I have been going to this dentist for over twenty years. I recently had to have a crown put on and was quoted a price while sitting in the chair and told I had to come up with half of the cost that my insurance company would not cover. I could not so put down one quarter. I was told that when I came back for the crown I would need to pay the rest. I was also told that often they have discounts to apply and the cost could be even less. I went to get the crown on and was escorted to the billing person (please note they have started to do this you always have to settle up after). I was told by their billing person I did not owe anything and I could leave. So I did thinking that a discount was applied or insurance paid more. I started to get bills for 178 dollars. I sent them a notice that they needed to check on this as I was told by their staff I did not own anything. I was contacted by them by a very rude person who basically told me I was not told that and that the next day this would go to collections. I will be taking this to the next level.

Very poor customer service by some reception staff; high rate of turnover of dentists; asked to change a hygine appt time and, when I could not do so, I had to reschedule. The Receptionist then said I would need to call back another time and hung up. Not advised by dentist of a fractured tooth which hygenist then chipped during cleaning; was offered barely minimum assistance with the subsequent tooth extraction referral; no paperwork stating policy of charging $22 for dental records transfer.

The dentist told me that I had two small cavities. Then the dental team put together a plan for me which included four fillings and would cost around $900. I got a second opinion from another dentist that said I had NO CAVITIES, but needed ONE filling replaced and it cost me less than $300. Getting a second opinion saved me $600. Another time, years earlier, they pulled one of my teeth before the novocaine kicked in. They've had two chances. I will never go back.

I had my first visit with Wauwatosa Dental Group in August. I took my daughter to her first checkup. Everything went well until I got the bill. I called my insurance and the dental office to find out why I was receiving a bill. [redacted] was short and rude with me on the phone and left me on hold until the office closed. I contacted my insurance company and they told me the office used different film for x-rays than are usually covered. I asked well how I was suppose to know that. They responded that I need to ask the dental office. I contacted the dental office to pay the bill and I asked [redacted] if they could let us know if they use a different film again in the future, so we are prepared for a bill and she was rude again. She told me that they don't need to disclose the type of film they use. I asked if they could tell us before they take the xrays and she said no because if they don't take the xrays they need they would be considered negligible. She was really rude and short. It's too bad they have this woman working out their office because she is going to lose them allot of business. The dentists were very nice at the office. I paid the bill and I we will not be using Wauwatosa Dental Group in the future.
