Wantagh Touch Free Car Wash Reviews (1)

Review: When my honda pilot was done being cleaned at the wantagh car wash. The carpet in the rear had a tear. I went and spoke to [redacted] the manager. He wrote on a card and sighned it recognizing the damage. I had an estimate done for repair. Went back showed [redacted]...he said he would speak to owner and get back to me in 2 days. 4 days pass...I call ....[redacted] says they will not take care of the 540 dollar damage. I told him I was going to the car wash to call the police and make a report... he then had a "family member" call and threatened to come to my home and cause physical harm to me. I asked who he was...no answer...I asked if he was threatening me? The man repeated he was going to come to my home and inflict physical harm.Desired Settlement: Honda said they would do it for $588.00 plus tax...I would be willing to forgoe the installation and just replace the cargo door panel for $340.00 plus tax and install on my own. I also said if they can do it for a better price.. that's fine. As for the phone call...threatening me physically.... I don't know what to do. I'm in fear.

Response:

Dear Sir of Madam:

We have been the owners of the Car Wash for close to 2 years. We have never had a customer dissatisfied or someone we could not rectify a problem with. The reason for this is we haven't had fake claims before. If a customer is not pleased with our service we simply rewash the car or correct the issue no matter what it is if we consider us at fault.

Once a window broke and we immediately replaced it. Even though the window was a brittle plastic rear of a convertible and 28 years old, we thought it better to err on the side of the customer, even though we really didn't cause the break. We didn't hesitate to reimburse the customer. However, this situation is totally different.

This customer came in once before and claimed his car wasn't washed well and wanted it washed again. So why come back again. The answer is he came back to make a false claim.

The rip he has could never be caused by our vacuums. Our vacuums have soft round edges and in the 30 years the wash is open we have never had any claims of rips. It is in a place that also would not be tearing and his SUV was loaded with construction debris. Nails and dirt were strewn around the back of the vehicle when he showed it to us and said we ripped it earlier in the day.

Our car wash is run with a very high commitment to customer service and if there was any possible remote way we could have done this we would pay for the repair, but from looking at it we could tell this did not happen at our wash. 100 % Impossible and the threat of ruining our reputation through an internet campaign are equal to extortion. Please reject this claim.

Please read our manager's letter we have also sent you, with his statement regarding [redacted] claims.

Response:

Dear [redacted]:

I have read the letter from [redacted].

He seems to be very eager to try and get us to change our stance. I have taken the time to review any and all possibility that this could have occurred at my car wash. I have spoken to my manager and he has again spoken to all staff members, as well as looking at all equipment and he is certain that the damage [redacted] wants us to pay for or acknowledge we caused, could not be caused by our business.

My manager does recall that [redacted]'s last visit resulted in his request for a free service after he complained and yet he returned again.

It is our opinion that this is his strategy and we have decided not to allow [redacted] to push us into submitting to his pressure tactics such as these letters he is writing to the Revdex.com and his threats to wage an internet campaign.

We are 100% positive these claims he makes are false and we stand by this emphatically. We have a great track record of pleasing our customers and our history is evidence of that.

I will call [redacted] myself because he also alludes to the fact that I have not called him and he seems to want that, so I will do so now on September **, 2013 at 5:20 pm. I left a message on [redacted]'s answering machine and told him I will call again this evening.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

am truly embarrassed that I have to take more time out of my life to address the situation pertaining to the Wantagh Touch Free Car Wash. [redacted] once again, has composed a letter that lacks in integrity as well as honesty. I will once again address the points of ignorance he has spewed out in another gathering of written minutia.

First off… I will say that after wasting a least 8 hrs of my time, whether it be going to file in small claims court as well as going to small claims court, [redacted] and his business have paid me the sum of $355.00. As soon as [redacted] (the manager) was asked if he would pay the sum… he agreed to it. So thank-you [redacted] for wasting all of our time. He also keeps mentioning that I complained on a previous date about lack of service and that I received a free wash. True, and I still have the card that I was given and I never used. I was neglectful in that I never told my wife not to return. He also speaks of pressure tactics that I have used? Pressure tactics? I have every right to use my social networks to warn my friends and family about the services I received from a sub-par car wash that calls me and threatens to come to my home and physically harm me. (from a restricted #)

He also claims I alluded to the fact he has not contacted me. His incorrect use of vocabulary is somewhat entertaining. [redacted], to allude is to refer to casually or indirectly. I was very direct in stating that he has not once contacted me since the incident. But he did finally call on September [redacted], 3 months after the incident. Let me point out it was also from a restricted phone #, just as were my 3 threatening phone calls sited in my previous letter. He left no return #, and never called again. This is just another example of his lack of business integrity.

In the end I swear by all my statements. My car will be restored to its previous condition. I hope this is the end of my relationship with [redacted] and his sub-par business. If he feels the need to respond to this letter I will be more than happy to retort his claims of ignorance. Once again, thank-you for your time.

Sincerely,

[redacted]
