Our response is as follows:
[redacted] contacted me via e-mail on July 31 st regarding the aforementioned vehicle failing the

similar to what we received from him. [redacted] also mentioned that he was going to contact
the Virginia State Police in his e-mail to us as well.
We responded to [redacted] advising him that we too had contacted the Virginia State Police,

an opportune meeting time to inspect the vehicle.

conversation with [redacted]. It was communicated to us and [redacted] that there would not be
any further investigation into the failed inspection by the Virginia State Police of the vehicle's

Review: starting appx 2-3 years ago after a bad experience with Warrenton [redacted] I requested to be removed from all communications lists and asked that they cease and desist communicating with me. Those communications have yet to stop today, I received a letter from them on 9/12 where they somehow found our new address in a different state suggesting we purchase from them again, I called that same day to complain and was told I could "maybe" be removed from lists and would hear from a manager. On 9/15 [redacted] called and assured me it was a "mixup" and I was now removed from all lists. Today (10/9) I was called by a call center stating they are calling all of Warrenton [redacted] "preferred customers" about "special deals" and asking that I come look at their vehicles. I told the caller that I had been told by Mr.[redacted] I was off all lists, and she said it must have not been removed. The call center number was [redacted]Desired Settlement: This business needs to cease and desist all means of contact with me to include electronic means, phone calls, text messages, and mailings by them and all hired third party call centers as requested by me numerous times. If this business fails to do so I will investigate my legal rights and means to enforce this request.

Review: This is the email I wrote to the dealership General Manager [redacted]:

Dear [redacted] I wanted to reach out to you before I file a Revdex.com complaint against your service department. Please let me explain my situation.

First of all, I do a lot of work on my vehicles myself, the bigger jobs I let the pro’s handle. So I know my cars in and out and I keep a close eye on them.

My wife’s [redacted] started sweating power steering fluid probably 3 years ago. (A problem very common with these vans as you know). Now this leak never caused a drop to hit the ground, only sweat where the boot on the passenger side would get dirty. So every time I changed the oil, I would clean the boot and spray all my boots with silicone to keep them from dry rotting/cracking. Early on, I would have to add a very small amount of power steering fluid once a year, then I started adding a small amount of power steering fluid stop leak, and I have not had to add fluid for a while now. Please keep in mind that this car is garage kept and I would know immediately if it ever dropped anything on my floor.

So the evening of 7/29/14 my wife brought her van to your service department for 2 recalls and then she also had them do a state inspection. (your shop had previously advised her about the rack, and she advised them that I knew about it and was watching it). So they call her yesterday and told her that “the rack was bad and failing inspection, but for an investment of around $1500.00 they could fix it today and pass inspection and that it was rapidly deteriorating.” Now, I have been watching this for several years and at no point was it rapidly deteriorating. I write down in my log every time I have to do anything to my cars. So I called [redacted] and said that a sweaty boot should not fail inspection, but he said they were failing it. So I drove by the shop yesterday and looked under the car, and what do you know, fluid running out of rack and puddle under car. I went over to the spot where we dropped it off, and there was not a puddle of fluid. So, there is not fluid in my garage, driveway, the spot where we dropped it off, but now there is a puddle where they parked it and the boot is now ripped.

I have taken pictures of everything, and I will go under car tonight and determine what was done to make the leak worse. What I am guessing is that the initial leak put some fluid in the boot, but with the small amount of stop leak had either stopped or considerately slowed the leak and your technician ripped the boot and now the fluid ran out.

I called [redacted] back to give them the benefit of the doubt and asked if their tech did anything to make the problem worse, and he advised me that they did not touch it, only looked at it. I am a pretty thorough person, and trust me if the car had ever leaked this would not be an issue and I would of just said no thank you and I will have it fixed elsewhere. But I honestly believe that this was either a criminal issue where technicians are drumming up business on state inspections, or at the very least a mistake covered up that caused the issue to get much worse to “fail” the inspection.

So, in conclusion, I did not have any troubles with this van other than a sweaty passenger side boot( have not had to add fluid in reservoir since the stop leak in probably a year and a half and the total amount of fluid I have ever added was very minimal since I noticed the problem in 2011 or 2012). This van has about 74,000 miles and I had the steering rack problem under control and I believe I had some time before I was going to have to replace it. VA State Inspection states that it must be obviously leaking and the fluid level must be below operational levels. I did not have a leak ever before, not one drop, and I do not now. The only time there was a fluid release was when the technician slit the boot allowing the trapped fluid to be released. I have since cleaned the boot, taken pictures of the slice, and have tried to get the rack to leak but I cannot. I now have a non-leaking rack with a nice rubbery boot with a slice in it and a failed inspection sticker.

I have since replaced the rack myself and sent it to a shop for a front end alignment. When I had the old rack out, I could not rip the old boot. It was still very rubbery and would not rip. I even tried to rip the slice but it would not rip evenly, would only go up the rib of the boot in a very jagged manor using a great deal of force. I have a lot of pictures, and I honestly believe that the technician was trying to cover himself by failing something that should not of failed by slicing the boot. The fluid that was under my car at the dealership was a bright red in color (ATF). The fluid in the van's system is more of a brown color because of the stop leak. So the fluid that was allowed to escape by cutting the boot was either from the initial leak that started in 2011 and was trapped in boot, or was poured on the rack.Desired Settlement: I am really not sure how they can settle this. They have cost me a lot of time, money, and energy and it could of been totally avoidable. I understand that one day I would of been replacing that rack, but I did not need the service technicain trying to drum up business on a State Inspection. If someone sat down and looked at all the evidence I have, there would be no doubt in their mind that the technician cut the boot. If they reimburse me for what I have paid for the rack and the front end alignment, then I think that would go a long way towards satisfying me.

Review: I took my car in for an oil change. the technician came out and said my new 15000 miles [redacted] needed new rear brakes and the oil was “way low” I told him I was not having any issues with the car and it was a brand new car. I went to talk to the service [redacted] who said they was nothing wrong with my brakes and that the oil was low but did not know why. He was rude and never gave me his name. I called Toyota manufactures 800 number and they said someone would call me in 48-72 hours to resolve this. This same [redacted] called me and said “he hated being lied on!” He said he had giving me his name. It went on from there then he told me that I should go to another Toyota dealer he was not willing to “deal” with me. I told him I was under warranty and would go where I bought the car. Six months later its time for another oil change… I’m still under warranty for free oil changes and maintenance. I called to make an appointment the [redacted] dealer and the man at the dealership said there was a note in the system saying I was no longer welcomed to come there. I called the manufactures again no one called me so I called again and the manufactures told me the [redacted] of [redacted] Toyota did not want me at his dealership! I called [redacted] Toyota and made an appointment and the [redacted] called me back to tell me I was also not welcomed there!Desired Settlement: I only wanted the owner to call and hear my side of the story! It’s outrageous I have been treated like this! I feel as Toyota does not care at all about its customers.
