Washington Deluxe Bus Service Reviews (5)

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Washington Deluxe Bus Service regarding complaint ID [redacted], however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:...

every time they have called me, I have not been available and their voicemail does not leave a call back number.  They have called me two or three times, and have never left a call back number.  To me, they are doing their best to avoid answering my complaint and addressing the problem.  The last time I received a message from them was over a week ago.

Review: I purchased a ticket to travel from New York City to Washington, DC on a deluxe bus. When the bus arrived, it was not the deluxe bus that was advertised by Washington Deluxe Bus Service. Had they made it clear that it was possible that I would pay extra money for a deluxe but and get a standard bus, I would have opted to take a different bus.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of the full amount I paid.

Sincerely,

Review: I was unable to use my bus ticket last Friday, 6/** because the bus was incredibly late. Washington Deluxe claimed the driver was stuck in traffic, but I saw three other buses from competing bus lines come and leave while I was waiting, and I was not convinced. This was the third time in two weeks that my bus was late for no good reason, and I ended up staying in NYC and missing my trip. The week before, the driver took a strange detour to meet someone in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and we ended up being an hour late. That same weekend, on my return trip I arrived at the bus stop on time, but was not allowed to board the first bus that left on time. I was asked to wait for a second bus, which not surprisingly got me home an hour late. So, no longer trusting Washington Deluxe to get me where I needed to go, I hoped that I'd be able to get a refund for my round-trip ticket. I called on Saturday 6/** and didn't get an answer; as of today 6/**, nobody has called me back. I emailed to ask for a refund, and received a response on 6/**. I was given the option to rebook my tickets for a later date, but I'd have the pay the difference in any prices. I asked if I could just have a refund, because I missed my trip, and I didn't want to book another trip that would likely be ruined by delays. Instead of answering my question, the customer service rep, who didn't give me a name, used my email to start an argument. S/he said I was wrong, that the buses had all left on time, and gave me no options for fixing the situation. I asked once more if s/he was willing to discuss a refund, and received no reply. I tried to be civil and patient; I have no desire for an argument, but I resent being called a liar and being ignored. The customer service rep is likely unauthorized to issue a refund, but I'm hoping that by filing a Revdex.com Complaint I can get through to someone who can help me.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund for the bus trip I was unable to take on 6/** and 6/**. My reservation numbers are #[redacted] and #[redacted]. I was charged $52.50.

Review: In March of 2013, my wife and I purchased two round trip tickets from Washington D.C. to New York through the Washington Deluxe website. Due to an illness in the family, we were unable to take the trip as planned. My wife called Washington Deluxe and, through the direction of the customer sales rep, placed both of our round trip tickets on hold to use at another time within a year.

Fast forward to January of 2014, I wanted to use our tickets which were on hold to take a trip to NY. Upon going to the website and trying to reserve my tickets using the Hold Number given to us by the customer sales rep in March 2014, I noticed I was only able to use my credit for a one way ticket to NY. The customer sales rep had only credited half of our trip in March 2013 when she was supposed to place the entire round trip ticket on hold as we requested. I called the same day I was trying to make this round trip reservation (Jan. ** 2014) and spoke to [redacted] to complain that we should have a round trip ticket to redeem, not a one way ticket. She did not want to listen and, not only was she extremely rude and argumentative, she kept insisting it was our fault for not placing the reservation on hold as a round trip ticket. When I informed her that the original reservation was made as a round trip ticket and the lady we spoke to back in March told us she had placed the entire trip on hold, she still insisted it was my fault. When I asked to speak to a [redacted], she told me you were not in the office that and that I would have to send an email to [redacted] This lady's poor customer service and attitude are a poor reflection of your company, with whom we have traveled with before multiple times without any issues.

I emailed these people 3 separate times and finally received a phone call from someone named [redacted] who stated she had placed our tickets on hold. This is not what I asked for, since I felt I should be credited the $53 I had to spend to book two one-way tickets from NY to DC. I called her back to ask for this credit, and she stated she'd have to ask her [redacted]. I never got a phone call back from her after that. Last week, I sent yet another email and someone called me that same day and left me a voicemail at home, stating they would try me again another time. Once again, I have yet to hear from anyone since that phone call.

I don't understand why this has become so difficult, and the poor customer service and follow up phone calls are an embarrassment to your company. As their are several other bus companies and options available to travel round trip from DC to NY, I can assure you this is my last trip with Washington Deluxe. I plan to share this terrible experience with anyone I know to ensure people explore their options before dealing with your company. This is absolutely ridiculous and I hope people who read this complaint on the Revdex.com website learn something from it.Desired Settlement: I want my entire trip refunded at this point, not just the one way ticket. The refund amount would be $106.

Review: Hi, I have called this company and emailed them several times for a refund that I requested since 9/**/2013. The incident started as follows: I had purchase a ticket through [redacted] for washington deluxe and when I got there the washington deluxe representative stated that there was a problem with the [redacted] website and that it was reserving spots on the bus that were already taken. This person named [redacted], spoke with her supervisor on the phone and [redacted] agreed to honor a refund for $100 if we decided to take the train back to NY. Now ever since this time I have been requesting my refund. Each time I call I get a costumer rep telling me that they will speak to their supervisor and that they will contact me back or I could call back. Each time I keep waiting and waiting for a call or an email and nothing. About a couple of weeks ago I asked again about the status and they said that a check had already been sent. However I have not received it in the mail. It has been about three months and nothing. I need someone to contact these people and find out where my money is. I have been misled many times and don't want to go through that road again.Desired Settlement: Mail my refund via check with a tracking number or some sort of delivery confirmation.
