If I could give it a zero I would. This is the 3rd watch I have purchases from them. My son received the watch as a gift for Christmas from me. I called Watchmaxx in December after my son opened the gift. (the box said do not open so I didn't). The band had a big scratch on it. I did chat with customer service and asked for a callback from a manager. Never got a callback. I fell ill after that and called today. The manager came on the line and did not introduce himself or offer any kind of help for a regular customer. Regular customers should be given extra priority. My son is an attorney and takes care of his things. He reported it defective the minute his gift was opened. Watchmaxx has TERRIBLE rude customer service and they do NOT care about their customers. A 1 month return is not manageable or worthwhile. this allows them to get away with ripping off the consumer with defective products. DO NOT SHOP HERE!

Very restrictive shipping policy prevented delivery and WatchMaxx.com LLC said it would not refund shipping cost, as it was the customers fault for not reading the fine print on the shipping method (UPS, requiring signature of 21yo).

Bought an expensive watch on Watchmaxx.com and it was fulfilled by Amazon.com. Shipped via UPS. After several attempts to have it signed for by next-door neighbor, UPS was obligated not to deliver to neighbor for signature because a box was checked by sender (Watchmaxx.com) disabling neighbor signature.

So, another call to UPS revealed the item was returned to sender without my ability to pick it up. So, it was sent back to Watchmaxx.com for credit. Watchmaxx.com deducted $15.00 (shipping I guess).

I did not see anything on the Watchmaxx.com website to indicate that they would restrict delivery ONLY to address and prevent neighbor signature, as is customary for UPS shipments.

I want the full refund. Watchmaxx.com's non-customary delivery practice was not clearly stated and it prevented me from taking delivery, although I contacted UPS on two occasions to try to remedy this.

Review: I do not buy many watches. The watch I recently bought from watchmaxx.com was my second in ten years or more. I bought the Hamilton vetura xxl auto [redacted] because it was unique. I paid $942+. $942+!!!!! For that price I would expect 100% satisfaction, but I wasn't. I wore it for ONE DAY and set it down. When I picked it up again, it had stopped so I thought it was defective. the rep at watchmaxx told me that because it was an 'automatic' it had to continually be worn or put in a winding box to keep it running or have to reset it each time. AUTOMATIC seems to be the key word. For the casual watch buyer I look at AUTOMATIC and think just that, it works automatically. But no, that isn't the case. The rep pointed out that there was a glossary of terms but I would say "you don't know what you don't know". Why would I look it up when I thought I knew the meaning. this was my first contact with a watchmaxx rep. I then asked to talk to a manager and was told one would have to call back. I waited; no call. I called again and, again, was told a manager would call back. I waited; no call. I did that a third time today and finally talked with a manager and got all the excuses about why they couldn't take back a watch that had been worn, even if only for one day. Why is it that I can take home clothes and return them if they don't fit, or buy an apple computer and have the ability to return if not satisfied. Remember, I paid $942+!!! I know the policy says that a watch can not be returned if it has been worn (they can't resell it; there might be a hair on it or a finger smudge i'm told). For a price of close to $1,000, I want to LOVE the watch and i'm not satisfied if I have to continually reset the time.Desired Settlement: I'm only asking to be able to return the watch and get a refund on my credit card.

Response:

Hi, We are sorry about the customers misunderstanding with the definition of AUTOMATIC movement, we worked extremely hard to put together a watch glossary on the site so all information is readily available to our customers. We also apologize that the managers weren't available at the times he called, we strife for customer service and yesterday being right before valentines day was extremely busy. Unfortunately a watch that's worn even for a few hours has some sign of wear and we can NOT sell this again as brand new, only as a dealer display.

[Your Answer Here]

Obviously, I am disappointed in the company's response. While the company responded by saying "we stri(v)e for customer service", I would hope they, like any other business, mean that they strive for 100% customer satisfaction. That being said, I was told by the various company reps that they could do nothing with a watch that had been worn "even if only for a few hours". However, by their own admission in their response, they do, indeed, have an option for using the watch, to use it as "a dealer display". So it seems that both objectives can be reached with a refund, 1- I can be 100% satisfied and 2- the watch can be used as a dealer display. And regardless of what they have told me, I can guarantee that there are NO signs of wear on this watch other than a slight creases in the band which can be changed.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: I don't agree with charging a 'restocking' fee for a watch you're not actually going to restock for resale but if you are going to charge, then charge a reasonable fee. You admit yourself that because you don't have a refund policy for what you call "used" watches, you had to determine a 'restocking'fee, a fee of 20% ,which I see as excessive and arbitrary. There is clearly no justification for the 20% fee you want to charge. If you must charge, then why would you not charge the same 3% restocking fee as you charge for the return of an 'unused' itemI still challenge you to take my watch and find anything that shows of 'wear'.

