VG Appliance Repair & Install Reviews (17)

Review: Contacted this company to repair a Samsung refrigerator in January of 2014. They came out immediately, I was told they needed to order parts then come back to finish the repair. The total cost quoted was $296.88 and they required a deposit of $210.00. I wrote a check and they said they would be back that next Friday. They never showed, I made multiple follow up appointments without anyone every showing up for the appointment. I asked that I be refunded the deposit and to cancel any repair orders pending, which it had been so long they didn't have any for us. I was told we would recieve a check for the return deposit amount, and as of 4/11/14 have not recived anything from them. Multiple calls, to the supposed owner, have been left un-returned, and their main company phone number is no longer reachable.Desired Settlement: I would like the deposit payment returned as I was told it would be.

Review: Victor Gutierrez and his company are scam not a business. This guy uses several business names to elude customers. Please read details below.

Victor Gutierrez does not perform job as promise. He changed the door below of my washing machine and I paid $130 for parts and labor but it did not work at all and started leaking when I used. I asked him to come to fix it and he promised to come but never shows up, I waited for them at home even without going office but does not come and does not answers the phone when I call. He has already done that couple of times then I found that he has been doing this to many customers. I called his number 408-841-2826 at least 10 times and other number which is in the invoice 209-607-0619 but no body responses.

He also told me that he changed the EVAP motor of my refrigerator on the same day and when I asked where was my original motor, he told me that he already put that in to his car. I didn't believe it as I was just right there eating lunch and he did it so quick (within 10 min without telling me) so I asked him that I want to see it, then he brought and gave me a motor from his car but when I unscrew and check it, I later found that it was not the motor of Samsung RF268 so basically he totally cheated.

Victor Gutierrez and his company are scam not a business. This guy uses several business names to elude customers. For example they have below info in Revdex.com:

Appliance Repair

(XXX) XXX-XXXX

2162 E 4th St, Stockton, CA XXXXX-XXXX

Principal: Victor Gutierrez (Owner)

but license name is VG APPLIANCE REPAIR & INSTALL

and license number 45985 in DCA which has been already expired.

However, the name in the invoice is 'Appliance Repair and Install' and has different address.

Desired Settlement: Full refund for EVAP motor $121.66, Service fee refund for Washing machine $40. Lost wages due to false promise $300, did not show up two times.

Review: We contracted VG Appliance Repair & Install to fix our Maytag dryer. They started the work and did not return to finish. We paid them over $200.00 and they cashed the checks and did not come back to finish the job, they said they were waiting for the part to come in. I have tried to call them several times and they do not pick up the phone or return phone calls when I have left several messages.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the money that we paid them, since the work was not completed.

Review: My daughter found this business on the internet. She called them and said that they were going to send someone to fix my stove. The technician by the name [redacted] came by and told my wife to write a check for the parts so he can order them. He came back couple days after with the parts but told my wife that she wrote the check wrong. She wrote another one and he said the company will mail the first one. This rookie of a technician didn't even fix the stove and said his boss will be by to fix it. Don't fall for these guys!! They took advantage of us and my pregnant daughter. Later to find out they are on the RIPOFF REPORT!!After they take your money they dont pick up their phones..Someone needs to put a stop to these THIEVES!!Desired Settlement: I would like the first check that I wrote to them to be refunded because they cashed both. They know exactly for the amount.

Review: We needed repairs on our Maytag washer...We found their add as a local for Patterson..We called them and they promptly send a Technician who diagnosed the problem as a bad motor. He asked for money up front and we gave him a check for $215.66 advance for parts. They promised to come back in a couple of days...Kept postponing it and never showed up...We have called them several times [redacted]8..Finally they offered to give us back a full refund..We have not heard from them since...They told us that they will give us a tracking number...for the refund check...they never called....They have given us different names..From [redacted], and the latest Scott...All claiming to be the owner...Businesses like this should be prosecuted and closed.Desired Settlement: We would like our money back...We are on SSS Pensions and every penny counts..

Response:

Dear sir/madam

You most probably get a claim from VG appliances that my complaint has been resolved…This to my opinion is not entirely so. Allow me to explain..After three days of hounding him, trying to collect, jamming his mail box…He finally answered and said he was going to refund my money..This action of his was perpetuated with FALSE registered mail tracking numbers…I did not stop hounding him and even reported the incident to the Patterson Police Dept. Finally, the day before yesterday I received a check of $165.66. which cleared the bank. He claimed he retained $50.00..for the service call he did. Considering the inconvenience he put me thru, the fact till today, I have been without a Washing Machine now since the 8th. plus the fact that his diagnosis of the problem was wrong. I had Sears look at the Washing Machine and they told me that the motor was working, and it was the mounting that went bad, causing the belts to slip and that was what was originally wrong. VG Appliance mere poked a flash light underneath and claimed that the motor was burnt. This is identical to the other complaints I read about this firm…They commit you to something and keep coming back for more and more. Their FIX does not work the first time. Sears estimate, was close to $450…in parts, Making it not worth fixing. I in turn had to buy one for $750…which is comparable to my old one. The fact that thru all this days, he has given me false names.[redacted], [redacted], etc. I am more convinced he is not a legitimate business but a Scam artist. I believe he should be barred from conducting any business…He is now advertising again as a local business serving Patterson…Since my Housemate and I are both retired, we had the time to pursue this case….This man, [redacted], I believe is nothing but a scam artist and should have to face justice….As far as we are concerned, The case is not resolved, not because we have not received the full amount, but because he is still allowed to operate and scam people…

