Walmart Vision Centre

I went to Walmart in East Windsor, CT. They had my insurance information (Connecticare Medicare). I was under the assumption that I only had a $10 co-pay for the exam. The receptionist asked for $60…$10 for the exam and $50 for “refraction.” I insisted that was wrong, and canceled the appointment. Went home and called LensCrafters and was given an appointment. When I asked what the charge was, I was told $10. I then asked what the charge was for “refraction” and was told that it was covered under my insurance. I also contacted Connecticare, and was told the charge was only $10. This must be a scheme to make extra $$?

I purchased my daughters prescription glasses with the intent of having the lenses tinted, the gentleman I spoke to said the lenses were tintable and I could take them to any reputable eyeglass dealer and have it done there. When I picked up the glasses I spoke to the ladies who confirmed this option. I took them to [redacted] and they were leary to tint them because the lenses could possibly not be tintable. I had them call Walmart Vision Centre and they confirmed they were tintable. [redacted] attempted to tint the lense and the tint would not take due to coating on the lense preventing the tint. I went immediately back to Walmart Vision Centre and they refused to reimburse me, saying how did they know that I took it to a reputable eyeglass dealer, the gentleman had said [redacted] was a good option to have the lenses tinted.I contacted Walmart online and they have dragged this out saying that they would contact me and deal with the situation and have simply refused to respond to my attempts to contact them. I did provide the store with my receipt for my charge at [redacted] and had them photocopy the receipt.
