Walt Overly Contracting Reviews (5)

Do not use Walt "Buck" Overly! He took payment for our project and did not complete the contracted work Walt was contracted to tear down and rebuild a new deck in May This project was supposed to be completed on or around May 31st, As of March this project still has not been completed Walt had gone "missing" for long stretches of time and refused to communicate with us on the project status Walt took our money for the project and then didn't have money to pay for the balance of material...forcing us to cover an additional $in material that Walt said he would "repay" once he got back "on his feet" At this point, Walt has made no effort to contact us or finish the project for months We've called and texted him repeatedly and he's ignored everyone call or text a month We have now filed a civil suit against MrO*** If you google him, you will find similar complaints

Contracted with Walt Overly for construction of a deck on May 9th, The contract states an approximate completion date of May 31st,
MrOverly and his crew promptly removed the old decking However this was done without a dumpster being on site The old decking sat on site for three weeks before a dumpster finally arrived Framing began on the new deck within one week of the removal of the old deck Framing lasted a couple days and then everything came to a halt with the deck construction
A dumpster finally showed up in early June and the old decking was thrown in within hours The full dumpster then sat for several weeks because MrOverly needed to make payment to the dumpster company for removal
At this point the lying started MrOverly told us that we were waiting on material At the end of June we followed up with the supplier (Brookside Lumber) and learned that the material HAD NOT BEEN ORDERED YET At this point MrOverly began not communicati

Walt Overly is a criminal. Plain and simple. He steals money and does not compete the job. He should be in prison for repeating this behavior multiple times over the past 6 years.

Unfortunately we have had a very similar experience as the other reviewer on this website. We contracted Walt Overly to tear down and rebuild a deck in May of 2017. The contracted completion date was May 31st, 2017. It is now February 2018 and this simple project has not been completed. In fact we had to cover the cost of material after Walt couldn't cover the cost of the order to finish. Mr. Overly has repeatedly lied to us. Mr. Overly's communication has been beyond poor...often ignoring repeated calls and texts for weeks. I would highly recommend that anyone avoids contracting with Mr. Overly.

Review: We contracted [redacted] to do work on our home and backyard in the Spring of 2012. He had completed other work for us in the past and we were pleased with his work. His expected completion date for this project was the Fall of 2012. The work has been delayed several times, and the job is still not completed. We are now in the third year of the project and [redacted] has not given us a completion date, so we do not have full use of our yard. Communication from [redacted] has been poor. He rarely informs us of when he will do work and when we can expect the job to be completed. He often does not respond to phone calls, text messages, and certified letters we have sent. Each time he has requested funds, we have provided them. To date, we have paid 86% of the total cost of the job, yet substantially less than that percentage of the work has been done. We still need fill and soil added to our backyard, the backyard needs to be seeded, the sewer lines need to be exposed on the hillside, a fence needs to be installed, a french door, screen door, lighting, and steps need to be installed/constructed on the side of our home. We expect [redacted] to complete the job and to complete it well. We ask that he provides us with a completion date with financial penalties if he is unable to meet project target dates.Desired Settlement: We ask that [redacted]completes the job as agreed upon, with a date of completion given. If he does not complete the job within the specified amount of time, we believe there should be financial penalties in the form of reduced costs for us. If he is unable to meet this request, he should refund our money.
