Review: I pay my power every two months due to how I get paid. I have been paying my power since 2008 and never got the power shut off. I work out of town and often travel. I paid my bill CURRENT on july 21. They shut my power off on sept 17 not even 60 days! I didn't get the notice on my door because I was out of town. There was woman and children in the house with out power.....they are scared and worried. We cannot afford the extra fees.

They would NOT take payments.... the kids and mother will have to suffer without power, unless full payment

They would NOT take regular payment... fees must be included... or the mother and kids will have to freeze at night

They would NOT understand, even when we BEGGED and asked for help...Must have full amount with new fees.

They take advantage of their customers because CUSTOMERS CANNOT SWITCH POWER PROVIDERS.

They take advantage of their customers because THEY DONT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS OR CUSTOMER SERVICE...

Yes, they are so awful, they tell their customers, "if you don't like our customer servicedon't ... you can MOVE" quote from manager at Vera.

People who profit off other people pain, what a terrible business. And I have no choice but to "MOVE" or "Go without power" or pay an evil company who would rather turn the lights and heat off on children and mother, than reduce the fees, or even take payments.

UNETHICAL, UNPROFESSIONAL, IMPROPERDesired Settlement: Turning the lights off on women and children (and knowing) without even considering payments or reduce fees is pathetic, dishonest, and an ABUSE OF POWER. Vera should be ashamed of its "Policy". If only the public knew how Vera profits on customers downfalls,(without the willingness to work with customers).

I literally BEGGED and ASKED FOR HELP. NOPE.

Please change your "don't like it, you can MOVE" policy

Please change your "unwillingness to take payments, or reduce shutoff fee" policy

Please make public announcement of policy change

Apology to our family for unprofessional, unethical, and improper policy and customer service.

As this complaint contained statements that may require a legal response and has been forwarded to our legal counsel, we will be unable to provide any further comment in this forum.

Review: Vera practices unfair collecting on low income familys. They sent me a 10 day notice for $2.25. It says they will send a shutoff notice I never got. They then charged me 20.00 for a "door hangar" I never got. Then they send out a bully bill collector who stood outside yelling"you got my money!!you got my money?!?" Totally unprofessional. Then they charged me 20.00 for this guy coming out. my bill was 40.00 and is now 126.00. Ive been to urgent care for the poor quality of water. They have sent out at least 3 notices of their water being contaminated.Desired Settlement: I want 500.00 for the pain and suffering by their poor quality water. I have doctor tests. I also want 40.00 returned for the "door hangar" I never seen.

I have reviewed the data that has resulted in Mr. [redacted] filing this complaint and found the following:

1. All approved policies, statues and regulations were followed in collecting Mr. [redacted]’s delinquent bill.

2. Each of the notices provided information fully explaining each step of the process.

3. Mr. [redacted] was not charged with any fees that were not properly assessed to cover the cost of collecting his unpaid bill.

4. None of the notices regarding the water indicated that there were any known water quality issues, only that there were tests indicating that there were non-harmful bacteria present. No test ever indicated the presence of any harmful substance of any kind. If you need any additional information please let me know.

Again no blue hanger was left. If there was never a blue hangar why would I pay you for something that never happened? The water quality is poor and I just happened to get sick when your pipe burst on the road and who knows what came through that pipe after it broke. Also the letter sent out verifies the date at the same time I was in urgent care. Unfair business practice of basically stating to customers"thats how it is" and trying to collect at every angle on low income people. Never proof nor full explanation. If you can PROVE you dropped a hangar for 20.00 let me see it. If you can PROVE that there no problem when your water pipe burst let me see it.

Thank you for the updated customer complaint. At this time we have answered the policy and procedure issues that have been raised. That information exchange is appropriate in this venue and we appreciate your efforts to resolve this issue. The current claims by the unsatisfied customer have reached the point where it has become legal in nature and would require calling witnesses, legal opinions as to evidence sufficiency, medical opinions as to safety and probably state officials in water delivery. It appears to me that we have exhausted this venue for the resolution of the issue and to protect our legal position we must decline any further involvement at this time. Again, thanks for your efforts in this matter.