Response:

We are truly sorry but once a watch is worn it voids the return policy as stated clearly on our website.

Review: I purchased a $2350 dollar watch from WatchMaxx in mid May 2015. The watch did not keep proper time from the moment I received the watch. I reached out to WatchMaxx for a RA# to erturn the watch as they stated that they had a 30 day return policy. After several requests for the RA# I received one and returned the watch, but they wouldn't honor the return policy because they received the watch after the 30 days had lapsed. I explained to them that the only reason it was >30 days was because they wouldn't issue a RA# in a timely fashion. The offered to repair the watch but said it would take 3-4 months to diagnose the problem. I told them that this was unacceptable and I wanted a full refund. I was told I had to speak to the manager about this. I called 5 times over the course of several weeks to speak to the manager and every time I was told he was unavailable but would call me back. I never received a call from the Manager (Matthew apparently). After I could get no response by email or phone from the company I filed a complaint with my credit card company to have the funds returned (mid August). Today the credit card company called me and said that the company refused to return the funds to them but they were willing to return the watch to me.Desired Settlement: Full refund of the purchase price of the watch. Nothing less.

To whom it may concern:This watch was delivered on 5/**/15 to [redacted]. On July [redacted] (46 days after receiving the watch) [redacted] emailed us that his watch is gaining 5 -6 minutes every 24 hours, which is an indication of the customer having magnetized the movement but would need to be inspected by our technicians, which is covered under the Watchmaxx warranty regardless of fault. The customer then asked if this qualifies for a return / replacement. We explained that unfortunately since the watch was altered it was not. We then immediately sent him a RAN, Repair Authorization Number the same day July *. We received the watch from [redacted] on July ** and we emailed him on the [redacted] that we had indeed received his watch in and the general turnaround time for automatic watches is 4-8 weeks, but may take quicker or longer depending on the circumstances. After our inspection the it became clear to us that the movement was indeed magnetized and the process of demagnetized was done, the repair and testing was completed the week of August [redacted], that same week the customer called he does not want the watch back until he speaks to the manger. The Manager did indeed try calling [redacted] the week of the [redacted] with no answer and we were told that he does not want the watch back period, and would only accept a brand new replacement, He then opened a chargeback with the credit card company and they ultimately ruled in favor of us being that the watch was altered and we had it repaired and was in perfect working order.Proposed resolution we will extend the warranty by a full year at FREE of charge.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]The business conveniently misrepresents the facts of the case. The only reason that it took 46 days to return the watch is that they failed to send a RAU within the allotted return date (30 days) in spite of calling them several times to have one issued. When they informed me that it would take up to 3 months to trouble shoot the watch I responded that this was completely unacceptable and did ask to speak to a manager. I called no less than 5 times and each and every time I was not put through to a manager nor did I ever receive a call back from him/her. During one call the receptionist ([redacted]) said that she had my watch on her desk and it "appeared to be just fine" ... as though a receptionist could tell whether or not a time piece is keeping accurate tine by looking at it for a few seconds. At that point I did have the charges reversed on my credit card. The credit card company did not rule in favor of the company (as they have falsely stated) - the credit card company said that they were powerless to refund the $ as the vendor refused the chargeback. So here I am 5 1/2 months after spending $2350 on a watch that didn't keep time and I have nothing to show for it. The only resolve that will be deemed acceptable is for the business to refund the entire amount of the purchase.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Response:

please see response I provided in response to the proposed resolution from WatchMaxx on Nov [redacted]. Additionally, they are now saying the watch was "magnetized" and that was why it failed to keep time. Interesting because they contended all along that it was fine ... even after they said it would take up to 3 months to even trouble shoot the problem. They have had the watch now for over 4 months with no communication whatsoever, and all of sudden when the Revdex.com gets involved they mis-represent the truth and say that the watch has been fixed. The only acceptable resolve to this is that they refund my purchase price in full.

Business

Response:

These watches have a 99.9% perfect record time keeping record unless they are either mishandled or abused. The only delay that we had in shipping the watch back was being that the customer opened a dispute with the credit card company and they recommended that we not ship it back until the dispute was settled. Unfortunately refunding the entire amount is not an option, given the fact that the watch was altered and used. This watch has been repaired at no charge under the warranty and is in 100% perfect working order, we always strive to make sure our customers are ecstatic with our service, we regret this unfortunate incident and therefore would like to give [redacted] a $100 credit on his credit card as well as an extra 1 Year warranty. As per [redacted] instructions we shipped it back to the address he provided and its in transit.

Review: Two days ago I bought a watch, and online display spot, but when I pay them tell me they did not need to watch the wait, I cheated. And when I tried to cancel the order, when they did not put the money back to me. And every time I use email to ask them things about watches, they are always very slow response.Desired Settlement: I hope they will soon send me to watch or cancel orders quickly put the money back to me. I have never seen such a bad store in US!

