Vinnie's German Auto Service

Review: Recently I took my mothers 2004 VW Jetta to a repair shop (Vinnie's German Auto Service) for engine repairs. The mechanic/owner took the car in and stated that he would need to perform some diagnostic tests to see what the issues were exactly. A day later he calls me stating that the timing belt had broke and that I would have to pay $1,150.00 for all new engine parts also water pump and belts. As agreed, he performed repairs and I paid him. When I picked up the car, I noticed excessive vibrating while the car was idling and the check engine light was still on. When I asked him about this he stated, "it's normal and you need to drive it for 50 miles for the light to reset." I've done as he asked and still the problems are not going away. I've decided to get a second opinion from a professional (VW dealer in Garden Grove) and come to find out that none of the belts nor the water pump replaced with new parts. In fact, I have all the parts that came off the car from the dealer and I'm absolutely disgusted with Vinnie's repair job. In addition to the $1,150.00 I had to pay Vinnie's, I have had to pay additional repair costs over $2,000.00 out of my savings. Further more, I am currently building the evidence so I can proceed with my law suit. What a dishonest company!!Desired Settlement: I paid Vinnie's German Auto Repair Service $1,150.00 for professional automotive work.I then had to take the car in for the same work to a credible repair shop costing me over $2,000 dollars.I feel that I should not have had to pay twice for the same service.I didn't receive honesty nor professionalism and I believe that I should be reimbursed in full for having to endure such problems including writing this letter and pursuing a refund.
