Virtual Vocations, Inc. Reviews (19)

Hello [redacted],Thank you for submitting your concern regarding the posting date of the positions we list on Virtual Vocations. The majority of the jobs posted to our site are filled or removed within 30 days of their original posting, however our staff rechecks each lead every 30 days to redetermine if...

it is still open. If it is determined that the listing is still available, we will keep it up on the website and refresh the date so we check again in another 30 days.We also have some jobs that are considered 'Evergreen' openings that are categorized as Open until Filled, or Continuous Hiring, these may also be those jobs are referring to. I am truly sorry if our posting date system is confusing, we absolutely do our best to keep only open jobs on our website and we post over 500 new jobs per day that are hand-screened and researched by our staff.Your refund has been processed as you requested and we wish you luck with your continued job search.

Good Morning [redacted],After looking at the customer support records and subscription records we have on file, we processed two refunds for you on March 13, 2015 as you can see in the attached screenshot.  As far as the security of your [redacted] account, Virtual Vocations has absolutely no access to...

personal passwords or information in that respect, nor would we ever at any time have reason to utilize customer email accounts.  As the company owner, and someone who cares personally about our customers and the confidentiality of their information, I find that accusation offensive.  You should be looking at [redacted]'s security measures for their customer email accounts more than anything else.  I trust this situation is resolved to your satisfaction and I am sorry for the hassle with the cancellation.

Hello [redacted],We are very sorry for your frustration.  You initially signed up for the recurring 6 month subscription on January 6th, the subscription auto-renewed on July 6th.  All of our subscriptions are renewing as shown on the purchase page, as well as in your receipt and in your...

billing profile on the site.  We are sorry if that was missed.  We are not able to refund payments by check per our Terms of Service, our system provides refunds directly to the credit card used for the purchases, which we have done.  Your bank should still reflect that refund.  We strive to make our billing terms very transparent before, during and after purchasing a subscription.

Bad bad bad. Unbelievable to receive a job alert from Zip Recruiter and these people are listing jobs but when you enter the page, they want to charge you a membership. Scammer

It is ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE to unsubscribe from Virtual Vocations! I suspect that I will get these useless email notifications until the end of time.

enhancement, it is uploaded in her Virtual Vocations' account and is downloadable and accessible, so I'm not sure why she indicated she had not.  We also voided out the charge that was most recently put through, so it will not be charged to her credit card.  The charge was also for $39.99, not $49.00 as she indicated.  We hope this is resolved to her satisfaction.  Thank you.

The Virtual Vocations job postings are relevant, thorough, and dynamic. And for someone like me who's been out of the workforce for awhile and disabled, it has opened a world of possibilities that can balance my technical skills with my physical constraints. I dearly appreciate that, and I'm sure many other subscribers do, too. Additionally, their customer service is extraordinarily fast, friendly, and helpful.

Review: Virtualvocations went into my checking account on 7-6-2015 and took 59.99 out without my consent. I want my money back in a check. I have close the account after this incident. When you try to call them they will not answer the phone at all. Please get them out of business.Desired Settlement: Tell others about this business practices as well.

Review: Subscribed to site this am (in order to view jobs fully you must subscribe) after promises of opportunities available only via the virtual vocations site.

2 hours later attempted to cancel and get refund because job listings are old and limited to the same exact roles that are seen on free sites ([redacted], [redacted], [redacted] etc) and was dissatisfied and felt scammed.

Also refused to provide resume enhancement as advertised and paid for.

They promptly cancelled my account without comment but did not respond to my inquiry about charges and did not refund anything.Desired Settlement: Immediate refund to ** provided.

