I have a gut feeling I am the victim of a bait-and-switchWas lured into using this company via a low-ball offer on LivingSocial ($for $service - Air duct cleaning package included unlimited supply vents, one main duct, and one return vent)Service techs show up over an hour after the end of the scheduled windowThe big-smiled tech #and I walk around the house, he's noting more main ducts (or in total) and return vents (or in total), and notes that I have furnacesHe tries to sell me on cleaning the furnaces for approx $total, $for a "dis-infectant" and then all the additional main ducts and ventsAll told, he was asking me to pony up over $I refused the furnace and disinfectant services, and ended up with a $estimate (in addition to the $already spent)He graciously offered me a 10% "late arrival" discount, and accepted $400, if I paid in cashAll this time, tech #is racing around the house It appears like they did do a lot of work, however it was all done in about hours (I have a two story, sq ft house)I questioned the use of the shop-vac (guess what I'll be buying soon)When they were ready to leave, I checked a couple of the vents, sure enough they weren't clean like advertised they would beThey could tell I called their **, and did all the vents again, which took about more minutesAnyway, Squeaky Duct Cleaning company doesn't exist, website on LivingSocial deal doesn't work (cleaningvent.com does - can you get any more generic?), and there is no physical address listed on the invoiceI had to request it and Tech #gave me South Alder Street, Philadelphia, PAChecked on Google Maps - listed as location for Air PalNo way to confirm whether or not I got hosed, pun intended, unless I can procure a flexible camera to view deep into the ducts

Review: On 12/16/14 we had your company come out to service/clean our fireplace.

This initially ordered from a groupon. Paid a certain amount.

When they came out they charged an addition amount because it was a two story fireplace instead of a single story.

Made the mistake of paying before the tech did the work so my husband could go to work.

This is the letter I sent them and never heard back from them.

The Chimney Sweep/technician called and said he would be there at noon. He showed up 2 hours later. When I went to check on the him, I walked into a room with a black cloud. Hours later every surface/object in my living room, kitchen, dining room. center hall, banister, upstairs landing and a bathroom up stairs was covered in soot. Included a brand new white couch and white chair and an antique dining room set. All the wrapped Christmas gifts in the corner of the room had to be clean or rewrapped. I can rant on and on but you get my point. I am FURIOUS. Every item had to be cleaned. I have taken off work to clean this mess, and it has taken us two days to do it.

I have had my chimney cleaned many times over the years and never have we had a mess like this. The chimney sweep did not cover the carpet, and it’s a mess. There are stains the vacuum can’t get up. I can’t sit without getting black on my clothes. The poor cat has had an asthma attack.

You should be ashamed to send an unqualified chimney sweep/technician out. Sorry for the long note but I want to get across how unhappy I am with this service and all the work it’s causing especially right before my family arrives for the holidays.

You need to train this technician on how to do his job.

I will be sending all this info to the Revdex.com for their advice on what I should do next.Desired Settlement: I want money for my credit card ($49.00), and the cash we paid ($70.00), and for our two days of cleaning the soot ($200.00)

Review: I purchased a [redacted] to have Vent Clean come out and clean one return, one main duct, unlimited vents, and the dryer vent. I was not told when I booked the appointment that I needed to purchase additional services other than what was included. The deal also did not state that additional services were mandatory. The person who came to my house would not perform the services that I purchased except for cleaning the dryer vent, and he did not clean up any of the lint that fell onto the front lawn. He and his supervisor claimed that he could not perform the services that I purchased unless I spent an additional $200 for all of the returns in the house. I told them that I just wanted what I purchased cleaned, and this was not an option. Vent Clean marked my deal as redeemed, so I would be unable to return it and just pay for the dryer vent. I still had to pay $25 extra because the person who cleaned my dryer vent claimed it was 11 ft long, although he did not measure it. I felt as though I was pressured to purchase additional services, and I felt like they were trying to overcharge me.Desired Settlement: I want the company to clean up the mess they left since I had to pay extra, or I want a refund.
