Review: As the owner of [redacted] I contacted Web Universal on Feb 27th, 2013 for problems with my business computer. They immediately charged me $149.99 for their services and said that I needed anti-virus for $70.00.They entered my computer through a site for such repair. My computer was down for 5 hours with them correcting the problem.I was never called as promised when repair was complete.Within 3 hrs I noticed the problem was not resolved.I subsequently lost online orders because of this.I called the next day and was told only that they did repair the problem. I asked for a supervisor and they said no supervisor was in.I called the next day and was finally able to speak with someone named [redacted] (not given last name when asked). Despite her negative attitude she asked for my account number so she could refund. I was not going to give her my number and reminded her if she charged the number she could refund the same. She advised there would be a 7-10 day waiting period. After 2 weeks, I saw nothing and so I called. She was rude and said that my bank was refusing the refund and that I should check with them. She is unwilling to send me a refund check. My bank has denied such accusation. I have called Web Universal at least a dozen times since then. I have been promised a return call at least twice and never received. They are rude and will not let me speak with accounting or [redacted] half the time. When I do, it is the same story, each time less and less customer service professionalism. I have been hung up on at least twice. I need not go on. They are still saying it is my bank's problem. It is my belief that they are not a reputable business, possibly with scamming techniques.Thank you.Desired Settlement: $149.99 for service to repair computer not provided$ 70.00 for software not needed (per [redacted] representative)I can supply proof of charge if needed.

Review: When our MSN service was about to expire, a phone number flashed on the screen of our computer telling us to call it to receive the service we needed. I called it and was told that in order to continue the service we had, we needed to purchase e-mail services and anti-hacking software. I gave the man that I talked to, [redacted], my MSN account access information and he claimed to be taking viruses, spyware, etc. off of our computer as he was accessing it remotely after gaining my information. He then told me his services would be billed to me for $299.99 for two years of service and that I needed to agree to them via e-mail. I do not remember writing an e-mail saying that I agreed to his services, but I did find one written via my e-mail account (probably by [redacted], after he accessed all of my account information after I gave it to him thinking he was a legitimate MSN representative). [redacted] also told me during our conversation that I could call him 24-7 and he would provide service and that he was located in [redacted].

My daughter came home this weekend and we explained to her what we were being billed for. She indicated MSN e-mail services they were receiving are actually free and that their computer already had spyware, virus, and hacking protection installed and actively running. Upon trying to call "[redacted]", the phone number that was given just rang repeatedly without being answered. Then approximately 15 minutes later, after calling the credit card company to dispute the charge, "[redacted]" called asking how he could be of service, probably after seeing our number on his caller ID. (Upon looking up his business on the Revdex.com website, we learned he actually appears to be located out of an apartment in Maryland.) "[redacted]" immediately offered to refund $200 of the $299.99, but it does not make sense why we would still pay $99.99 for a service we have not received and one that we have no need to pay for. He stated he would talk to his "business manager" and call back tomorrow morning around 9 or 10 AM.

We feel like "[redacted]" is potentially scamming other unknowing senior citizens and non-technologically educated individuals out of money for services they don't need and do not exist.Desired Settlement: We seek a full refund of the $299.99 charged to us. We would also like to suggest that an investigation be performed on "[redacted]" and his business in its entirety.
