Review: Basically the apartment complex controls/caps the heat here. The current digital thermostats, which are new/just installed a few months ago, are locked by the complex and cannot be raised beyond 72 degrees. Some people like their homes to be 73, some 75, and so on, and this personal control has been taken away from us as tenants. On top of that, the current "boiler based" heating system either cannot "keep up" on cold days, or it too, like the individual thermostats in the apartments, is being "capped" possibly to save the complex money (?). I have personally made several complaints of this, and the fact that even when our capped thermostat is set at it's max of 72, the temperature in our apartment gradually decreases overnight so that we wake up to an apartment that is 65 degrees (not comfortable), and that this very circumstance has occurred numerous occasions as well. This is unacceptable and especially for the amount of rent they charge here and the fact our rent is raised each year (now over $1100/month for a 2 bdrm) and we are expected to just accept that fact. For what it is worth this is not just occurring in our apartment as I've spoken to a few maintenance crew members here and they report the same exact issues there.Desired Settlement: Repair to the heating system that will actually heat units to 72 when the thermostat is set on 72 and "uncapping" the individual thermostats so tenants can set it to 73, or 74, or whatever they feel is comfortable to them personally. This should also be done without "punishing" tenants involved by increasing their current rent in an attempt to "recoup" any cost(s) the complex may incur by properly repairing this ongoing repetitive issue.

Review: I lived in Washington Way Apartments...was never late on my rent, was quiet and didn't cause any problems. When I moved out I left my apartment in perfect condition...better then when I moved in and Washington Way kept $138 of my security deposit for damages that did not exist. They also did this to a neighbor of mine so I am concerned this is a regular practice for them. My apartment had no damage to it and I want my $138 returned to me.Desired Settlement: I want the $138 returned to me.
