Please see attached response Please also note that this response includes an original check #*** dated 11/17/from *** *** to Vincent RBoltz Inc for $250.00.
The complaint is to the price and repair of the ground water heat pump at *** *** ***Our technician,
Jeffery M***, went to *** ***'s Home on 10/15/2014, spent hours working on the System, he added lbsof refrigerant, and checked the pressures of the heat pump, they were out of ranges, he called the factory, while he was thereThe factory thought it was the TX valve which they ordered. On 10/20/Jeffery returned with the TX Valve to replace, before replacing the valve, he added more refrigerant, lbscalled the factory, and told them what he did, to bring the pressure into rangeAt that time not finding any leaks at the unit and not knowing if the leak was in the dry or wet side, he added dye to try and find the leakHoping after the dye works through the system he could locate the leak*** *** did not want us to return and locate the leakWhen the system was installed *** *** installed the outside water loop to save money, after the installation we return under warranty with no charge to resolve the problem he createdI'm willing to cut the bill 50% to $525.00, we did do the service and installed refrigerant and dyeRobert *B***

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that it is inaccurate, however, I will accept the resolution offered. A check for $will be mailed to the Revdex.com to be forwarded to BoltzPlease see below to correct the record:
I was billed for service dates of "10/6/to 10/10/2014" and "10/20/2014" for a total of hours of labor and other charges (invoices attached) for a total of $1,After the second visit on October when the location of the leak could not be found, rather than chase after an elusive problem I asked for a quote on a new unitSeveral days later I received the first of the bills noted above and was shockedThis motivated me to call other companies to provide a quoteEvery one of them asked why I'm considering replacing a unit that's still under warrantyEvery one sent a service man out to looknever billed me, one billed $and the one who repaired my unit with warranty parts billed a total of less than half of what Boltz billed
When this unit was initially installed I had space to do a less expensive ground loop rather than drilling wellsThis is one of choices when installing a geothermal unit like thisThe unit did not perform properly the first winter it was needed (almost a full year after installation)The simple problem was that the operating temperatures are different when a ground loop is used vs a wellAll that was required was for a jumper to be removed from a circuit boardIt took Boltz multiple trips (for which I was initially billed) to finally figure out what to doRegards, *** ***

Review: Vincent R. Boltz installed a water heater, a fuel pump, and an air conditioning unit for me in 2007. By 2009, I realized that the air conditioning unit wasn't performing as well as my parent's unit. (my parents followed my lead and used Boltz to purchase the exact same air conditioning unit in 2008). Every year, I had to call them because when the outside temperature was over 90 degrees, the system couldn't keep the house cool. They came and added Freon for 2 years before I realized that it probably wasn't normal to have to add Freon every year. I asked if there could be a leak and was repeatedly told "no". But they consistently encouraged me to sign up for their maintenance plan. It wasn't until this year, when my boyfriend called, did they tell me they could put blue dye in to check for a leak. They had never even CHECKED for a leak! They put in the blue dye and found FOUR leaks in the coil of my system. They didn't check, until I pushed, to find out whether or not the part was under warranty. It was. In the meantime, they sent me a bill for almost $300 to add Freeon and check to see if there was a leak. Then they came back and offered to replace the part for $900.... a part that was under warranty. My basic complaints:

1. Incremental costs due to poor workmanship: The leak cost me huge electric bills, since my unit had to work twice as hard to cool the house. It also cost me to repair numerous places on my ceiling where the liquid leaked through and one spot where they stepped on the drywall and cracked the ceiling in a bedroom. All could have been avoided if they would have checked the leak when I first reported it.

2. Inappropriate business practices. I believe they KNEW it was leaking, but didn't check because they could continue to sell their "maintenance plan". This year, I received a $165.00 Invoice for a maintenance plan that I did not choose to sign up for.

3. Inflated Pricing: We questioned their $900 bill to install the warranty piece (I had an estimate from another contractor for $450). We asked to sit down with them and discuss next steps and they told us they no longer wanted to do business with us.Desired Settlement: Since they no longer want to do business with us and they never resolved the issue, I do not feel I should pay any outstanding charges to them in exchange for the payments I have already made to other partners to:

1. Repair my ceiling due to leaks and poor workmanship

2. Repair the faulty part

Dear **. [redacted],

Re: ID [redacted]

We received your letter concerning [redacted]. According to records in our computer system, we installed a Rheem Air Conditioning unit on July 12, 2007, with one year of labor covered and a 10-year warranty from Rheem. On May 18, 2011, we cleaned the outside coil. On July 16, 2013, a service call was made by **. [redacted]' boyfriend for a Freon leak - he told our office personnel that he had someone else working on the unit and they diagnosed the problem. **. [redacted]’ boyfriend was very abusive to our office staff on the phone and commented that he would NOT pay for any work done on the A/C unit. The 10 year warranty is between Rheem and the customer. We suggested he contacted the other company who serviced the unit.

We routinely send out Air Conditioning Maintenance Contracts to all AC customers. It is their option to purchase the contract!

Because of her boyfriend's attitude on the phone, we will NOT provide service to **. [redacted].

Sincerely,
