This business is extremely amazing. The workers are friendly and the shop is family oriented. You don't see places like this anymore. I want to point out [redacted] in particular. My father broke down 200 miles between his home and mine on the way to visit with me. This man worked his butt off to get my father back on the road. I am so grateful that IF my father had to break down, that God let it happen close to this shop. It's getting hard to find honest hard working people and this place is full of them! Thank you again!!

Review: I'm a middle aged woman with no phone..new to the area..first day at work..its cold and dark. A state trooper called this company to come pick up my van because I didn't have any money and no phone to even call for help. I was told to either pay $75.00 for five gallons of gas or my van would become the tow driver's property until I pay him money. around this time of year this is suppose 2 b the season for giving..this is how this company's employees treat middle aged women?.Now my only means of transportation is impounded...I have no family and no friends that can help me get my van back...What a merry christmas!!! When I asked the tow truck guy to give me a ride home he said hell no thats not gonna happen which I think that is inappropriate way to speak to a lady and I had to ride with an officer and the tow truck driver critized me for not knowing my way around..I am new to the area..I think the tow driver could've been nicer..he could've been compassionate..he could've been something! The tow truck driver didn't even sign his name to the tow paper or write any information about the incident so we dont even know his name but he works for W.S. campbell towing and repair at [redacted]..It happened around the Petersburg area about 9:30ish on I-95..I was there for 2 hours no gas no heat no battery. The tow truck driver towed my vehicle all because an officer called him and this could have been avoided if someone could have made a simple phone call for me. I understand it's not his responsibility but I think he could have been a little more compassionate about the situation. This is just wrong! I even filed a complaint against the state trooper as well. This would not have happened twenty years ago. What happened to help thy neighbor? What happened to serve and protect? What happened to humanity? Thank you.Desired Settlement: The company could release my van to me due to the unforeseen situation. I will be homeless without my job and I will jobless without my transportation.

Review: On October 17, 2014 worked was started on my [redacted] 2001. When it was towed in it need repair on the engine. I was informed that water and oil had mixed and due to the fact that the [redacted] had sitting for a year. I received a phone call telling me what was needed. At this time I was informed that I need a new engine. We purchased the used ,engine for $1665.00. Total for the repairs was $2863.14. Lifetime on parts and one time $400.00 on labor. Never in any of our conversation was I told that parts would be taken off the old engine and used on the one that I had just purchased. On 12/4/14 truck back in the shop this time thermostat and gasket, hook-up to computer and flush heater core, total $188.73. On 3/10/15 back in shop this time ignition coil and hook up to computer total $309.73. At this time I asked the question why was old parts taken off the original engine and placed on the one I had purchased since when I had the truck towed in the engine wasn't working. I feel as if when the engine was replaced that the parts should had been replaced with the first time. Ms.Campbell told me when I asked that they do use them sometimes. I found this to be a constant spending on money, since the truck wasn't running when I first brought it in how could they use the old parts and now to find out that I will have to keep replacing the original parts taken off the old engine without even telling me that this was what they were doing. The paper work stats life time on parts but now I know the used old parts. I would like for my $309.73 to be refunded to me.Desired Settlement: A refund of my $309.73 for the cost of the R&R ignition coil [redacted] price 120.60 [redacted] price $175.60 and labor total charge $309.73.

Response:

Dear [redacted]We have received the notice of the complaint that was filed

with you. She called us about fixing her Jeep. She was told by someone else that she needed

head gaskets. We check out the vehicle

and told her it needed a engine. We gave

her estimates for a used. She was told

that the lifetime warranty was on the

motor itself and they would pay a onetime $400.00 on the labor. We did

put an used engine in her [redacted] in October of 2014. The lifetime warranty was on the engine

itself. We did transferred some her

parts onto the used engine. She brought it back on December 4, 2014 and stated that she had no heat and the check

engine light was on. We hooked to the computer

and put a thermostat, gasket and flushed the heater core. When we did this work in December she didn't

say anything about the warranty then. She

brought the [redacted] in on March 10, 2015 she said the check engine light was on

and that she had taken to Auto Zone and they had told her that it was the spark

plugs. I told her we would check it out

and let her know what we found. We

hooked it to the computer and it was the ignition coil that was bad. I called her and told her what it was and the

estimate to fix it. That is when she

asked me about the warranty and I told her it did not cover the ignition

coil. I explained to her about the warranty

again. She told that she didn't want the

work done and to make keys available to

her. I told her we would have them ready

for her. Then a gentleman called and

wanted to know about the vehicle. I told

him what I had told her. The gentleman

called me back about the price of the ignition coil and I told him what the

price was and that it had a 36 months or 36,000 mile warranty on the part and

it had a six month warranty on the labor.

The one he had told me that he priced didn't have a warranty on the

labor. We did mark up the price on the

ignition coil. Like we do on every part

we sale. So he said use the one that we

could get. He told me to fix it that he

was going to pay for it. He gave me his

credit card over the phone because he couldn't be here when she picked it up. She did not say anything else when she picked

up vehicle.

Response:

Dear [redacted] I have read the reply from my complaint. This reply doesn’t

even address the issue of them using old parts from the original engine. I know

that I purchased a used engine that information was put in writing sent you a

copy of that information. My complaint with them is they used old parts without

my permission and this will be a cash cow in months to come. When they towed

the [redacted] in I explained to them the [redacted] had been sitting for a while and that

it had overheated the last time I drove it. When they finally looked at it they

said water and oil and mixed and I needed another engine. That it needed more

than head gaskets that I was told. Let’s go back to the real problem I have

here, not telling or asking me if I would like to play a guessing game use the

parts that was on the old engine since the [redacted] wasn’t running when they towed

it. Maybe tell me that was what they were doing, and allow me the option of purchasing

new or using the original parts on an engine that they stated had to be

replaced. They bypassed the whole complaint in their response when they told me

the last time that I need an ignition coil and this wasn’t included in the

engine warranty first time I was told this. I was upset and told my partner at

this time he call and told them to put on credit card. How many more old parts that they put on will fail in less

than six months? I feel some of this could have been avoid, if only I had been

given the option of replacing the new since they are in the business of repairing.

Nothing is guarantee but I should have been given the option. I feel that they

should refund my money for the ignition coil. Bottom line.Thank you,[redacted]
