Weaver Gas Reviews (16)

The refund was processed and mailed on Friday, 1/**/

Review: I cancelled my contract with Weaver gas for propane services the last week in August. They are supposed to pick up the propane tanks from the property and then refund for the propane in the tanks, which were both full when I cancelled there services. They state that do the incline the tanks are on they did not pick them up on 9/** when they visited the site. They state they need a crane to do so. Its roughly 8 weeks later and they state they are busy taking care of service calls, deliveries and maintenance at the moment. When asked about when, they state they have no plan in place and it could be after the Winter when they will look to retrieve the tanks. This is contrary to our conversations three months ago. This is not reasonable. I have relinquished their tanks back to them and the gas inside it is in their possession. Whether they make plans to retrieve them should not matter at this point: They have full tanks worth somewhere around $1400-1800 that I am due to be reimbursed. I should not be penalized or prevented from having use of these monies. They installed the tanks where they are; one of the tanks just 2 years ago. There was little delay in delivering and installing the second tank. There attitude is crass and they basically have a “It is what it is” response, Further, they keep billing me for monthly rental fees via email.Desired Settlement: I want immediate repayment of monies due me, whether they remove the tanks or not. I am concerned at this point that they will will not be forthright in the amount of fuel left in the tanks and will likely look to reimburse me for less.

Review: They refused to come to my house when I suspected a gas leak unless I agreed up front to pay $150 to dispatch their truck, minimum of 15 minutes stay and any and all parts if needed. I found this ridiculous and did not agree. Because of this, I switched companies on Sept. 4th and had the new tanks installed on the **th. I e-mailed my notice to Weaver to remove their tanks and to give me a full refund of the $1,401.52 I had paid up front for 500 gallons of propane in July for the coming winter. On Sept. **, I stopped by their office to see why nothing had been done and was told that they missed the scheduled date of the 16th to pick up the tanks and it would happen on the next date. I was not told when that would be. I asked about my refund and was told it would take 6 to 8 weeks to process and would be charged a 15% fee. According to their bills, I still have a balance of 39.0 gallons from what I purchased last year and have not yet used. Also there is a balance still in the tanks they have to pick up. Why am I being charged a percentage and have to wait so long for my money???Desired Settlement: I want my $1,401.52 refunded to me in full without any discounts. They still have propane left on my paid in full account from last year and a balance still in the tanks they have to pick up AND they have had my money since the end of July!

The tank was removed from the consumer's property on September [redacted], 2013.

Regarding refund policy, the remaining propane in the tank is reimbursed at the most recent purchase price(s) for the quantity

the customer has remaining in the tank . A 15% handling fee is applied to the account for removing

the propane from the tank and restocking. The total refund will include the credit balance that exists on the account.

The refund will be mailed to the consumer within six to eight weeks from the date the tank was removed from the property.

I have attached a transaction list showing the consumer the total refund amount.

The provided document nation supports all actions taken by Weaver Gas and hopefully will provide a better clarification for the customer

Review: I contacted this company on March **, 2014 to advise I was selling my house on March ** and I needed them to read the meter. I was told the meter would be read on the day of closing. I followed up on March ** and they said they meter had not been read on the the [redacted] as promised and they had no idea when they would read the meter. I was told very rudely that there was no [redacted] and no one who could assist me or who I could speak with regarding this and I would have to just wait till they sent someone out there. Mind you this is in the middle of this horrible winter and now the new [redacted] were using the propane I paid for to heat their house. Weaver did in fact get the meter read on March ** although no one in the office was aware of this. They had advised me it would be 6 - 8 weeks for my refund to be mailed. Over two months later (June *) I followed up on my refund check and spoke with a woman by the name of [redacted]. She said she saw I was due a refund of $388.74 but had no idea when it would be sent out. She advised there was no one else who knew and that there was no owner or [redacted] she could transfer me to. She even laughed at my suggestion of being transferred. Her only response was I could "go on line" To do what I am not sure because it has all the same contact information so my email would apparently be going to the same people who keep telling me there is no one to help me.Desired Settlement: I would just like to receive my refund check. They would not deem it acceptable for me to take over 2 months to pay them. And they have never had to wait for their money from me.

Response:

The end of service was completed on March **, 2014. Standard processing time for refunds is 8 to 10 weeks. A refund check was mailed to the customer on June [redacted], 2014.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

However I would like to comment that they advised me they had no idea when the check would be mailed and there was no one I could speak with regarding it. It appears that once my complaint

was register, then my paperwork was processed. I did receive the check in the mail today.

