Washington Hyundai Reviews (2)

Review: I had my 2013 Elantra inspected at Washington Hyundia/Auto Mall on 8/17/2015. It had 5662 miles on it. I installed winter tires on it today 10/25/2015 and it now has 5997 miles on it. I had a very hard time in loosening the lug nuts. I tried standing on a18 inch long breaker bar and the nuts would not loosen. I weight over 200 lbs. and that means that those nuts were torqued to over 200 ft.-lbs. The owner’s manual (page 6-18) would have those nuts torqued to 65-79 fl-bs. I finally had to use a floor jack to apply enough torque to loosen the nuts. I have photos and videos. I do not believe that the car is safe to drive considering that the nuts were so badly over torqued.

They did the same thing last year but not as bad. I specifically asked them to use a torque wrench and caution when I dropped the car off for the inspection. They obviously did not do that.

I complained to the dealership and the Manager, Gary Flannery, denies that they have a problem and will not return my call or emails.Desired Settlement: The dealership needs to acknowledge the problem and replace the lug nuts and bolts, and the rotors, if necessary.

Review: The service department of my dealership repaired a fuel pump on my vehicle, which was then not covered via warranty because of a gel like substance found in my gasoline. Therefore I had to get my insurance company involved because they advised me that my vehicle was vandalized. I called the gas station where I had purchased the gasoline two days prior to the vehicle going into the shop. There was no complaints about their pumps, as they were brand new pumps. The vehicle originally was towed to the shop for a transmission issue, which I told hyundai roadside assistance as well as the service department at Washington Hyundai. The service I have received at the service department of this dealership is completely unsatisfactory. The service manager talked to me as if I were stupid. I called the general manager of the dealership a week ago regarding this issue, as well as Hyundai customer care. Hyundai had no answers for me and the general manager never returned my phone call, after a week! The issue of the matter is that I am stuck with a $500 dollar bill because this service department cannot properly do their job, as well as try to "pull a fast one" on customers. I believe the mechanics put some sort of chemical in my gasoline because the car had plenty of power and was running fine until the transmission issue arose. Something has to be done. I looked to Hyundai, the gas station where the gas was purchased, as well as the general manager of the dealership for answers on this issue and other than the gas station, I have no answers.Desired Settlement: Something has to be done with this issue. It doesn't matter if the dealership is responsible for the $500 bill I have from my insurance company, or an outcome involving the dealership and or Hyundai getting me out of this excuse of a vehicle.
