Review: I payed $599 for a trip on this railcar in January 2014, the rip was supposed to be in August 2014. A week before the deprave date I checked the we site and saw the trip was cancelled, no notification to me. I contacted the vendor twice after the event and got replies that he was having health issues. To this date I se the company is still is business and I am still out $599.Desired Settlement: I would like my credit card, via paypal refunded

Response:
Business Stated "I am aware of the complaint. However, I can not pay or refund the customer the money. Its not that I dont want to issue a refund or that I wont, its because I don't have any income right now and no we haven't had any trips in over two years. I dont have the money to refund them. Unfortunately they are not the only client that I owe. I know this doesn't help the client but when I get it, I will give him the refund."
Review: In 2014, my husband and his friend prepaid for a trip on the Virginia Rail Car for Hot August Nights. Both paid $599 each. My husband used his credit card and his friend used PayPal. The owner of the railcar had to cancel that trip due to excessive fees being charged by Union Pacific Railroad. They were not notified that the trip was canceled, but they discovered the cancellation on the Virginia Rail Car web site. My husband sent an email to the owner, [redacted], inquiring about their reimbursement. [redacted] responded 45 days later that "I'm still working on getting funds together to do my refunds, there is just to much month left over at the end of the money." That response arrived on March 22, 2015.I noticed on their website and Facebook page that they were scheduling other rail trips to Reno and other points, so I sent another email to Mr. [redacted] on May 30, 2015 which was very respectful but asking when we could expect to see our refund. To this date we have had no response. Our friend contacted PayPal who said they would freeze access to PayPal in the future. We would just like to receive reimbursement in the amount of $599 for ourselves and $599 for our friend. My husband took a trip on this railcar in previous years and truly enjoyed the experience. This type of avoidance by the owner is just unacceptable.Thank you for your time and consideration.[redacted]Desired Settlement: This business should refund $599 to [redacted]l and $599 to [redacted] as the service was canceled due to no fault of theirs.