Sincerely,

Review: I cancelled service with Weaver Gas on March **, 2014. I was told I would receive a refund of almost $600 for the remaining propane left in my tanks. To this day, June **, 2014, I have not received that check. Repeated calls to the company go ignored. When I ask to speak with a manager or owner, they tell me "there is no one to speak with", and they refuse to give me the owner's name. Just spoke with a "[redacted]" today who was rude and unprofessional. She told me no one would call me back and there was no one there to speak with, nor would there ever be. This company is highly unethical and shoddy and I would like a resolution and payment ASAP for what is rightfully due me.Desired Settlement: I would like my refund check sent overnight to me, as this is almost 4 months later and I get NO RESPONSE after repeated attempts and phone calls to their company.

The tank was picked up on April [redacted] 2014. A refund check was mailed on June [redacted], 2014 in the amount of $558.15.

Review: RESUBMITTING ORIGINAL HAD INCORRECT NEW ADDRESS:

I moved from [redacted] on April *, 2014, two Propane tanks were removed on April *, 2014. In called about 2 weeks later and was told I would receive the check in the mail within 6 to 8 weeks, for the two full Propane tanks

that were used for a self starting generator. On June **,2014 I called and was told they were still processing the check, when I did not receive check as of today I called June **, 2014. A lady named [redacted] answered I only gave her my name and she immediately said

the Check was not cut yet. Did not ask for any account info, also said did not know when I would get it, I asked to speak to someone in charge she said there was no one else to speak to.Desired Settlement: I want the [redacted] to call me as to when I will receive my check, and why I could not speak to anyone one in charge to resolve this issue.

Please ensure that the check is Mailed to my Maine Address [redacted] Thank You

Review: Weaver Gas, at our request, picked up a full tank of propane from our house on 9/**/2013. We had changed to a new propane provider ([redacted]) because of terrible service from Weaver Gas. Weaver Gas agrees that they owe us $350 for the gas and tank that they picked up. But we have not received this money. Each time we call, they say the refund is "in process" but refuse to give us the money or even a date when we can receive our money. It is now 9 weeks.Desired Settlement: We want our money immediately and not to have to call Weaver Gas anymore. They are rude and unpleasant and inefficient, which is why we selected a different propane provider.

Business

Response:

The refund was processed and mailed to the customer on November **, 2013.

Review: We closed our account on 11/**/14 because we moved from our rental at [redacted]. Weaver stated it would take 6-8 weeks to receive the refund owed to us. Originally I was told the amount was $924; most recently I was informed the amount is $504.52. It has been nearly TEN weeks and I still have not received my refund. When I asked customer service to connect me to an owner or supervisor they refused.Desired Settlement: Overnight express my refund to my new address today! [redacted]

Business

Response:

The refund was processed and mailed on Friday, 1/**/15.

Review: requested removal of propane tank from property; 2 phone requests made the first was over a month ago was told there is no scheduling for removal and a note is entered (request) to the dept. responsible as of present no pick up has occured also was told of refund for gas currently in tank and reading the previous complaints that is not coming ant time soon eitherDesired Settlement: need the tank removed asap as we have hired contractors to start work in the area where the tank is. also would like to see any refunds owed to me processed in a timely manner

Business

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: About 2 months ago on about July **th, after already being threatened by weaver that they will terminate our service and collect their tanks within 10 days, we switched over to another company and requested Weaver to come and collect their tanks. We were supposed to get a credit for the remaining fuel. We waited for a couple of weeks for Weaver to pick them up, but they never did. Despite several phone calls and emails to collect their tanks, they remain on my property untouched after two months, both full of propane gas. The only answer I ever get from Weaver is "I don't know, they'll get there when they get there." I've already warned them I would contact the Revdex.com, but still they never come.Desired Settlement: I only want Weaver to collect their tanks and reimburse us for the remaining fuel. This is a possible health issue as they are 3 ft. from our house and liable to leak or worse.

Business

Response:

The equipment was removed from the property on September **th, 2013. The refund will be mailed to the account holder within six to eight weeks from the date the tank was removed from the property.

The provided documentation supports all actions taken by Weaver Gas and hopefully will provide a better clarification for the customer.

Review: I called Weaver Gas on 12/*/14 and left a message that I needed a Propane delivery. I had smelled gas in the house and went outside to check the gauge which was at zero! My service is set up on automatic delivery and never had to call before to schedule a delivery. The last time the delivery truck came by it was before Halloween- about 6 weeks ago. The tanks are set in the back of the house and the delivery man and I had checked the gauge to see how much gas was left in the tank. There was over 60% registered on the gauge. The delivery man said -Quote- "you'll be fine until the next delivery". I was on the way out of the house and we parted ways on the assurance that he would be back before I ran out of gas.

