Villari's Martial Arts Center - Newington

My daughter started karate at vilaris when she was almost 5. We could see considerable difference in [redacted] confidence and ability to express herself in a group. The three rules that the program emphasizes on , are pretty much inclusive of all the dos and don'ts of good behavior. The masters are energetic and friendly but also have good control over the group.

We love Villari's! My children have been attending for about 3 months now and I have seen a huge improvement in them socially and also in their confidence. Master G[redacted] and all of the instructors are fantastic and I would highly recommend Villari's Newington to anyone!

Villari's Martial Arts Center in Newington is an amazing place. Master G[redacted] and the other instructors who work there have made my daughter feel accepted and welcome since day one when she had no experience at all. She has learned so much from them and is excited for every class and to continue learning the martial arts. I highly recommend Villari's to anyone who will listen.

My son was having some difficulties with attentiveness in kindergarten, and frankly, I wanted to have something for both of us to do to stay fit as well. I’ve both read and heard enough about the benefits of martial arts training to encourage better self-monitoring and general behavior with younger kids, so I thought I’d give it a try. In the spring of 2015, I signed my then-5 year old son and myself up for a 4 or 6 week trial at Villari’s Martial Arts in Newington, and it turned out to be a great decision.
Not only did my son’s teacher see a noticeable shift in his behavior over the weeks that followed, but my wife and I also noticed the lessons he learned in the studio affected his behavior at home, too. Sure, progress was slow and steady, but it was encouraging to see him building that forward momentum and growing to understand how he could be more respectful to others, demonstrate better self-control during stressful or frustrating situations, or be more self-disciplined about chores at home and tasks at school. We’ve also noticed he just seems to be a little stronger and doesn’t get tired out as easily – good for his little growing mind and body! Needless to say, it was an easy decision to start our little spitfire of a 4 year old last month, as Master G[redacted], Mr. G[redacted], and the rest of the instructors do an excellent job of providing a healthy, constructive, and safe environment for our kids to learn, grow, and have fun. We also really love that they also have a variety of community building events such as Laser Tag Nights, Parents’ Night Out, and other events for the kids (and adults).
And for whatever it’s worth, I have to say I’ve really grown to enjoy going to class each week. It’s a great opportunity to mental “clean the slate” and focus on something other than the stressors of the work day, and it’s gotten me into much better shape than I was in before I started about 10 months ago. If you’re thinking it over, definitely give Villari’s at Newington a try!

My family has been a part of the Villari's studio for almost 2 years now. The experience has been phenomenal. Master G[redacted] and all the teachers do an amazing job engaging large groups of children, keeping the learning challenging and fun. I love how they teach my boys about respect, self discipline, and self control and what they mean both in the studio and out. It's great to watch their self confidence grow as they practice standing in front of their peers and leading an exercise.

This a Great School that really takes the time to monitor your Child's progress. They are exceptional for small kids as well. A lot of Schools can't be bothered with the little ones , but they are the Future for any School. There are Instructors who Started when they were kids....that says a lot.

Fast forward to today and my boys have been going to the Newington studio for almost 8 years now. It has definitely played an important role in shaping them to be the confident, respectful, and focused individuals they are today. Master G[redacted] helps focus the students on being the best they can be in a manner where they can carry it outside the dojo and into their daily lives-school, home and other sports activities. Also, he is very open to working with the kids who do have other activities, such as sports etc. so they can do both. He wants the kids to be as committed to the program as he is.
