Everyday all day I get alerts for New Orleans. I live in NC. How does this get fixed? I suspect you want the Country to get alerts on many areas not near them so you can build on the lefts assertion of Global Warming.
How do I get rid of New Orleans which is nowhere near me?

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. The Weatherbug representative was very helpful in trying hard to help with the issue.

I live in the New Orleans Area at 70062 and the Radar has been off in our area for 12 Days.
I've tried to contact WeatherBug Customer Service but to no avail. Please advise me if the Radar Service is being discontinued or is it just down for technical reasons. So far no one has been able to answer that question. They just transfer me to another Office. I've been a WeatherBug user since 2002, and have Never had a problem like this. Before retiring I used WeatherBug exclusively for our Weather Advisories, Alerts, Warnings and Hurricanes.

Perhaps you could contact Mr. Joe Murgo AMS CERTIFIED METEROLIGIST of accuweather and WTAJ-TV Altoona PA for a view of the VERY REAL problems with forecasting weather in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania. He seems to be the ONLY PERSON who seems to have a good handle on this demanding weather region. Can’t get any worse than the job that you are doing.

Why doesn't the Spark feature show on a map where the lightening is at and how close it is to me anymore?

Review: This company provides weather software for Cell Phones as well as computers. It promotes that it has the best weather software program available, however some of its WeatherBug sites have incomplete data, i.e. Wind Speed Data. Weather cannot be properly or accurately displayed or reported with one or more weather sensors inoperable. This company allows sites all across the United States to display data from sites that have incomplete data. One of their progra**, WeatherBug Elite, automatically selects a 'Default' weather location for the user. If that 'Default' location has missing sensors and thus missing weather data, the user is FORCED to use this site and cannot change it. Thus, this user is forced to accept incomplete/inaccurate weather information.I have informed the company of this issue for almost a year, but the company continues to allow defective sites on its network because it is a revenue stream for them. They could fix the problem easily, but refuse to because it would cost them income.Their WeatherBug App cannot tell the weather or conditions accurately with missing or incomplete data. As a result, this company is misleading and misrepresenting their product and cheating the public and should be held accountable.Desired Settlement: The company needs to fix the application so it tells all of the weather it says it does and not mislead and/or cheat the public.

Dear **. [redacted],

I received notice from the Revdex.com regarding your complaint about our WeatherBug Elite application, and the occasional incomplete data. I am sorry to hear that you have had a bad experience, and I want to address your complaint that users are forced to accept a weather station that is wholly or partially “inoperable”, as you put it.

As you may know, many of our weather stations are placed at schools around the country, and the basic maintenance of the station, and its connection to the Internet, is the responsibility of the school. We have techs and automated syste** that watch for “down” stations or stations reporting suspect data, flag them in our system and communicate with the schools to help remedy the problem, but, with thousands of stations operating, that system is not always immediate. If a station is pulled from the active base for missing suspect or incomplete data, the WeatherBug apps will automatically switch to the next closest station.

For your purposes, however, you are never “forced” to accept any station that the app defaults to. You can change weather stations at any time, by going to the location section of the app, clicking the box to the left, and then selecting the Edit button (it looks like a pen) from the top nav of the app. This will open a dialogue box that contains a drop down menu of all available weather stations surrounding your location.

I hope this addresses your concern. Please feel free to reach out to me directly, if you have any further questions. Thank you

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

The response is incorrect and does not address the true issues. This company allows sites on its network to function and exist with incomplete and/or incorrect weather data inputs. As a results, this company cannot claim it provides a proper Weather Application to its users.

In my case, the closest WeatherBug site is defective and I am forced to accept this defective site. Their program does not allow me to edit out this defective site. Allowing the user to edit out the defective site would be a simple solution, but the company refuses to allow this capability. Instead, they recommend band aids and workarounds that defeat the purpose of the program. Their refusal to fix or address these issues bear directly on public safety.

The application they provide, WeatherBug, cannot be a proper 100% functioning program with missing weather data inputs. They are misleading and cheating users by virtue of allowing incomplete and inaccurate information in their program. The company has the ability to fix the issues, but refuse because if they take a weather site offline, it costs them revenue from those sites, so they leave incomplete sites active while possibly putting public safety at risk from incomplete weather data during severe stor** or weather conditions.

Dear **. [redacted]:

I received your letter dated December 11, 2013 regarding the above complaint. Contrary to your statement that we did not respond, I faxed you our response to **. [redacted] on December 11, 2013, at 4:58 PM.

Moreover, I feel that it is incumbent to address **. [redacted] and his complaint with some I specificity. **. [redacted] is known to this organization, having been a frequent caller and e-mailer regarding what he perceives to be a problem with the operation of our Android smartphone app -WeatherBug. This has been going on for over a year. Several people within the organization have spoken to **. [redacted] on the phone, and have corresponded with him over email, including myself. I have attached my latest string of emails as an example.

His “issue” is not a product defect or bug or problem in the objective sense, but rather a complaint that he doesn’t like the way the app Operates for him. We have offered him refunds, work-arounds, explanations, and have done eveiything we can think of to settle his issue, put we have obviously been unsuccessful.

I would respectfully suggest that this exchange with **. [redacted] does not warrant an adverse report from the Revdex.com. I don't know how much more we can do with **. [redacted] short of giving him the keys to the CEO’s office and let him try it himself.

Sincerely,

Consumer

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

In their own words in their latest letter, Earth Networks wants its users to accept incomplete weather data from their application, and to accept incomplete data as normal and proper and acceptable. Again in their own words, they offer band aids, workarounds and other fixes (that should not be required) rather than make sure their users get 100% weather data from their app. They could deliver 100% data to their users, but absolutely refuse to offer those options, make the necessary changes to their program or procedures and policies or listen to their users feedback. If the user does not accept their way (incomplete weather data), then they make the user out to be the bad person or troublemaker as evidenced in their latest correspondence.

Further, they do the public a major disservice. If in a storm or severe weather situation or event, Wind Speed data is critical. Wind Speed is also critical to understanding the potentials of Wind Chill factors in the wintertime. According to Earth Networks, it is ok and acceptable to not display Wind Speed Data in any situation and that its users should be happy and accept no Wind Speed information as acceptable with no real regard for public safety.

The WeatherBug Weather Application they put out is advertised/presented to the user public as able to show the current weather conditions, and that their app is the best available. No weather application, including their weather app, can properly provide accurate weather information with missing weather data. Until they provide 100% weather data to its customers, they are misleading the public and not providing the service or safety they advertise, and should have this entire situation on record at the Revdex.com for the public to see.
