Settlement: The Venetian Yacht club is responsible for refunding the remaining balance of $3,500.

Sincerely,

Review: We were scheduled to get married and had made a reservation at the Venetian yacht club for our wedding. We made the required amount of payments plus more than was required . In total, we paid 9,000 dollars toward the event. my fiancé got pregnant and we were unable to proceed as scheduled because of the expenses to have the baby. we contacted the Venetian 5 months before the event, and asked to cancel the wedding .

We were told that if we cancel, we would lose the entire $9,000

they said that our only choice was to reschedule the wedding , which incurred a $1500 penalty, which we paid. ( our balance was now $7500). We rescheduled the wedding to November 2016 in hopes that our financial situation would improve

However our situation is not improving and we can't afford to proceed with the wedding. the wedding is still a little over 12 months away

The contract with Venetian stated that if they are able to re book the date that we would be able to get our money back

Meanwhile my nephew got engaged and liked the Venetian yacht club and agreed to take over our wedding date and fulfill the contract in our place. However when he approached the people with this, they flatly refused to allow him to take the date , even though his party was larger , and would have caused no problems for the venetian. He ended up booking a day 2 weeks later. The general manager was not even made aware of our request to substitute my nephews party for ours.

Now the Venetian is saying that we breached the contract by canceling , and I say that they breached the contract by not allowing my nephew to re book the day instead of us. The party is one year away. I should be reimbursed my deposit , which was far more money than was required to be paid at that point . Since we made extra payments earlier

Why should we lose $7500 when the event was still 12 plus months away

This is not the way that customers should be treatedDesired Settlement: We just want our deposit back

Review: I booked my daughters wedding approx a year and a half ago. She picked May [redacted] 2015. We left a 3k deposit and paid the Venetian Yacht club $1000.00 every month. That was agreed upon deposit. Ufortunetly, we had to cancel the wedding because of personal unforseen matters. We cancelled it approx 7mths before the wedding was suppose to take place. I sent them a certified letter as per Venetian Yacht Club accountant [redacted] telling them the wedding has been called off. After countless phone calls speaking with [redacted] and [redacted] they wont refund me any of my money back. I understand we signed a contract and its a business. I also understand not getting a full refund, however, in good faith I would think they would be reasonable and refund me at least half of what I paid them. My payments were never late. All I am asking is that they refund me a fair amount. I paid them in total of twelve thousand dollars. I didnt recieve anyting for twelve thousand dollars. I dont feel its fair they keep all of my hard earned money and not give me something back. Again I have made numerous calls to the venue and no one seems to want to help me . Again, I understand my husband and myself signed a contract with the Venetian Yacht club, however, sometimes thing happen out of your control. We are only asking that they treat us fairly with some type of refund. Twelve thousand dollars is alot of money to loose without getting anything for it.Desired Settlement: I am requesting half the amount which would be six thousand dollars.
