Warrenton Foreign Car, Inchas been in business for over forty years and have been well known for our excellent workmanship, trust-worthiness, and honesty in dealing with customersTherefore we were very saddened to learn that we have a dissatisfied customer. Ms*** scheduled an

Upon diagnosing Ms***'s vehicle for the rough idle and engine oil leak we determined the repairs required to correct these issues and gave Ms*** an estimate, which she approvedWe proceeded with the repairs and during this time did lower the left front window, which is our policy for safety reasons and to eliminate keys being locked in vehicles while inside our shopWhen our technician attempted to raise the window, we found the window regulator had broken also scratching the non-factory installed window tintWindow regulators in *** **'s are inherently problematicThis was not a case of negligence, but simply of being the next person to operate the windowHad we not lowered the window then it would have broken the next time Ms*** attempted to use itOur service manager, Scott Mesick attempted to explain this and gave her an estimate to repair it while it was already in our shopShe declined the repairs at which time we removed the door panel, manually raised the window and notified her not to operate the windowShe was not charged for this procedure. Ms***'s vehicle is fifteen years old with approximately 200,miles on itAs you can see by the recommendations on her invoice we did notice numerous repairs that her vehicle will requireWe did not notice any transmission leak on the initial visit perhaps due to the extensive oil leak which we corrected. The underside of this vehicle was saturated with oil which would have made any other leaks undetectable by us or the customerThe underside of the vehicle was cleaned to pinpoint the oil leak which may have also cleaned off any transmission leakage at the timeAs soon as we were informed that the customer had noticed leaks under her vehicle, we asked her to bring the vehicle in as soon as was convenient for her so that we could check for any leaksDuring this return visit a very minimal transmission leak was discoveredNo other leaks were found and fluid levels were not lowWe did ask her to put the paper mat under her vehicle to see if any leaks appearedIt is not unusual for a vehicle of this age and mileage to have multiple fluid leaksWe did not hear back from Ms***, even after attempting to contact her to follow up and notify her that a part she ordered had arrived. As far as her passenger mirror and fog lights being inoperative, we did not perform any repairs in this area and do not know whether they were working at the time of her visitThese items were not mentioned on her return visit or our service manager would have checked these as well. We can only ascertain that the transmission leak had not been noticed before our repairs due to the major oil leak which had totally saturated the underside of the vehicleWe did not perform any repairs for transmission leaks but would be happy to re-evaluate the leak for Ms*** at no charge and inform her of any corrective measures that may be neededWe would also be willing to investigate why her passenger mirror and fog lights are not working even though we did not perform any repairs in these areas eitherThe customer was already given a fair estimate on the replacement of the window regulatorEven though it was unfortunate that the regulator broke while the vehicle was in our possession, we cannot accept responsibility as this was not our fault, but simply a case of the next person attempting to operate the window. We have many female customers and they come to us because they trust us to perform only necessary repairs at a competitive priceWe are often complimented on our honesty and integrity, and in our almost forty-three years of business have never taken advantage of a customer or been accused of doing soWe receive positive ratings on a daily basis. Please advise us or have Ms*** contact us should she wish to have any of the aforementioned items evaluated

The vehicle was in Foreign Auto possession when the window broke. I never had problems with that window before it went into the shop so it was not just the next person putting the window down but the work done to my car I was informed you had to take some parts of the motor or computer programmed part of my car off, which could of off set some of the fuses. Of some sort excuse me for not knowing mechanical terms but I do know common sense, maybe to make my fog lights not work as well as my mirror. Its just strange that I take my car in to get fix an it gets returned with more issues then what It went in for. If you we in my shoes how would you feel? The year has nothing to do with what went on in taking care of my vehicle. I personal made a complaint because I was un happy, but at the end of the day only God Knows what really happened. I wouldnt make any of this up just to make it up I'm a very honest person an I would want other people to be honest as well. From all your 40 years of experience I shouldnt of had to come back to get my car re-set they couldn't even think to do that right. I will never return but I do Thank you for your effort. Now a days people don't admit their mistakes, so I understand fully.