An incredibly rude woman from "[redacted]" named [redacted] called me this morning 12/*/14 and told me that since I now needed an Emergency Delivery and the charge would be $95.00 to get the fuel I need to HEAT my house. I asked her how it was possible that no homes that they deliver to where I live had delivery during the last 6 weeks. And told her that my next door neighbor in fact is a customer of Weaver Gas as well. [redacted] was the most impolite person I have ever has the displeasure of dealing with. I asked to speak to her [redacted] and she claimed to be the [redacted] there. I then asked to speak to the [redacted] and she told me that she is the [redacted] of [redacted]. I find it hard to believe that an [redacted] wouldn't know what the schedule is for deliveries. She claimed she that could not tell me the last time a truck had made deliveries in my area NOR could tell me the next time deliveries were to be made in the future here either. I never had to call to schedule a delivery with any propane company before and running out of gas to heat my home when it's 32 degrees outside is unacceptable.

[redacted] claimed that I had "refused a delivery" which I assured her I had not. I was told by the driver that I "would be fine" until the truck would be in my area again. I believe that they DELIBERATELY did not deliver fuel to my residence and planned on letting me run low enough so I would have no choice but to pay the exorbitant delivery fee. This has been a very cold winter so far and I believe she is lying when she said no trucks had been delivering fuel in my area (westchetser county) during the last 6 weeks.

When I [redacted] I found dozens of complaints on several websites about unfair business practices and many had mention of this [redacted] woman. When I switched to Weaver Gas I did my research and would never had signed up with them knowing that it was actually [redacted] that would be providing my fuel to heat my home.Desired Settlement: I would rather freeze to death than give this Company and [redacted] a single red cent after the way she tried to extort an extra $95. out of me.

I want everyone to know what that Weaver Gas is actually [redacted] and that they engage in unethical business practices.

They do not deliver gas to you in a timely manner and then want to charge you an outrageous delivery fee so you can have heat during the winter!

Review: I have been embattled with this untrustworthy, deceiving, deceptive, unruly, unfriendly, and crooked company for months. I had to get attorney general involved for any actions to happen to retrieve my stolen money from this crooked company. They simply had to retrieve their tanks from my sold house but their unfriendly and disgusting staff lead by their arrogant "office manager" Nicole played games with me for 6 months. I finally am receiving a refund but now they want to charge me an injustified 15% for services? They make up ruled as they go. It is not written anywhere for those services at the time of my purchase and demand my 15% back from them. Something needs to be done about this crooked company and horrible staff that works there. I am beyond disgusted with them to say the least.Desired Settlement: I want my 15% back

Business

Response:

A 15% handling fee is applied to the account for removing the propane from the tank and restocking. The notice for the 15% handling fee is posted in our office and it is also explained to the customer when a request is made to end service.

The provided documentation supports all actions taken by Weaver Gas and hopefully will provide a better clarification for the customer.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

I want proof with my signature that this was explained to me orally and in written. Having it posted in office makes absolutely no sense if I have never been to the office. I want a copy of this explained to me with my signature proving I was told of this ridiculous charge. Why wasn't I charged 15 percent for every propane fill up on top of their outlandish bill. 15 percent for them to get their own tanks is ridiculous. If the next person moves in there and chooses to use another company they will charge them 15 percent to remove their tanks. This company is crooked to say the least. Not only is their customer service disgusting but also their made up billing policies. Maybe one day they will learn to treat people with respect instead to stealing from them and the business might have a chance to be successful.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Review: I cancelled service with Weaver Propane of Newburgh NY due to poor customer interaction, refusal to flex on payment date, and wildly erratic prices, Cancelled in early December. A couple weeks later, they removed the tank, which contained a considerable amount of propane. When I called the next week, after I had been billed as "overdue" (!) to find out when I would be reimbursed for the gas in the tank, I was told that they owed me $133 and change, and that a check would take 6-8 weeks to be processed! When I expressed dismay, I was told by the [redacted] "[redacted]" that it was "company policy," and the [redacted] said no other employees were available to discuss it. I wrote my contact there, by email; got in touch with the utilities commission, the consumer affairs office and the Revdex.com; was told to contact the atty general... I have since heard that some former customers wait as long as 6 months for a check; waited a bit and today called - 3 months after tank removed - and "[redacted]" who answered the phone told me she had no idea when check would be done - all she knew was, when it was cut, she would mail it. When I protested and said that Weaver's reputation would get it into trouble, her response was "I won't be in trouble; I'm the daughter of the owner"! In response to my distress, she said "I know, I know, I've heard the same thing from a lot of people" So there's no way of pressing for my much -needed refund and there seems to be no interest on the part of the company to serve the public. Note that the only records offered are online: my bill there says they owe me $250, with no indication of the $133 I was quoted by their clerk. Whatever the amount, it's a shame! I've learned that Weaver, which I thought was local, is part of a much larger corporation DiSanto Propane, and I guess they make the rules. But those rules are harming me, badly. They well deserve the "F" from Revdex.com - and I am reporting all to the State Attorney General, since their shoddy practices offer little hope for resolution.Desired Settlement: Give me the money that Weaver Gas has owed me for 3 months They owe for the gas that was in the tank when they removed it in December.

