Walls Irrigation, Inc. Reviews (5)

Revdex.com,I, [redacted], visited the home of Mr. and Mrs.[redacted] on January 3rd, 2015. The [redacted]'s have had a beautiful home builtwhich includes a Harman P68 pellet stove purchased from Walls Irrigation. Wecertainly appreciate the [redacted]'s business. The purpose of my visit was todisplay this appreciation and take immediate corrective action.Upon my inspection ([redacted]) and discussions with the [redacted]'s, Iagreed that it was unfortunate that the first pellet stove exhaust ventinginstallation was unsatisfactory and that the second time, although better, thatit was unfortunate that the original exhaust venting chase could not beused. This fact caused a loss of space in a downstairs closet andwithin an upstairs closet as well as an unpleasant "look". We,Walls Irrigation, should have insisted the contractor, whom did theinstallation and is not an employee or sub-contractor for Walls, meet with the[redacted]'s builder prior to the framing of the home to insure the exhaust ventingchase would be suitable to all parties.Essentially, the stove venting pipe was installed twice and a Walls employeewas attempting or stated that they were going to have to charge the [redacted]'sfor the additional venting pipe. Additionally, the stove installation contractorwas indicating that there would be an additional charge for labor from them. With the stove installed and the [redacted]'s request that any corrective actionto the closets and ceiling be handled by their building contractor, I ([redacted]
[redacted])
while still with the [redacted]’s in their home, stated a settlementoffer of which the [redacted]'s verbally accepted which was to "only chargefor what is ultimately installed in your ([redacted]'s) home and to remove any"additional" or "double" billing for parts and/orcontractor labor.Attached are documents for which we hope will clear upany questions.Page 1 – This invoicereflects materials and labor for what was used to complete the stoveinstallation. Also this is noted as “Paid”. This itemized list is consistentwith a “once and done” pellet stove installation.Page 2 & 3- This wasthe original invoice itemizing the original installation as well as theadditional materials required for the second attempt at an installation. Thisis our invoice and does not include charges for the stove installation contractor’slabor. Contractor labor charges would normally not be a part of our billing. The contractor would bill the customer themselves.Page 4 - This is the[redacted]’s down payment check for the stove and venting pipe only. At the timeof down payment the [redacted]’s were provided an “Estimate Only” for stoveinstallation.Page 5 – This check was acceptedby Walls Irrigation as final payment for the Harman P68 pellet stove as well ascontractor charges for the stove installation contractor’s labor. We at Walls Irrigation regret the incident happened andhopefully we have promptly remedied the situation.Sincerely,[redacted]

complaint ID [redacted]  There has not been a resolution to this matter.  For now the President of the company visited our house to see the poor quality of workmanship.  We are still awaiting a response on how this will be handled.  For now they have accepted a check I sent as payment in full for products used.  However, they have not responded on the installer's compensation for such unacceptable work.

Review: Despite installer being told a mantle would be located on the wall, he put a 60 inch black pipe from ceiling to location of pellet stove. When it was realized that the pipe would be a fire danger to the mantle, a repositioning of that pipe was requested from the front of the wall to the back which happened to be a closet. The reinstallation was not properly placed in the closet and will require additional expense to have drywall put around it. Plus, the second floor pipe was not placed in the chase as previously done. Instead he removed it from the chase and put that pipe in front of the chase and thus taking up closet space. Again, additional expense will be incurred to build a new drywall channel around the pipe.

Installer was rude to builder employee and did not take time to think about how to correct the problem and still be able to use the pipe system previously installed. Instead he tried to cut out the original pipe and ran a new system. If he had used part of the system already in place the second floor pipe would not have taken up closet space and still be in the channel system already there.

Pellet stove seller, [redacted] , insists that [redacted] did the job in a way that he thought would be correct. At no time did either man inform my husband, [redacted] or I of how the correction would be done or the expense that would be incurred. If either man had informed us, we would have stopped the second installation and arranged it to be done by someone who would have done the job through the channel already there and saved the space to the second floor closet.Desired Settlement: Less charge for the installer fee and refund on the black piping that was removed and never used. Plus an apology from the installer for his behavior towards the builder's employees at our house.