Review: I got my car towed to Warrenton Foreign Car In warrenton, because my car would turn on but it would idle rough as well as a bad oil leak. A week pior I had to fix my serpentine belt that had broke on me at merchants in warrenton they advised me of my oil leak (ONLY) 2001 [redacted] 3.0L. Foreign Car contacted me a couple days later after they ran a full diagnosed to let me know what the issuses were after I was quoted an estimate I gave authorization to go ahead an proceed to fixing the rough idle and oil leak. In the mean time I had a rental from enterprise an warrenton that they were going to cover while they were working in my car. A day later I recieve a voicemail saying my driver window regalator broke (which was working fine before It went into the shop so im not sure why it broke till this day ) I called Foreign back an asked them if they can get it stable they said yes. They did not say how it broke or even say they will fix it since it wasnt pereviously broken. 3 days later I go to pick my ** up pay 1,500$ for 576$ check rough idle 384$ for preform scan codes replance crankcase vent valve an replace air mass meter boot etc. an leave in my ** 2 mins of driving I notice my dials were set to C° an not F° so I turn around and let them know...they reset it back to F°. The next day I'm walking to my car from work an notice 2 leaks under my ** (bluish and Red color leaks) & my window tint was scrated, an my passenger mirror will not adjust I have to manually move & no use of fog lights. I then call Foreign auto they said to swing by so I did...They checked it out and said nothing is leaking! I told them I'm not crazy there is something leaking. They go back out an check again.... Comes back and says "oh it's just a minor transmission leak" and they sent me on my way with paper to put under my car at night to bring back the next day. I never went back because I was so dissatisfied I know Im a lady an I dont everything but I do feel tooken advantage of an lack of honesty an care withDesired Settlement: I would like my window Fixed as well as an explanation on why there is a minor transmission leak when there wasnt a leak for trans before an why my passenger mirror doesnt work as well as my fog lights. I dont know why I out my car in the shop an came home with more issue?

Response:

Warrenton Foreign Car, Inc. has been in business for over forty years and have been well known for our excellent workmanship, trust-worthiness, and honesty in dealing with customers. Therefore we were very saddened to learn that we have a dissatisfied customer. Ms. [redacted] scheduled an appointment for her car on November 17, 2015 as this was our next available appointment on the day that we were contacted. She personally reserved a rental car on November 13, 2015 as her vehicle was running rough and should not be driven. Her vehicle was towed to us on the afternoon of her appointment date at which time she notified us she was in a rental vehicle. We informed her that we offer a discounted rate of $24.95 on economy rental cars for the day or days that we are actually working on a customer's vehicle. Any additional days, fees or upgrades are the responsibility of the customer. Enterprise Rental Company converted her invoice to our name so that we could extend this discount to Ms. [redacted]. Upon completion of repairs, we were told by Enterprise that we were being billed for four days. Since repairs were completed in three days, we billed Ms. [redacted] at the discounted rate of $24.95 for three days and at the full rate for one day in the amount of$39.91. Upon diagnosing Ms. [redacted]'s vehicle for the rough idle and engine oil leak we determined the repairs required to correct these issues and gave Ms. [redacted] an estimate, which she approved. We proceeded with the repairs and during this time did lower the left front window, which is our policy for safety reasons and to eliminate keys being locked in vehicles while inside our shop. When our technician attempted to raise the window, we found the window regulator had broken also scratching the non-factory installed window tint. Window regulators in [redacted]'s are inherently problematic. This was not a case of negligence, but simply of being the next person to operate the window. Had we not lowered the window then it would have broken the next time Ms. [redacted] attempted to use it. Our service manager, Scott Mesick attempted to explain this and gave her an estimate to repair it while it was already in our shop. She declined the repairs at which time we removed the door panel, manually raised the window and notified her not to operate the window. She was not charged for this procedure. Ms. [redacted]'s vehicle is fifteen years old with approximately 200,000 miles on it. As you can see by the recommendations on her invoice we did notice numerous repairs that her vehicle will require. We did not notice any transmission leak on the initial visit perhaps due to the extensive oil leak which we corrected. The underside of this vehicle was saturated with oil which would have made any other leaks undetectable by us or the customer. The underside of the vehicle was cleaned to pinpoint the oil leak which may have also cleaned off any transmission leakage at the time. As soon as we were informed that the customer had noticed leaks under her vehicle, we asked her to bring the vehicle in as soon as was convenient for her so that we could check for any leaks. During this return visit a very minimal transmission leak was discovered. No other leaks were found and fluid levels were not low. We did ask her to put the paper mat under her vehicle to see if any leaks appeared. It is not unusual for a vehicle of this age and mileage to have multiple fluid leaks. We did not hear back from Ms. [redacted], even after attempting to contact her to follow up and notify her that a part she ordered had arrived. As far as her passenger mirror and fog lights being inoperative, we did not perform any repairs in this area and do not know whether they were working at the time of her visit. These items were not mentioned on her return visit or our service manager would have checked these as well. We can only ascertain that the transmission leak had not been noticed before our repairs due to the major oil leak which had totally saturated the underside of the vehicle. We did not perform any repairs for transmission leaks but would be happy to re-evaluate the leak for Ms. [redacted] at no charge and inform her of any corrective measures that may be needed. We would also be willing to investigate why her passenger mirror and fog lights are not working even though we did not perform any repairs in these areas either. The customer was already given a fair estimate on the replacement of the window regulator. Even though it was unfortunate that the regulator broke while the vehicle was in our possession, we cannot accept responsibility as this was not our fault, but simply a case of the next person attempting to operate the window. We have many female customers and they come to us because they trust us to perform only necessary repairs at a competitive price. We are often complimented on our honesty and integrity, and in our almost forty-three years of business have never taken advantage of a customer or been accused of doing so. We receive positive ratings on a daily basis. Please advise us or have Ms. [redacted] contact us should she wish to have any of the aforementioned items evaluated.
