Viux is not helping our business retrieve our emails off of their server.Viux is not helping complete the task of retrieving and migrating my companies emails off of their server where they have been stored for 8 years. We have switched out email hosting company from viux to a new company and we need to retrieve and transfer all of our existing emails from their server to our new server. Viux has essentially given us little to no help in doing this. They have done this for other clients several times and I am not sure why they won't perform this task for us. When I hired Viux 8 years ago I expected that if we switched service providers our information would be safe and easily transferred. However since we have notified them and started this process they have ignored our multiple requests to help perform this task and now have started ignoring our calls and emails. Our new company Goigle has tried several different methods to retrieve our emails with no success. Viux has told us our emails are on one of theirolder sever and more difficult to retrieve. This is unacceptable. We are asking that Viux work with Google to migrate our emails and a refund of their fees for the past three months. I have been paying for two subscriptions as I am worried that if I stop paying Viux before we retrieve our emails they will be lost. Thank youDesired SettlementTransfer our emails from their server to Googles and refund 3 months of feesBusiness Response [redacted]Document Attached[redacted]Attached is the correspondence pertaining to this matter from merged ticket #BTD-XXX-XXXXX. [redacted] has a legacy Shared Hosting subscription with ViUX that began over 6 years ago on 26-Feb-2010.Mr. [redacted]'s mail domain [redacted] has never been configured for SSL (Encrypted) connections at any point during the service and is not hosted upon an MS-Exchange Server. But in June, [redacted] was pointed away from the ViUX network to Google, and they attempted to migrate his mail from our SmarterMail based system to Gmail. And as seen in the attached document, they were attempting to do the migration via Exchange and IMAP-SSL - neither of which are supported by the legacy system upon which his services were hosted. It was explained both in the attached support ticket and during at least 4 phone calls (as logged below) that migration would be best handled by POP or IMAP Retrieval via a non-SSL connection as supported by the legacy system upon which his services were hosted.6/7/2016 10:45 8 min Inbound Call XXX-XXX-XXXX XXXXXXXXXXx36/7/2016 10:53 7 min Inbound Call XXX-XXX-XXXX XXXXXXXXXXx36/7/2016 12:54 41 min Inbound Call XXX-XXX-XXXX XXXXXXXXXXx1157/12/2016 12:52 18 min Inbound Call XXX-XXX-XXXX XXXXXXXXXXx0We even provided details of using Outlook (or other locally installed mail client) to download the mail to his local system. But ultimately what Mr. [redacted] is holding us responsible to do is to make a 6 year old system compatible with the preferred auto-migration method of a third party system over which we have no control. We have no ability to influence why Google requires an SSL connection to migrate mail instead of falling back to a non-SSL connection as is common. And setting up true and correct SSL access for his mail domain on our legacy system would have required him to purchase an SSL Certificate for [redacted] and be assigned a static IP (both at additional expense for him). We would have also charged for this custom setup, as that is not included with his $14.95 subscription fee.On our newer systems for which MS-Exchange ActiveSync is supported, we do offer generic SSL connections; however these are both paid add-on services that were not available or even possible with the legacy system. All we could do in this matter is make suggestions as to how Google should attempt to handle the migration so that it did not require an SSL connection - which other providers have been able to do with ease.We have no idea why this took so long to handle on their part, nor did we have any control or influence over this from our side. We participated in at least two conference calls with Mr. [redacted] and a Google rep to aid as best we could in this regard.Mr. [redacted]'s emails were present and accessible in our system and until the mail domain was pointed away from our network (outside of our control), Mr. [redacted] could send and receive / read mail via our system . Even after the mail domain was pointed away, existing email was always accessible via the system that we provide for the fee that he paid.So the only conflict here appears to be an incompatibility between our system and the preferred auto-migration method of a third party provider (Google) over whom we have no control or influence and for which we made ourselves available to aid to the greatest level that we could in both written form and by phone. We're not aware of anything more we could have done.To our knowledge the migration was ultimately successfully executed manually by Google using the Outlook non-SSL method that we had recommended a full month earlier. But now Mr. [redacted] seeks to hold us responsible for this delay and appears to want free service for the span of time that his new provider delayed in completing the manual migration.