Thanks for looking into this

As I mentioned in my email to you, Stating that although I received, a partial amount from VG appliances says of $165.66...my purpose in pursuing this is not the remaining $50/ retained by [redacted], but to try to put a stop to his scamming business. Allow me to separate fiction from fact.(1) When he came over, with a flash light he tipped over half-way the washing machine and told us the Motor was burnt. Since I am disabled I assumed the motor was visible from there...It is not. The Tech from Sears had to remove the front panel of the machine to view the motor...The burnt smell was from the belts slipping...the machine worked hence the belts slipped because the motor MOUNTS were broken. Replacing the motor on faulty mounts would not work...additional parts would have been needed...the estimate of Sears was well over $400. making the diagnosis and estimate of VG, False. (2) After, he left we told us that the part would be available in the coming Tuesday, He never showed up and when I called him repeatedly, he kept postponing it for Tomorrow, keeping us dangling, Finally, I was fed up and asked for a refund. He then no longer answered the Phone. My wife got thru to him and he said he would come for sure the next day (Saturday)..He was a no show, when we called, the message from his answering machine was that his business was closed and his Technicians were in training and to leave a message and he would call back....He never did. That's when I decided to call him every 10 minutes and leave a message as he would not answer... (3) Finally he did answer the phone and he promised my wife, he would refund us the ENTIRE AMOUNT of $215.66....and we demanded he sent it to us by registered mail...He said he would and he would send us a tracking number...He never did. (4) Again, I called him over and over again, until his mailbox was full..Then finally he answered....He gave me this tracking number [redacted]...I Checked with the post office and This was not a legitimate tracking number. (5) Again, I called him till his mailbox was full....(6) Hi finally answered and told me (When I asked) that he made a mistake and gave me another number...I asked him from What Post Office and he told me Merced, I checked, No such number. Later on I found out he mailed it from ATWATER...It Arrived the Afternoon of the 19Th...registered mail would not take that long. Although his check was dated on the 15th...When I called him the 14th and 15th, His message In the answering machine was again that his business was closed because his technicians were in Training. After, I cashed his check in the afternoon of the 19th, I never called him back....

Now for some fiction.(1) .I never told him I was a COP...but I told him I would turn it over to the Patterson Police Dept. and The Revdex.com (which I did) You can check with the Patterson Police. (2) I never told him I was a lawyer, but in response to him telling me he would sue me, I said "I too could avail myself of a lawyer and would welcome a confrontation in court. (and I still do). I have read the other complaints filed with your office and recognize the same pattern....He is a scammer and a fraud and should be prosecuted or at least put out of business. The $50/ he has kept is not longer important to me....what is..is the fact that he is trying to get away with a scam....He is now (again) advertising that his business is legit. From another complaint I read his BEAR number is false, I too tried to verify that and could not get a verification either...if he does have, it should be revoked.

I went to the Patterson Police, after the Patterson Post Office told me that the Tracking number he gave me was FALSE...Being disabled and retired, I had all the time in the world to fill up his mailbox...I figured at least if I did not get my money back, I would try to stop him from scamming others. If it were not for this fact, I do not believe we would ever have got some of our money....I do hope the Revdex.com could do something and put these scammers out of business. Times are hard and it is painful to see people loss their hard earned pensions on scams like this. I checked all the places he claimed he had branches including the one in Clovis and found out that they no longer exist...He works off a Cell Phone....

Incidentally, This may not be related, but too much of a coincidence...An attempt to break in our house while we were Washing Machine hunting occurred, but was scarred of by our Alarm system....

Thank you for your help in this matter....

