Wayne's Western Refrigeration & A/C

A few years ago, my A/C went out during the summer, and I couldn't get a hold of anybody who had any good references, so I went with a reputable-looking company from the yellow pages. Needless to say, it wasn't a very good experience (rushed job, likely overcharged, advised to replace more parts than I probably needed in a 10-year-old house, etc.). So, after that, I checked with some people and got a reference -- Wayne's Western -- for future use.

Since then (about six years now), I've had Wayne out a few times, and I've always been very happy with his service. He takes time to explain things when I ask (like what was wrong, and what I can do to prevent problems from recurring), which is useful, since this is my first house.

More importantly, he knows a lot about how the systems work, and actually tries to identify the specific problem and fix what's actually not working. In contrast, the company with which I had a bad experience sent out people that (in retrospect) seemed more like salesmen and installers rather than repair men -- they were more interested in just selling me a whole new unit than troubleshooting what I had.

Wayne was out to my house within the quoted time-frame to service my AC unit. He was very pleasant and professional. He was able to identify the issue with my unit and repair it. We are sitting cool at home now! I was very pleased with his service, he took the time to explain and show me what was wrong. He also provided some helpful tips to keep my AC working well in the future. I would highly recommend him to friends and family.

Wayne was called to inspect a fridge and he responded himself as he is a sole proprietor with many years experience. He likes to chat and educate you about the problem but works while he does this. He put my mind at ease about a suspected problem. He does not take credit cards but warns you of this prior to arrival. I was in a rush to leave the country and he juggled appointments to fit me in.

wayne's western has been my heating and a/c service for over 10years. they have always been reliable, and efficient. they come right out when I need them, and they never try to take advantage of me. They do a great repair at a very reasonable fee. my a/c unit is over 30 years old. and they keep it running like a top.

We had Wayne out to check system in an old A/C home unit and found that it would be better to replace the unit. Wayne explained the problems and how a new unit would be the best way to go based on my mother-in-laws A/C problems. Wayne gave us a price for the complete job and was prompt in his work and my mother-in-law was only done a few hours, which we expected. She now has a new unit that is working very good. Wayne kept us informed all the time and did what he said he was going to do. Very good Company and Wayne was very knowledgeable on all aspects of his job We are all Happy and COOL again. My mother-in-law is 93 and Wayne was very understanding with her so she would understand what was going on. Wayne's refrigeration is A-1 on our list! Good Job Wayne!

[redacted] came checked out the job we wanted done gave us an estimate didn't think I was going to be able to get my cooler in in time to use it before monsoon set it. But he made it work showed up stayed all day and got it done. The job was professional and he has checked back to make sure everything was what we expected

When you call Wayne's, you speak to[redacted], an extremely helpful man. My refrigerator did not have electricity one morning and after checking the breaker, I panicked and called Wayne. He was able to schedule me immediately. As we were talking it through, Wayne asked me to check the GCFI outlet in my kitchen and sure enough, it had been tripped. It saved me a service call and [redacted] was happy to help me. He even called me the next morning as a courtesy which I was glad since the refrigerator was continuing to trip the breaker and I had more questions. He helped me talk through all of the options if it continues. I now have a trustworthy company and friend to rely on in case I ever need.

We recently moved into our house and hired Wayne's Western to clean our a/c coils and re-do the subpar ducting done by the previous owners. On his initial visit to inspect and clean our coils, [redacted] explained it would not be worth it to do the coils until we had our underground return air cleaned. I appreciated his honesty and how thoroughly he explained everything. Once we had another company out to clean our underground return air, [redacted] came back to start on the ducting. To say it was a difficult job would be an understatement as there were many unforeseen obstacles, but [redacted] did an awesome job. He takes pride in his work and it definitely shows. He helped to equalize the airflow and temperature in our house by adding a second supply junction box, insulating our existing one, running all new ducting, adding additional ceiling registers, replacing all the grills and cleaning our coils (just to name a few). My husband and I were extremely pleased with the work he did. He was prompt, courteous and fair with his pricing. We would recommend him to anyone who needs a/c repair or service.

I am the original owner of a house which was built in 1993. So, both my A/C units are over 2 decades old. Over those years, Wayne has promptly responded to service calls three times. One case was on a Saturday so he asked if I wanted immediate response (explaining that there is a slight additional charge for a weekend response). Since one of my A/C units was working perfectly and we have several fans which can distribute cooled air between upstairs and downstairs, we made arrangements for him to arrive on Monday. Within a short time of his arrival, we had two working A/C units. One thing that I have learned with Wayne is that he is happy to explain exactly what service was needed. At that time, I had a defective "King" valve. He showed me the defective King valve he had removed and pointed to the shiny new King valve he had just installed. Both A/C units were then working at peak efficiency. His willingness to explain what was needed for all three service calls makes me very satisfied that he has excellent knowledge and can rapidly troubleshoot any problems he must resolve. He has also showed me how to clean the outside coils each spring, improving the life expectancy of my A/C units and, more importantly, saving me money on my electric bills. During some calls to him, he has explained what I needed to do, eliminating the need for him coming to my house. In most cases, it merely involved regular filter maintenance, one thing I all to frequently neglect.

I recently (4/25/2014) had [redacted] come out to inspect our A/C, in preparation for the summer heat. He gave it a thorough inspection and found nothing wrong - which indicates he didn't "invent" a problem, trying to fix something that didn't need to be fixed! He patiently answers any questions I have, being very helpful. [redacted] can get a little talkative at times, but he is a good person, who does an excellent job. This is the 2nd year that I have had him out to inspect our A/C. I like his work. I will call [redacted] whenever we have any A/C issues.
