When service work on the customer's motorcycle was completed in early May, we delivered it to his home while he was presentThe damage to the fender was not reported to us until around July 11, In addition to the substantial time lag
between delivery and reporting the damage, the motorcycle had also been ridden milesThe outgoing mileage when delivered was 15,The incoming mileage when inspecting the damage was 16,The customer has spoken with our service writer and our general manager stating that he was present when the motorcycle was delivered and that he had taken a trip on the motorcycle since it had been deliveredThere is a crease in the front fender that spans the entire width of the fenderIt is our opinion that had this damage occurred during or upon delivery, it would have been noticed by the customer and/or the delivery driverAs to the allegation of being insulted by ***, I can neither confirm nor deny this claim since I was not privy to this conversationHowever, I am attaching screen shots of the rude and profane text messages sent to ***'s personal cell phone by the customer after said phone conversationAs an attempt to reconcile this matter, we are offering the customer a $gift card to be used toward the repair of the fenderA copy of the letter with this offer, which is being sent to him today, is also attached