Review: We hired this company to repair our dishwasher. We went online to find a Fisher & Paykel licensed repair man and this company came up. I gave them a call and they gave me a call and told me that they could come out the next day, I rearranged my schedule and waited all day they never came or called. When they finally came they said that it could be repaired we paid for the parts, a new motor and control board. That took two weeks and when they finally returned with the parts, it still didn't work. They said that it was probably a faulty control board and that they would order a new one at no cost to us. That was a feat in itself as after this it was all just phone calls from my part. They never called to say that they had the part or that they were coming. In the end they said they would refund our money and I called them and they told me that they would pass the information on to the person who dealt with refunds but it never came and that was three months ago. When I tried to find their information on the internet, the website was gone and all I could find was information telling me not to call these guys for repairs, but no address to go and talk to, to get our money back.Desired Settlement: We would like a full refund of what we paid them $348.88

Review: VG Appliance "fixed" my washer and dryer the first week of January, 2014. I paid $333 to have them fixed, which neither was. The repairman who worked on them told me that, "the leaking washer was now fixed and that he ran it through 2 cycles just to be sure". He did not have time to run even 1 cycle and he never turned the water to the washer back on prior to running the cycle. The dryer still made the sound I was paying to have repaired, so he said he would send over his supervisor. Supervisor never called to say when he was coming and left a note on my front porch. I called several time for several weeks, and when someone finally returned my call he said, "just got your message". (which one did he receive out of the 20 calls?!) My washer continued to leak. This went on until the end of February, when someone finally called me back and stated that they were going to send me a refund by registred mail. That was 3 weeks ago, and I have still not received my refund check, nor have they returned my continuous phone calls. In the meantime, I had another repairman come look at my washer and was told that the part VG Appliance replaced had nothing to do with the leak and that, in fact, the problems with my washer were too severe/expensive to warrant. In my messages to [redacted], I told them to come get their useless parts if they needed them for the refund, but never received a response.Desired Settlement: I want my refund check as promised. Neither appliance was repaired.

Review: Victor Gutierrez, the service technician/owner for this company, has not correctly diagnosed the problem with and repaired my refrigerator. Over the past four (4) months, we have contacted him repeatedly for repairs. His initial service visit in December 2013 did not correctly diagnose and repair our leaking fridge. He originally took money for buying a part which he returned with a week later. The problem was not correctly fixed. He is required by contract to provide a 90 day labor warranty for inadequate repairs. He returned 2 months later in February (2014), found another problem and took money for a part, which he brought back 2-3 weeks later (March 2014). This did still not fix the problem and my refrigerator is in worse condition after his repairs. We have repeatedly attempted to contact him (408-841-2826) and he has constantly ignored phone calls. We made contact once, during which he scheduled an appointment for 4/21/2014, but he did not show up and ignored all subsequent calls. His office phone number (559-314-5718) is disconnected. We have no idea how to get into contact with him and we still have a leaking fridge. In retrospect it seems Victor Gutierrez is trying to get out of his 90 day labor warranty without doing much work.Desired Settlement: Victor Gutierrez is an inept technician and his work is unsatisfactory. We request a complete refund of all service and part fees. The part fees should be refunded since he took the replaced parts with him and I would not trust any part he returned to us. This refund should total $403.54. This total does not include the cost of utilities required to run the incompetent refrigerator, lost food, lost time, and sheer annoyance.

I wish I would have checked Revdex.com prior to contacting VG Appliance. I am experiencing the same thing as others who have written reviews. I was told someone would be at my house to fix my dryer on Monday and no one called or showed up. I then received a call on Thursday to schedule an appointment and when I called back we scheduled for Friday. When no one showed up on Friday, I called several times with no answer and continued to attempt to reach them on Saturday with no success. At this point I have no way of getting a refund from them considering their address is a PO box at the UPS store and have now contacted another service to fix my dryer. I am currently out $269.66. I would never recommend this business for any work especially with their documented track record.

This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a repair company. They do not return calls. Are late, and when your quest your money back for a part they claim can't be located you get no response. This has been going on for the past six months. I don't recommend them to anyone, you will lose your money and a great deal of your time trying to get a response. Next call to Curtis on Your side seems my best hope. Stay away from this so called company what a joke.

Review: We requested them to come out and look at our dryer. They said it need a new part which would cost $200 and needed to be prepaid. We paid and they didn't show up when they were scheduled to install the part. Now we aren't able to get a hold of them.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for what we paid for the part.

Review: December 13, 2013 [redacted] came to my house to give me an estimate on front door oven, whirlpool model# GMC 305PRS01, Part # 8303289, He said he can order the parts and install in a week, I gave him a check for $210.00 for the parts only. He gave me the contract and have me sign it. I call after a week to see if the part have came in, he said he got the parts and will install it December 22, 2013 @ 1pm. The appointment was toss up no shows, no calls. He immediately cash my check and never heard from him. I made several phone calls but answering machine. After 2 weeks my husband call and was able to speak to [redacted], my husband gave him 5 days to install the front door oven or I demand full refund, after the five days [redacted] call us and said if we have received the check in the mail. No checks in the mail.I have yet heard back from [redacted] or [redacted].Desired Settlement: I demand a full refund because the front door oven is discontinued. Global and International I can't order the same parts.
