Water Wizards Pool Company Reviews (2)

Review: I paid Water Wizard to replace a liner in my in-ground pool. Deadlines were not met, however, I just wanted job to be completed satisfactorily. Once liner was installed, I determined a few things that were not done to satisfaction. The main item was the pool light. This light was left hanging with the existing screw missing; no attempt to re-install and no phone call to us indicating this aspect of the job was not completed. After several phone calls which were not returned, visits to the store to find the person in charge "had just stepped out", I eventually made contact with Water Wizard. I was told they would have to special order a screw for the light. Unusual why a pool servicing company would not have these screws readily available in stock, but as they had misplaced the existing screw, I had no other recourse but to wait. Approximately 10 days later, the light was reinstalled. About 3 weeks after it was reinstalled, the light came out and was floating in the pool. This "special order" screw was clearly not the correct screw to keep the light securely in place for any length of time. I went directly to Water Wizard. I insisted that someone come out to my home that evening, with the proper screw, and fix the light. Of course, no one came. I phoned later that evening and left a message reiterating my dissatisfaction and requested a call back the next morning. Again, no phone call. My experience thus far with Water Wizard has been beyond frustrating. I had actually gotten a better quote with a better timeline from an out of town vendor, but really wanted to give the job to a local merchant. I am sorry that I chose that route. I find it hard to fathom that any company in a service industry would operate in this manner. I paid this bill in full. Clearly, I not only need to locate the proper screw, but will need to repair this light myself. I will not only never use Water Wizard in the future, but will be certain share my negative experienceDesired Settlement: It would be appropriate for Water Wizard to return phone calls. It would be appropriate for them to not only finish the job, but to finish it correctly. As confidence is low that any of this will take place, I really just want this documented. I believe Water Wizard is underestimating the effect this negative feedback will have on their business.

Review: I hired Water Wizards to repair water damages to my pool caused partly by drainage issues with my coping stones. They were to re-plaster side walls, replace all decorative tile, and replace all coping stones. They told me once the work was done, it would resolve all drainage/water collection issues. The work was done to my pool in and there are still several areas where the water is not draining correctly (water is collecting and sitting on top of the coping stones, which will eventually lead to the same water damage issues I had before). Cost of work was $13,000 plus dollars.

I approached them with my concerns. It took about three weeks, several emails, phone calls and threatening legal action to get them to call me back and visit my pool. First they told me the water collection was due to the style coping stone I chose. After visiting my pool, they then recanted that statement and said it looks like the coping stones were installed in correctly. They (supposedly) brought the mason they used for this project out to my property to survey (I can't confirm as I wasn't present for this visit). They now claim and I quote: "I was at your home yesterday in conjunction with the construction manager from my masonry company. After an extensive review of the project, he imparted some pertinent information as to why the coping was installed the way it was. As I am sure you are aware, there are certain parts of your concrete decking that have settled or lifted…..as such the coping needed to be “compensated” in certain areas to alleviate significant trip hazards."

This is yet another excuse and is not valid. There is no reason they couldn't have installed the coping stones properly. It was faulty/poor work. I have photos to prove same. I didn't hire them to worry about trip hazards (there was plenty of space to avoid trip hazards)...I hired them to resolve the water damage/collection issues. They have refused to respond to my plea/email or correct the issues.Desired Settlement: I would like them to repair the issues with the coping stones at no charge to me.
