W. W. Williams Reviews (1)

Review: I would like $40 from WW Williams for work I do not believe was done. I dropped my vehicle off for repair because it was overheating. Their mechanic [redacted] told me he would replace the water pump for $60 and that should take care of it. When he returned the vehicle to me a little later that day, he said that I was lucky because they had one already in the shop so he didn't have to order one and that it would be $80 instead of the $60 he quoted for him replacing it. I paid him and he then said that now the low level light was on but not to worry it was not really low. I drove it to work the next day and smoke starting rolling out of it and it overheated. I took it to a different mechanic and he told me to NEVER disregard a low level light and that I was lucky I didn't blow it up. I told him my friend at ww williams had replaced the water pump and said it was good. He said the water pump had not been replaced and showed me the hoses to it had not been removed and the bolts had not been broken that you would have to if you replaced it. He looked farther and said I need a head gasket or an intake manifold gasket but he couldn't tell without testing it. I had my fiance call [redacted] and record the conversation and he immediately offered to return some money and stated that you don't have to remove any hose to replace a water pump. My fiance said fine just give us back what you believe to be fair. We havn't been able to contact him since. We have taken it to another mechanic who said the same thing, that it was not replaced and we need a gasket and maybe even head work if it has been overheated. [redacted] did put some freon in and said it was a can and cost $10. I would be happy if he gave us $40 back. That seems fair to me.Desired Settlement: $40 for [redacted] not replacing the part and telling me not to worry about a low level light for my coolant.

Response:

I sent a money order for $40 to [redacted] for repair on car. They named W.W. Williams for fault. W.W.Williams does not work on cars. They just dropped car off at my work. I then take car to my house to repair. I do side work at home so they are paid.

Thank you.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business and although the response was written in a very difficult to decipher style of writing that I have not seen since elementary school, I gather WW Williams was not aware their garage is being used by a less than ethical employee. I would suggest for everyone's best interest they rectify that as I found out I am not the only one who has taken my car there for repairs. After researching it, I have found that WW Williams has an impeccable reputation that I will not impugn due to the unethical actions of one employee. I consider the matter closed and regret discovering this business in such a manner and consequently speaking ill of them to friends in the truck business before finding out it was one employee acting without their knowledge.