Response:

Two days ago when I paid their money to watch me and shown online in stock, they told me that they do not watch now, the need to wait two weeks, this is a thoroughly deceive! And I very get it, I hope you can help them early delivery

Business

Response:

The day the order was placed we contacted the buyer that the item is not in stock and will take a few days to fill, we did not charge the card as we automatically get a authorization when the order is placed. As a company policy we only charge a card once we ship the order. The customer notified us that he cant wait and we voided the authorization as well.

What can I say - everything was superb, in respect of both service, delivery and product. My main point of contact, Dave, was friendly and professional over the 'phone (we are talking Sydney Australia - Brooklyn New York here!) and his email correspondence was timely and covered everything I needed to know. I should point out one very important thing as regards International customers (not resident in America). You need have absolute confidence when buying from WatchMaxx, even though you will not have actually handled the product prior to receipt AND are involving yourself with sending by telegraphic transfer a not inconsiderable amount of money overseas. This firm is honest to a fault and most important.......delivers on-time for the customer. Whilst I am a highly experienced eBayer participant, I have never bought an expensive watch 'long distance' (as here) ever before. WatchMaxx (courtesy in particular of Dave) has really and truly exceeded all my expectations. If I ever need a high quality watch ever again, I would highly recommend that anyone reading this review, checked the Watchmaxx price first!!.

Review: I recently purchased a watch from this company that was supposed to be brand new. Upon receiving this watch it seemed as though it had been previously worn and had scuff marks between the links that indicated it had been worn before. In addition to this the box it came in was damaged and the information booklet had obviously been read through before. For two weeks myself and my boyfriend tried to contact them via the telephone, leaving messages repeatedly and no one ever called back. Finally I was able to get a hold of them via email and when I asked for a return label I was asked to send pictures of the damage. Although I sent them the pictures they stated the the scuff marks were from storage and not being worn before. On their website it states that they take returns anyway so I replied saying I was just not satisfied with the watch and wanted to return it and now they have stopped responding again.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded the cost of the watch and return it.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

This company claims to stand by products but does not. I purchased a $280 Movado watch for my son. The plastic cracked from normal wear and tear after less than 2 months. Watchmaxx won't take it back and blames my son for "misusing" it. I clearly have a lemon watch that can't withstand typical wear of a 14 year old boy. Watchmaxx can't help me contact Movado, can't do anything for me and won't replace or refund my money.

Review: I purchased a Tag Heuer watch from Watchmaxx in November 2013. The watch's warranty card was not included with the watch upon receipt. Subsequent to same, I have been requesting the card. Watchmaxx claims they sent the card in Feb 2014, though it was never received and they cannot provide a tracking number. The watched stopped functioning in April, just a few months after I had purchased it. Tag Heuer is unable to fix it because I don't have a warranty card. **Furthermore, Tag Heuer has no record of the watch's serial number.**Desired Settlement: I either want a new watch and warranty card immediately; or I want to return the watch and receive a refund.

Response:

I’m writing regarding the above id#

As stated clearly on our website all watches get a

WatchMaxx.com warranty, the customer is demanding for an international warranty

which something we don’t offer. We made an exception and covered his repair

with Tag Heuer. Attached find the paperwork. Please email me with any other

questions.

Regards,

I purchased a $6,700 Panerai from Watchmaxx.com and I must say that I have never had such a great experience with an online retailer as I had with them.

From the first phone call to check if the watch was in stock until the watch was delivered to my home they answered every question with patience and professionalism.

I would highly recommend anyone that is in the market for a high-end timepiece to go directly to Watchmaxx and not even bother with any other websites.

Thank you Watchmaxx for your help and great customer service!

This seller doesnt stand to his word and the way the comunicate is like they dont even want your business I purchased a hamilton watch and they had a low advertised price and days after they never contact me to say opps we made a mistake or something and then I called and they say they dont have the watch then they say they cant sell me the watch at that price because they reserve the right to cancel orders at anytime,

never a honest apology or a way to say ok we will find the watch for you the trucost is so much would you pay for the difference??

I sell cars for a living and I have made mistake on prices but I had always honored the price I give to my clients making long story short do not buy from this people because they are not honest.

Terrible customer service

This website is not truthful in their website. They advertised a watch at a price with a "1-2 week" estimated delivery. That time came and went with no communication. They did not timely respond to email inquiries. They represented that the was going to be an extended time frame, I followed-up a over 6 weeks later and was told my order was canceled because they can not get the watch. I believe there is false advertising and certainly HORRIBLE customer service.

BUYERS BEWARE of dealing with people like these. Not trustworthy!!!!!!!!!!!!
