Workmanship excellent. However some technicians tend to inflate time spent on premises.
One particular back office personnel, who works in their accounting office, lacks customer service skills which makes it difficult to discuss issues related to overcharges and accounting issues. The service manager, very pro customer and problem solving oriented.
overall, this company has a 2.5 rating.

Complaint Detail

I called to report the furnace smelled when I turned it on & thought it probably needed cleaned. They sent a technician who wrote and I quote:"01/18/2013 - Tachnician: [redacted]r - Work Performed: Clean & Service Furnace - Cleaned the furnace, replaced the air filter, oil filter and nozzle. Cleaned the burner and found that the heat exchanger is cracked, red tagged the furnace. Thank you for your business!" and handed me a bill for $197.00 which they will only forgive if I buy a new furnaace from them & their estimate was much higher. I called and talked to someone right away as to why would they not check functionality before replacing parts. They said they did what I asked (cleaned) even though I said it smelled I have cancer and I have been breathing this let alone a fire hazard. Attitute was basically too bad we did what you asked. Then I called back asked for owner was referred to voicemail and immediately received another bill in the mail. Then a [redacted] called I asked why would they bill me for parts put onto a dead furnace. His answer was he has to pay his men and the only he would write this off is if I buy from them which I will not spend more to save a little -again there estimate was higher.

I am rejecting this response because:

I reported initially that there was a smell when I turned on the heat. A strong smell of fuel. Apparantly Technician was never advised of this until I asked him. Then his response was "I'm glad you said something because now I will check things I would not normally have checked." (This was after he cleaned and put new parts on it) Within minutes he stated I needed another heat source - that the furnace was unoperable. H could have checked that first and never but any new parts on it. In other words he was going to leave after cleaning and putting new parts on a dead furnace.
