Wall Fixer Uppers Reviews (4)

It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for John and his associates at Wall Fixer Uppers. John and his crew recently finished some drywall and carpet repairs for me. His service is excellent and very professional. His rates are very reasonable, especially considering the quality of workmanship. After painting where he had patched the wall and blended the knockdown texture, the patch was unrecognizable. He had finished the carpet repair just hours after I had even asked him for a price quote. He kept in contact with me throughout the job, was very clear about the price and service, and made sure to leave everything as clean as it was when he arrived. I was very impressed that there was no mess left behind after the drywall job. I highly recommend Wall Fixer Uppers and truly believe that they put customer satisfaction as their number one priority.

I recently had the Wall Fixer uppers replace the roof on my shop. They did an exceptional job at a reasonable price. They exceeded my expectations in every way. They were very professional, any problems were communicated & explained in detail, & the craftsmanship & quality is some of the best I've seen. I usually do all this kind of stuff myself, but I don't like heights, otherwise I would have done it. I really had to swallow some pride to have someone else do a job I could do myself & I'm very happy I did. I would definitely recommend the Wall Fixer uppers to anyone who needs roofing done. You won't be sorry. Excellent job.

Review: Contract for replacement of porch roof received 8/29/2013, signed and 50% deposit of $ 3,625.00 mailed 9/4/2013. Work was scheduled for 9/23/2013, moved to 10/3/2013, then not scheduled at all. There was no response to emails or voice mails to [redacted] d/b/a Wall Fixer Uppers. During this time the room was unusable even though a new pellet stove had been purchased to heat the room. The roof was still leaking. Approx mid-October a crew of two sub-contractors showed up and tore off the entire roof. We were never told who they were, when they were coming, or what was expected. They arrived around 11 am and left by 5 pm for a total of 20 hours over a 2 week period before being called off to work other jobs in the interim. During this time all that was completed was the rough framing of the roof. Heavy rains come in, a third worker showed up and the three sub-contractors placed sub-layers over the framing and tarped the roof. The tarp leaked and the porch flooded. The next day, the guy that appeared to be lead sub-contractor appeared and covered the entire roof with a new tarp to stop the leaking. At this time he stepped through the house roof and discovered additional major damage that wasn't discovered during the initial process. I notified [redacted] via email on 10/19/2013 that his services were terminated and I would be looking for another contractor to complete the job. As of this date, our porch roof is still not finished because the costs of labor and materials were underestimated by at minimum $3,000. Our entire house roof also needs replacing as well as the trim and gutters which were not in the original estimate because [redacted] did not complete a a proper inspection. His promise to us was, 'If there is any cost overrun, I will personally eat those costs. That's just the kind of guy I am." Well, sorry, his subcontractors won't work under that same promise and walked off without completing the job because they weren't paid for their labor.Desired Settlement: On 10/23/2013 John was mailed a certified letter explaining his responsibilities under the Wisconsin Consumer Protection Laws, Home Improvement Transactions. ACTP110 requires any changes in a home improvement contract must be in writing, a) The dated by which, or the time periord within which, the seeller will begin and complete the work, 2) All warranties the seller makes for labor, services, products or materials furnished in connections with the home improvement.FAILURE TO COMPLETE PREPAID WORK ; Buyer's Remedies: a) Cancels the contract b) Demands returns of any prepayments that the seller has not yet spend on the buyers home improvements. The seller must return the prepayment within 15 days. c) Demands delivery of prepaid materials that the seller has purchased but not yet delivered d Demands a written accounting for all prepayments showing how the sesller used those payments. The seller must provide the accounting within 30 days. NOTICE OF DELAYS; A seller must give a buyer timely notice of any impending delay in contract performance if performance will be delayed beyond a deadline specified in the contract. PROVIDE THE BUYER WITH LIEN WAIVERS FROM ALL SUBCONTRACTORS AND MATERIAL SUPPLIERS BEFORE THE BUYER MAKES FINAL PAYMENT ON THE HOME IMPROVEMENT CONTRACT. Approx cost of Materials $1200. Labor costs 20 hours @ $ 55 1100 + $2300. Asking refund to pay for completion of porch $1325.00

Complaint ID: [redacted]

Wall Fixer Uppers is responding to the complaint made on 11/18/2013 to the Revdex.com by [redacted] at the address of [redacted].