Review: I signed up for a 1 quarter ( 3 month ) subscription thru this merchant. After the subscription should have ended I noticed that I was still being billed via [redacted] . Since at that time I felt I might continue with the merchants services I continued to pay for the subscription . On Aug 19, 2014 I finally realized that the merchants services had not produced any legitimate lead to employment so I sent an email requesting that my subscription be cancelled at the end of that quarter. I receive a reply from the merchant a few hours later stating that my account had been cancelled. However , the merchant has continued to charge me a quarterly fee of $39.99 in Sept2014 and Jan 2015. The merchant reports they never received my request for cancellation and requested a copy of same. I retrieved the email took a screenshot and forwarded this to the merchant..they want the original yet suspiciously when I attempt to retrieve the email my account has been hacked.. The email is mysteriously missing. However I still have the screenshot and I'm sure the [redacted] can retrieve the original. A complaint and request for an investigation has been filed with [redacted].Desired Settlement: Apologize and refund my money.

Buyer beware. Most of the listings in Virtual Vocations are not what anyone would consider telecommute. Rather, there are a lot of full-time positions listed which merely require a lot of travel. In many regards, this is the opposite of what people like myself were looking for when they sign up for this. I would never waste my time or money on this site again.

I have used Virtual Vocations for job search needs a number of times over the past few years. While initially I did have a few issues using the site, I figured out just like everything else there is a learning curve involved. The site did lead me to a part time 100% telecommute or virtual position, that I am currently still in. It is a tool that when utilized as one part of the search for an online job can be extremely useful, and can help people from staying away from the 'online work' scams often found on job boards that don't screen positions.

Virtual Vocations is a great sight and I found many jobs that I did not see on other job board sights. I would recommend this service to anyone looking for new job opportunities.

There are almost none or very few jobs posted on this site for a software positions. I did not find anything at all in 6 months for a senior .net developer position. I would not recommend for any software Programmers or architects from my experience. On top of it customer service is not great when called for cancelling account.

I cancelled my subscription last summer. They're STILL charging my credit card. I have to watch for their name and call for a refund every time. I'm angry. It actually states "subscription cancelled" on my profile on their website. I looked to see if I could access any of the "paid" features, and I can't. I didn't expect to be able to, since I cancelled......... but I don't expect to continue to be billed, either! The credit card number they're using is no longer valid, yet my credit card company is allowing the charges to go through because it was a recurring payment.

The resume enhancement was a joke. It was small formatting changes, with no suggestions on improving the content.

After this experience, I believe they are banking on people not checking their statements closely enough so that they can skim money from people and not provide the service. Once, I could possibly understand. Three times? No way. This is bordering on fraud.

Review: I purchased a several month subscription from them earlier this year. Without my authorization they automatically charged my [redacted] account 49.00. Without my knowledge they had arranged with [redacted] continuous and unlimited charges. They never notified me in advance that they had charged my account, nor did they send me a receipt.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

I want a refund of 49.00 and there agreement that they will notify all customers in advance before charging any account and will also send all customers a receipt after a charge is made.

Mr. [redacted]'s payment of $49.99 was refunded as of December 11, 2013, and his account has also been cancelled so no further payments are taken. All subscribers are notified via three different sources upon sign up that the payments are auto-recurring and that our site does not currently support reminder emails. The sources include:1. Statement in bold red letters right above and below the signup payment buttons on our subscriber page. 2. They are notified by email upon sign up that all subscriptions are auto-recurring and can be cancelled at any time. 3. They also receive an independent email via [redacted] or our payment processor, Authorize.net, that notifies after their initial payment that they have signed up for a recurring subscription.

Virtual Vocations is not what they represent themselves to be. This is a search engine that searches for telecommute jobs posted anywhere on the internet. The company website Home page states;

"Welcome to the number one online list of companies that hire telecommuters, teleworkers, those who want to work from home, freelancers and independent contractors."

They do not have an online list of companies that are using them directly. They are just doing a massive online search and re-posting the jobs on their website. This includes jobs posted on craigslist where it specifically requests not third party contacts. This can be verified by going to http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/virtual-vocationscom . If you contact these companies they are already angry as they did not want Virtual Vocations to contact them or any job-seekers from Virtual Vocations.

When sign up BEWARE as they will automatically renew even if you have not used their website in months. Their customer service representatives are working from home and state there are no supervisor's and that they will not give you a refund. BE PERSISTENT AND CONTINUE TO DEMAND A REFUND CALLING MULTIPLE TIMES IF NECESSARY.
