Review: I have been using a service from Voicecloud, which uses a computer to transcribe my phone messages, and sends them to me as text in an email. The price for the service when I signed up was $19.99 per month, and their web site clearly indicated there was no limit on the number of messages transcribed or stored. Their current website still maintains unlimited messages and unlimited message storage, and when the cursor is hovered on the unlimited messages, a small window pops up saying, No set limit of voicemail transcriptions.In 2010 there was a brief exchange between myself and the company when they raised my rate to $49.99, despite the advertisement on the web site still maintaining unlimited messaging for $19.99. I did not receive a satisfactory response to my inquiry, and their email suggested that I had excessive use, despite their claim for unlimited use. Because I was not using human transcription, I find their claim suspect that their cost exceeded my payment.Recently I began shopping around for less expensive alternatives and again looked at their web site and was reminded of their claim for unlimited messages transcribed for $24.95. I contacted them by email. My request was polite and assertive, seeking clarification on why I was being charged double the advertised rate. It is also evident that Voiceclouds response was short and rude, failing in customer service due to a client. In retaliation for my seeking clarification and questioning their pricing, they abruptly terminated my service without warning! For three days I did not have access to messages as I had difficulty getting my voicemail, as it seems the calls had been forwarded to their company and they did not unforward them. I spent an enormous amount of time with Verizon trying to figure out why the voicemail hadnt been working until it was discovered about the message forwarding. As a psychiatrist, I need to be apprised of calls immediately for patient safety and to run my practice. I am aware of a few calls that I never received but may not be aware of others yet. I left four voice messages at the Voicecloud center, including their customer service line. I did not receive a returned call. The next day I left two more messages and immediate received a call on my cell phone from someone introducing himself as the CEO of Voicecloud. I was absolutely stunned when this grown man started yelling at me not to leave any more messages on their machine and that they had the right to terminate my service at any time. I told him I had the right as a customer to inquire about their pricing and he interrupted me to say that they were a privately held company and can do whatever they wanted. He wouldnt let me get a word in when I tried to say that they had a customer service department and needed to address my concern and that their website had false advertising, he yelled at me Go f-ck your mother!, and hung up. Absolutely furious, I called back and left two messages saying that I would be considering legal action. As a psychiatrist I am baffled by this treatment by a business. Either he was extremely defensive about their faulty claims and was trying to scare me aware by being aggressive, or this individual in extremely disturbed.Desired Settlement: I have been told by American Express that I can challenge the last 10 months or so