On behalf of this company's response time, let it be stated that it is in the best interest of all, that complaints are competently handled

and receive a full on investigation of all parties involved, prior of

a determination by Wall Fixer Uppers.

At this time and based on Wall Fixer Uppers, co. findings we determined that mediation is the best resolve to the nature of projects conditions and the contractual agreement. The following list highlights the points in which reflect the reasons of rejection of Wall Fixer Uppers given decision.

· Weather being rainy and low temperatures due to autumn season.

Delayed project commencements on agreed dates set forth on contract

and were communicated in a timely method.

Reason: proper installation of adhesive used to do the rubber roof installation project. It is paramount to have clean surfaces, free of all debris and temperatures a minimum of 40* degrees. Cold temperatures change the physical properties of adhesives and sealants, and make roofing membranes stiffer and more difficult to work with. And compromises the integrity of workmanship and of adhesive product.

· Customer [redacted]'s unsatisfactory complaint is clearly stated once via email. This email was received October 15th 2013 at 8:36 AM. At this time any delayed or changed dates of project were effectively communicated to customer. As reflected within correspondences between Wall Fixer Uppers and the [redacted]'s from the beginning of originated contract agreement until [redacted]'s notification to cease project.

Reason: Wall Fixer Uppers concluded that [redacted]'s concerns and/or notification of unsatisfactory concerns of operations were found to lack diligence in their complaint; due to [redacted]'s stating they tried

without any prevail of response through emails and/or voicemails.

When in fact all phone conversations and emails up to Oct 15th of 2013

were pleasant and customer demonstrated an amicable understanding of any delays.

· Wall Fixer Uppers met with [redacted] from [redacted]. At this time Wall Fixer Uppers made an addendum to initial contract after findings of severe structural damage was found. When meeting with [redacted]; Wall Fixer Uppers acted as an advocate in the best interest of the [redacted]'s investment. Per meeting with [redacted], Wall Fixer Uppers were able to attain a greater financial coverage for project.

In respect to this project, a percentage was covered by [redacted] co., for the [redacted]'s it's at this time decided the complaint is disputable. Due to some of the costs of materials, labor and additional issues found by Wall Fixer Uppers were commensurate to the issued payees; Which were [redacted]'s and Wall Fixer Uppers by [redacted] co.

The initial contract stated the estimate for the initial project and was in compliance with the amount due and agreed upon by both parties. Further agreements were verbally made in regard to the addendum, prior to meeting with the [redacted]'s. All agreements were to be finalized in writing upon collection of West Bends issued check to both parties. The payment agreement was for half down as a deposit and the rest of the payment due upon completion of project.

Reason: The credibility of issued complaint is undergoing a thorough

investigation and has formed a professional conclusion that out of

these findings arbitration is the preeminent approach, respectfully to

uphold our customer's privacy and act with intent to demonstrate Wall

Fixer Uppers integrity.

In closing, Wall Fixer Uppers co., were willing to settle all matters

with [redacted]'s for a resolve. However, Wall Fixer Uppers were instructed by [redacted]'s to have no further contact with them. It was with a professional aptitude that a decision to dispute and/or resolve would be accompanied after legal council or mediation are involved and in effort to reach an agreement with the [redacted]'s.

Response:

I am writing to offer my strong recommendation for Mr. John [redacted], and his company Wall Fixer Uppers. [redacted] has performed several projects for me at two different properties, one a hundred plus year old Victorian home, and the other a newer town house condo. He painted walls and ceilings, including painting over wall paper, and detailed design painting. He fixed cracked plaster walls, and performed other repair projects. He was always pleasant, professional, and punctual. He worked long hours to get projects done promptly. I have been very pleased with his work, and plan to use him again in the future. Thank you for your consideration.
