Review: On April 30th my lease expired at [redacted] Apartments.The week before that I had spent cleaning the place. I went with an outside hirer to ensure all clean was done properly. I have photo's of the apartment post cleaning and it is spotless.I spoke with landlady [redacted] about completing a final walk through, where BOTH of us would examine the apartment and discuss my security deposit. [redacted] was UNABLE to attend because her car was in the shop. She informed me that if the place was clean, I would be getting all $350 back. A final walk was not done between me and my landlady, when I was promised one would be performed. Back when I signed my lease in November 2013, [redacted] told me that on April 30th we both would examine the space and IF anything was found, she would give me an additional opportunity to make repairs or cleaning. This did not occur. During my stay at [redacted], I requested emergency maintenance when the door to my refrigerator fell off (due to a missing bolt). According my lease, they were required to assist me, 24/7. They FAILED to fix my problem and I had to spend $150 on new groceries and use my own resources on repairing it. It took [redacted] 3 days to get back to me on the matter. On May 22nd, without notice, I received a check (sent to my parents, not me) of $179.00. A piece of paper with false damages and cleaning services were also sent to me. I contacted VK properties and spoke to [redacted] of my compliant. She informed me that [redacted] will return my call when she returned for vacation. On May 27th at 7:58am I received a voicemail from [redacted] stating "[redacted] said the place was dirty. If you hired someone, you should get your money back." [redacted] refuses to work with me on this matter. She has failed to meet her agreements.Desired Settlement: I am requesting that the remainder of my deposit, $171.00 be refunded to me.

I am responding to you in reference to a copy of a complaint that we have received from the Revdex.com submitted to them by you. I hope that you do receive this as I am using the address for you that was found on the form you submitted to the Revdex.com. By saying this l would like to address your comment that we sent the security deposit refund to your parents and not to you. I am attaching a copy of your notice

to vacate which shows the address of [redacted] given to us by you.

After getting the information necessary to respond to you, I have determined the following:

I believe we were negligent in not meeting you to do your walk through as had been scheduled. By not -meeting you, we were not able to address the issues in person that needed to be corrected hence not giving you the opportunity to correct them. The cleaning did not meet our requirements, but since we did not give you this opportunity to correct any deficiencies, we are returning the cleaning fees to you that were deducted from your Security Deposit. Please find enclosed a check in the amount of $120.

The request of a needed refrigerator repair was reported on a weekend in March. Our emergency service received the call, understood that the handle had fallen off the door of the refrigerator, determined it was not an emergency and therefore maintenance received the request on Monday morning. If the door fell off it was indeed an emergency and would have been repaired immediately. Several attempts were made to contact you to make arrangements to make the repair. When we did make contact we were advised that your father had fixed the refrigerator.

We value our residents and their well-being and also we take pride in maintaining our properties and offering our residents a well maintained and safe living environment. We appreciate your informing us of your concerns and we appreciate you giving V-K Properties the opportunity to assist you in your housing.
