Review: I have been a patient with Vivid Smiles Dental Center since 2012.On my last appointment at the Costa Mesa office on December 9, 2015, Dr. Mo [redacted] stated that he had purchased the dental business of Vivid Smiles from Dr. [redacted] DDS, MBA.Dr. [redacted] assured me that my implant work would be completed as it was contracted since it was prepaid in full. I was scheduled to return on March 31, 2015 at 2 pm to his office. On March 23, 2015 I called to confirm my appointment when I was told that the Vivid Smiles Office had moved to 1310 Bison Ave., Newport Beach, Ca. with their new phone # (949) 760-0363.On March 25, 2015 I received written notification from Dr. [redacted] that he had closed his practice Vivid Smiles in Costa Mesa, Ca. (see announcement enclosed)Upon arrival of my appointment on March 31, 2015 I was received at the Image Dental office as a Vivid Smiles patient and was attended by Dr. [redacted] for about 1 hour proceeding with preparation and final impressions necessary for the lab work when one of his assistants suddenly came in the room and asked me for an additional payment of $ 900.00. When asked why, I was told that the work to complete the implant with the crown is a new charge. During my following discussion with Dr. [redacted] he tried to explain that he cannot honor my prepayment stating;Dr. [redacted] (the previous owner of Vivid Smiles) ran off with the money including my prepayment. He now stated that he actually only bought the Vivid Smiles Customer List from Dr. [redacted]. Yet he had to file bankruptcy after all, since Dr. [redacted] did not honor the agreement they had. Dr. [redacted] at that time started to contradict himself from the truth of what he told me after he had taken possession of the business then and now, telling me he is only renting a chair from Dr. [redacted] Q. [redacted] DDS. When I asked Dr [redacted] for his new business card he stated he had none.Then I proceeded to discuss my situation with Dr. [redacted], the Image Dental Owner, which had no answers to my questions other than allowing Dr. [redacted] to use his facility for his former Vivid Smiles patients. I found this dentist arrangement between those two (2) dentists very unusual and strange to say the least.My trust was broken and I left reminding Dr. [redacted] that I would file a complaint to the Revdex.com as well as you the Dental Board of California with a small claim suite maybe to follow. His reply was to go ahead.As I was leaving the dental office I was asked by other patients waiting for Dr. [redacted] which had similar issues of being asked to pay again for uncompleted work already prepaid to Vivid Smiles.Any of the Dentists mentioned in this complaint should be investigated of their questionable business practices.I hereby request for Dr. [redacted] to return my complete dental X-rays.Desired Settlement: I hereby request to have the business practices of Dr [redacted], DMD, FACP and Dr. [redacted] Q. [redacted], DDS investigated. I am also requesting a refund of the total amount paid for the Dental service in ref to the uncompleted Implant and Crown.
