Review: I purchased my ticket to go to Nigeria 4 months prior to departure date. Ticket purchase Nov *, 2014 for departure Feb. **, 2015. I have spent more than 1,000 dollars on items for this trip. I have paid my bills double since I was leaving for 3 weeks including used unnecessary vacation time from work that I am unable to get back.

The complaint:

I went to JFK airport (coming from Philadelphia, PA) to depart with arik airs to Nigeria on Feb **, 2015. However when I got to the airport appx 1 hr later an attendant asked which airlines I was waiting for. When I told him he asked for me to come to the customer service counter. It was there that I learned of the cancellation. They also showed me the email that they sent to Venture Travel Network more than 2 weeks ago of this cancellation, which Venture failed to notify me especially since I was traveling from PA to the airport in NY. I have been calling Venture Travel Network since Saturday and today is Monday and still no one has answered their telephone. I sent more than 4 emails already starting on Saturday and still no response. The airlines automatically reset my travel to Thursday but the problem is a paid for 3 wks stay in Nigeria which now its being reduced to 2 wks stay although no money was compensated. The airlines told me that I must talk to the agency since it was purchased from Venture. Please assist as no one responded to me at all.Desired Settlement: It is almost impossible for me to extend my stay since I have many responsibility here in the US. And the airlines already rebooked for next departure but they can extend since I did not purchase from them. I don't think this matter will be resolved by Thursday so reluctantly I am going to Nigeria because Im now losing out on the service I paid for. I do feel as though this company owes me a free round ticket to Nigeria for this year.
