Wachusett Family Dental

I recently enrolled in my own dental plan through my work. Unfortunately my dentist of 23 years did not take my new insurance plan, therefore I had to switch dental offices. After searching for dentists near my residing town, I found Wachusett Family Dental. I was impressed by their friendly staff and knowledgeable hygienists. After having my first cleaning I was told that I had two small cavities that the dentist would like to fix. They handed me an estimate which read [redacted] for two cavity fillings. I came in 2 weeks later to have the fillings done, and when I left they stated I owed 140 now. I asked why, and they said insurance didn't cover as much as they thought. So I paid the balance with no questions asked. It was weeks later that I got another bill in the mail for 343 dollars still owed. Very frustrated and confused, I went to the office and quested it. The office staff said the insurance didn't cover the fillings and left it at that. She gave me the number to my insurance company, Delta Dental. I called them, they looked up my information and told me that Delta Dental does not cover white fillings. I had no idea that the dentist used white fillings on my teeth, I usually get silver and have no preference. I called the dental office back and was told they only do white fillings there. I explained to them that they never told me that. The dentist said he only does silver if the patient requests it. I think it is ridiculous to not mention to the patient that they have the option to pay more for the white filling because they're insurance isn't going to cover silver. I am extremely frustrated with the situation and I feel the office staff at Wachusett Family Dental was rude and unforgiving for their mistake of not informing their patient of the cost. I got the dental fillings thinking it would be [redacted] and now I'm stuck with a bill for [redacted] onto of the [redacted] I have already paid. I am now switching dental offices.Desired SettlementI would like to not have to pay the remaining balance because I was unaware that my dental insurance didn't cover white fillings. It was never mentioned to me about the difference fillings and price differences. I think this is very unfair.