Consumer

Response:

At this time, my complaint, ID [redacted]regarding Weaver Gas has been resolved.:I FINALLY RECEIVED A CHECK FROM THEM - BUT NOT UNTIL I HAD SENT THEM A COPY OF THE COMPLAINT I WAS POSTING, AND A NOTICE THAT I WAS ALSO FILING A COMPLAINT WITH THE NY ATTY GENERAL!!

(By clicking "OK", your complaint will be closed as Resolved.)

Sincerely,

Review: Weaver Gas sends dunning letters but doesn't send out bills. When we questioned why we should get a dunning letter when we had never received a bill, we were told, "We don't send out bills." Customers are expected to keep track of what they owe! Weaver Gas doesn't send out either paper or email bills, but they do send out dunning letters. Because Weaver Gas doesn't send out bills, customers have no way of knowing what their account number is. Weaver Gas office staff is rude and unhelpful when customers call about accounts. Office staff members say they are "too busy" to look up account numbers and that they will "get back to you." They never call back. The website is cheaply and badly designed and maintained so that customers can't take care of business by themselvesDesired Settlement: I'd like Weaver Gas to be aware of their legal responsibility to customers in New York State. I have switched to another company. Even though it will cost us money (15% of value of remaining gas) to have Weaver Gas come and pick up their tank and remaining gas, I am relieved to be free of that company.

Business

Response:

Weaver Gas prides itself on customer service and the ability for customers to maintain their account with Weaver Gas with our on-line account enrollment. Our website www.weavergas.com has been greatly appreciated by many of our customers and we apologize that the consumer had a bad experience.

Review: I the mid part of August I called to have my propane tank removed as I was seeking my house on [redacted]. I was told it would be done by that time. I followed up a few days prior and now the

Lady said she was not sure when they can do it. They have people on vacation please are away and they have a large commercial job and nobody else in the company can help me.

She outright refused to give me the corporate phone number which I found on my on . Called the corporate office they were nice but due a variety of things nio idea when they can pick up my tank and give me my refund of over 500.00

Is this how they keep their customers by not servicing a long time customer of over 10 years ? Is this how they built their business over the years with poor customer service with no resultes ?

They nave not been fair to me at all really poor service with no resolution to a simple problemDesired Settlement: Remove tank with 10 days

Review: Weaver supplied the propane and propane tanks for our generator at the Home we put up for sale. Once I found out that we had a buyer for our home, I contacted Weaver (approx. 2mos before the closing) to discuss how I would go about transferring the account to the new owners. Subsequently, Weaver was contacted by the real estate agent and the new owners, in turn the tanks were topped off and the new Home owners took possession of the tanks under an new account with Weaver. I then received an email from Weaver indicating a refund due me of $817.40 (invoice # [redacted] dated 09/**/2013)for the difference between topping off the fuel and what I had remaining in the tanks. After the closing I called Weaver; a representative of Weaver claimed that it would take up to six weeks- at this point we are well passed the six weeks. Subsequent contacts with Weaver at ###-###-#### have resulted in the following responses: the check is on someone's desk to be signed, that they are still processing it or the representative does not know when the check is going to be refunded. Upon my dismay, I requested to speak to a supervisor; I was then forwarded to a voicemail where I left a message with my contact info along with a request to speak to someone in reference to payment- no one returned my call. I contacted Weaver again today and was told there was no management or anyone to escalate my complaint to located in that office.Desired Settlement: That Weaver would act in an ethical manner and refund me funds that are owed me in the amount of $817.40 immediately.
