They have fraudulently attempted to submit claims
This has happened twice and I have tried to resolve it both in person and via phoneI switched insurance in the beginning of and this provider was no longer in-network for meI still wanted to go, so I was informed that I would have to pay full price out of pocket each visitI paid $every time for office visitsAll of a sudden I was informed on 2/22/that I had a balance of $I asked what it was for and was told that it was from 3/(almost a year ago), and it was because I hadn't met my insurance deductibleI explained that I didn't have one, and reminded the new girl that I pay out of pocket, so there is no deductible because they're outside my networkThen she tells me it's from ***, which was my former ins companyI told her I didn't have *** then, I had my new insuranceThen when I checked out she tried telling me again that it was from my deductible from my new insuranceI called my insurance comp

On November 1, 2012 my son was seen at Dr. [redacted] office. I just recently received a bill from them in the amount of $119.30, and when I called, they said my son's claim was denied and that I have a balance due. Their insurance coordinator said that I had not received a bill because they had been sending it to the wrong address. Funny since we were patients since 2006 and left their practice in 2012 and had received numerous statements from them prior to this date. Upon review of my account, I had a credit of $164.30. [redacted], their insurance coordinator stated that she would transfer the balance and that would clear up the account. When I asked why I have not received a check from them, she said that we were inactive patients and they have no way of keeping up with who they owe money too. When I asked if she would be sending a check for the difference, she said they would not because the $45 would cover the billing costs for almost the last 3 years, which in that timeframe I only received one bill and it was August 2015. And I only received one phone call in Feb 2015 stating that we had a balance and that they were sending a bill. She also said that it would cover the interest that they didn't charge to the account. Upon further investigation, they filed this claim with our old insurance carrier and when the claim was denied, they did not contact me nor did they send a bill. She said it is too late to file with our military insurance and that it was the fault of our old insurance carrier so I will need to pay the balance. I wonder who else they have done this to. How many old patients have balances the dentist is keeping.Desired SettlementI feel like the dentist office dropped the ball and should reimburse me the $164.30. It is not my fault that they were sending the bill to the wrong address especially since we have received statements from them in the past. At a minimum, I should get the $45 balance on my account. Business Response Contact Name and Title:[redacted], DMDContact Phone:[redacted]Contact Email: [redacted]On 2/9/2015 we called the patient and she actually gave us a new address to send the bill on her son's account. After that date we sent 4 statements to the address she gave us. After the 4th statement she finally called to office at which time we told her to not worry about it because we will use the credit on her account to pay for her son's. The $45 difference does not cover the $10 fee per statement sent and the interest on the balance. It seems highly unlikely that [redacted] would not deliver 3 letters to the patient over the course of 5 months, and then suddenly decide to deliver the 4th one. But we will give the patient the benefit of a doubt and refund the $45. The check will be mailed to [redacted]. If [redacted] decides not to deliver her mail again she should call us to reissue the check.
