another bid, got bid and went with us. He emailed us to schedule the job, but just wanted to do roof repair not screens. We sent roofers and did all roof repairs in scope of work, including 1 hour drive to job with 2 men. After we were done he said he changed his mind and wanted the gutter screens. I sent the guys back down the next day and installed gutter screens. After the job is done customer called and said our men weren’t there long enough to charge $1,800.00 when in fact his indecision cost us another trip to job at approximately 50 miles each way. He said he was going to pay me and give me as much bad advertisement as he could. 3 weeks went by and still haven’t been paid, Called him again on 11/17/14 and talked again. Verified that we did the work we agreed on and he agreed but said because he thought we charged him to much he would only pay $50.00 a month for the next 10 years just to make his point, When I told him that was not acceptable and we were going to small claims court he said” OK, I’ll see you there”. To date we gave him an inspection, bid job, did work after he agreed and he has not paid anything. We even waived the inspection fee if he agreed to do the work. To my knowledge he has no problem with the work other then we didn’t spend as much time as he thought it would take. Balance due $3,180.00 excluding inspection cost of $150.00

Review: We had a roof inspection in August 2014 and we were told that we had to have a major roof tune up. The estimate we received by e-mail said the repair was to be $1800 which supported what we understood was to be a major repair. The repair man was here in October 2014. As it turned out the roofer was only here an hour and a half. The repair man the Contractor sent here said they sealed one area that was leaking and some flashing. We furnished the material to replace the tiles that were broken, which were not many, only 10 in the entire roof which did not support a major roof tune up. The repairman left without explaining all that was done. We called the Contractor to have him explain why the invoice was still $1800 he later sent when we supplied the tiles and they were only here an hour and half. We ask for a labor and material break down and the Contractor refused to provide it. We never gave the Contractor anything in writing that we would agree to $1800 just for labor which it appears what it turned to be due to providing all the tiles. We are elderly and we feel we were taken advantage of. We would like to have some help resolving this as we feel we should not pay this bill for $1,800 just for an hour and half labor. We request a settlement.Thank you, [redacted] and [redacted]Desired Settlement: We are required to pay the bill within 5 days per the invoice. We would like a refund of the over payment after resolution.

We paid $600 for one hours work from two men. Dan sent me a very legal contract (disclaimers, Mechanic Lien Law, etc.) to sign, which should have alerted me to look elsewhere.
The contract was for ‘Cleaning 60’ of Valley Metal and Realign Slipped Tiles’. I cannot comment on the professional manner of the workers. I can only say that after 30 minutes the two workmen told my wife that they were finished. Knowing the cost of the contract, my wife questioned the workers who then called the office. They returned to say they would do a bit more taping. Thirty minutes later they left.
I questioned Dan and he said that I had signed the contract and that was that. There was to be no renegotiated costs. When asked, Dan said he pays these particular workers $20 per hour. I then said $560 an hour ($280 per worker hour) profit seems excessive.
I was not present when Dan did his estimate, nor when the workers arrived to complete the job. If my wife had not been present, I would have no idea what a swindle he performed. However, I paid his bill without comment as I want no other dealing with this contractor.

Wait Roofing installed our original roof when we built our home in 1990.

We started our remodelled in January 2015 and had Wait Roofing come back to inspect the roof as we considered including a new roof with the remodel. It was determined that we had probably 5 years life in the original roof but we decided to replace the roof with remodel.

Wait Roofing, Dan Sr, Dan Jr. and their crew are an honest, professional team with an unbelievable work ethic. Our roof was demo'd and reinstalled June 19-26, 2015 in 105+ temperatures. The crew was professional, pleasant, clean and again demonstrating an unbelievable work ethic.

All debris, nails and roofing materials were cleaned up at the end of each work day. Final clean up was impressive leaving our flower beds, paths and perimeter in original condition.
