[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
It was the respondent of VA HVAC that recommended the 410a system to the insurance company saying that federal guidelines will be requiring it within the yearIt was the respondent that suggested I escalate to the insurance company to be sure I got a 410a system
I never instructed VA HVAC or American Home Shield (AHS) to delay any installations
AHS never gave me an option to cash out, so that should have not been a delay
Additionally, after install, I was charged for a new thermostat because the installer did not know how to wire the current oneThe using was installed in a non-level position, on a platform that should have replaced the existing one, and not just placed on top, and the installers comments that the previous install was done improperly was never backed up with written documentation for me to have AHS investigate
I agree that the installer was very knowledgeable, but this installation was a nightmare, and my tenants ultimately moved out

Work Order Number: [redacted]

Contractor: Virginia HVAC, LLC

Contractor Phone Number: ###-###-####

Company works through my home warrantee co, [redacted] home buyers protection.

Company has yet to replace an AC unit that’s nonoperational since before June12.

Work order was assigned on 6/13, and after several days getting an appointment set up, the result was the need to replace the unit.

Replacement unit has been sitting over a week with no install date set until today (when I threatened this BB complaint) . There is a 82 year old ill tenant, with pacemaker (within the last couple weeks) and on constant oxygen. Warrantee co and Virginia HVAC have not been proactive about this persons well fare, on the contrary, they point fingers and offer out dated and inferior equipment in order to save a dollar. They sat on the install with the belief I was going to cash out instead. This has been a major inconvenience.. I have only talked to representative “Sumaya”, who initially had been pleasant and responsive, but things went downhill. It was her that suggested I question / challenge the warrantee company choice of replacement equipment, saying they wanted to use outdated R22. It was she that said she had seen customers get more concessions with the warrantee company than I was asking. I did so, but they were not responsive. I also challenged the fact that my system was build more robust, but that two did not go anywhere (my existing system is more robust) . I have an elderly women on her last days (expected to pass soon) having to endure 90 degree days without air conditioning. This should not be the norm. Equipment ready for install should not be sitting for an entire week.waiting to be picked up and installed. Having made an issue of it very early this morning, they still cant get this installed till Wednesday despite knowing the equipment was on its way and needed to be installed.

I also belive they wish me to pay for extra services that are not going to be done (R22 flush for example) , so this practice is somewhat questionable as well. Should I be paying for services I won’t be getting?Desired Settlement: The current time line for a 2 July install is not a good sign this company takes things seriously. I want the timetable moved up, and compensation for the lost time. I want a review of the additional services I will be billed for. Im open to hear additional offers to make things right.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Review: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:

It was the respondent of VA HVAC that recommended the 410a system to the insurance company saying that federal guidelines will be requiring it within the year. It was the respondent that suggested I escalate to the insurance company to be sure I got a 410a system.

Review: Virginia HVAC Company was dispatched to our home late August 2012. My wife & I were given a "home warranty" gift with the purchase of our new home through the realtor. [redacted] home warranty services. We called [redacted] to resolve a issue with our old and tired heat/ac unit. Virginia HVAC was sent out and upon inspection, the technician stated that the whole unit needed to be replaced. This was to be done at a cost of $75.00 dollars. We agreed upon this and set up a date to have the work done. When the technician from Virginia HVAC came out, he showed up in a white van, with a gentleman that was supposedly a helper. Neither had any advertisement or anything to advertise that they were employees of the company. Very unprofessional. The one technician that did the install did so mostly by himself in a very "rushed" manner with little regard to any small details, he left exposed wires hanging from the unit inside, mangled up our ductwork, did not level the outside unit, and more. Immediately when we turned the unit on, it began to leak right away. Within one week of installing the new unit, the "lines" Freon lines froze up. We have since, not renewed our home warranty policy as my wife and I are disgusted and very, very busy. Since the unit was installed, we have called three separate times to have a hvac company come try to diagnose what seems to be wrong with our unit. Two well known, large reputable companies have pointed out numerous mistakes and problems associated with what Virginia hvac did when they installed the unit. The third time someone was dispatched to our home to look at the unit, happened to be no one other than Virginia hvac. Upon his visit, he made notations that someone had messed with the unit therefore causing it to not work properly. This part is TRUE! Technicians were trying to unmangle what they had done wrong to start with. We were floored when one seperate technician told us that they had done such a poor job and made so many mistakes that the WHOLE unit would have to be removed and replaced. My wife & I have since called Virginia hvac multiple times, only to have them not call us back, and of late, blame the issues on the other hvac tech's that have since looked at our unit. Here we are nine months later with a brand new unit that has never functioned as it should and still not working. Not only has Virginia hvac been a burden to the wife & myself, our pet "[redacted]" english bulldog has suffered as well. She has allergies like so many of us and with the unit just sitting (no fan, no air conditioning) the air becomes stagnent and very stuffy inside, causing eye irritation and breathing problems.Desired Settlement: As of today (5-13-2013) I have made a call to a trusted hvac company that we've known for years. He has agreed to come to our house later this week and will hopefully be able to repair what virginia hvac has neglegently threw together. I would be very satisfied and amazed if they pay (cash) for the repair bill.
