I executed a service contract with Weedman in and opted not to renew it for However, they serviced and billed me for services not asked forI called to inform them of the error and thought that the problem was resolvedDespite informing them of the error, I continued to receive overdue statementsTheir *** charge for services not requested is on my credit report under Collections and I would like it removed immediately

I Paid for the aeration and over seeding of my lawnI paid *** for this service
What I got was a brick walk that ended up in the spring looking like an overgrown thick green shag rug ( no exaggeration)In addition all bordering gardens were thick with grassThey used a seed broadcaster with NO edge guard to prevent this happeningMy only alternative was to have the brick pulled, cleaned, barrier cloth and sand installed and bricks replacedA costly process due to the lack of attention on their part
Most irritating was the level of belligerence I received upon calling their representativeHe stated that there wasn't any way he could have foreseen this problemHe stated that their seeding devices DO NOT have an edge guard to prevent this (my *** does)He admitted that this has happened in the past on a few occasionsHe went further to say "anyway - who has brick walks today"He was not interested in any pictures I could provideI have lived here years and thru m

I have been trying to resolve this issue directly with Weed Man since last fallWe ordered two separate services from themOne service was for Weeds Second service was for fall aeration with seed
The first servicethe weed service was paid in advanceit took them several weeks to perform servicesand we still had weedsI asked them to come back to take care of it and they never didI was assured by the office which they saidthey would take care of the weed problemI received calls-but action was ever taken
Second, we ordered aeration and seed last fallThe lawn has never filled inthere are still bare spots and I questioned them if seed was doneI was told by *** who represents Weed Man that the seed was never done and it costs extraI have a copy of the original receipt given to me on *** with a statement from Weed Man that indicates watering and mowing instructions"Your lawn was just seeded...and here are your instru

Over 5 years ago called to cancel lawn service. They billed me. I called again. They turned it over coll. agency and have put it on my credit report. The original notice and actions go back several years. I contracted with Weed Man to do lawn service for one year. Their contract apparently has on it that you must inform them in writing if you choose to discontinue service or they have the right to continue service and bill you. I did not realize that; simply did not see that when I signed it and it was not pointed out to me. In my opinion this is a practice that was designed to bilk people out of money for service they no longer desire. So at the end of that fall I called to cancel because I planned on selling my house the following spring. (Don't even remember when now - I think 2010.) If my memory serves me correctly I spoke with one of the two owners, I think his name was [redacted], (but it's been awhile and I've moved several times since then). He took the information and acted like that was all that was needed. The following spring I received a bill for service. I called and said that I had called the previous fall to cancel, and spoken with one of the owners. There seemed to be no further issue.Since then I have intermittently received debt notices and have been told that Weed Man recently posted a negative comment that has affected my credit report - for [redacted] five or more years ago, for service I called to cancel! I believe that I performed due diligence in contacting the company to terminate service, and to follow up when I received a bill.Desired SettlementRemove negative comment from credit report and ask [redacted] (the collection agency they use which continues to harass me for service I attempted to cancel over five years ago) to cease and desist. I believe that the way Weed Man conducts business and the contract that customers are required to sign is meant to bilk customers into service they no longer want, think they have cancelled, and then are asked to pay for. It is a poor business practice. I hope they receive a negative comment in the Revdex.com's listing for western [redacted]Business Response Account was initiated via a call to our office on [redacted] for Weed Man service.Weed Man delivered 6 service visits in 2011. Program auto-renewed for 2012 and we delivered same schedule of service in 2012.Program auto-renewed for 2013. We have no record of cancellation and as our service confirmation states, we will continue service until we are requested to discontinue. We called prior to the first visit on [redacted] 2013 and did not receive a call back to discontinue. We called prior the second visit on [redacted] 2013 and did not receive a call back to discontinue. After we deliver 2 service visits and have not received payment, we put the account on hold and begin our receivables collection process. I am writing today to inform you of the disappointing difference between our outstanding customer service received in the beginning of our communications with Weedman to the terrible experience we encountered with the Weedman Lawn Care located in [redacted] My wife and I hired Weedman after listening to a sales pitch that we were quite impressed with. We liked the promises the company made regarding the weed control and the statements made that if there were persistent problems we could contact Weedman and they would send someone out for spot treatments at any time to better control any weed problems we may experience. Your company promise "We treat your lawn as if it were our own and provide you with honest, open, communication" was encouraging to us. To begin with, these promises seemed genuine and the staff was willing to work with us around some of the other lawn care projects we had going. The one time we needed them to, they arranged their schedule of our lawn care to collaborate with our landscaping projects and our seeding schedules we had already planned and initiated. We were greatly disappointed to realize this attitude and cooperation were extremely short lived. The positive aspect shined when we decided to seed a couple areas in our lawn that were bare. We put down the seed and began watering as necessary. As the seed began to sprout, we contacted Weedman because they were scheduled to put some treatments down on the lawn and we did not want the new grass to be affected. They were more than willing to back us out a few days in their schedule to accommodate us. They were friendly and cooperative and it was pleasant dealing with them. We made the staff aware that we were quite pleased with their attitude and their efforts to take care of the problems while still working with us to create a healthy green lawn with minimal weeds. We had already received two treatments that were successful. We could see some of the weeds dying and the crabgrass did not seem to be getting too much worse. We made sure to express this to the company staff as well. It seems that after we expressed our pleasure with the company that the overall attitude plummeted. The third treatment consisted of a pH test, weed control, and grub control. As we had done previously, we went ahead and thoroughly inspected the lawn. This time there was no sign of anything having been done, but there was a sign in the yard and our normal information hanging from the door. The pH test stated we needed to add lime to our yard. This concerned us a little because we had just added 500 lbs of lime for our 10,000 SQ FT yard, which should have been more than sufficient. This data combined with the lack of withering of the weeds, made us inspect further. Another concerning thought that came to us was that my wife had been home the first two times Weedman came out and progress was evident, the third time no one was home and now we see zero evidence of any treatments having been applied. My wife at this point contacted Weedman to voice these concerns. She spoke with a woman, that unfortunately we neglected to get a name, but we let her know we had some ground cover weeds and some other weeds that were growing as well as a lot of crabgrass spreading. We expressed concern that the crabgrass was beginning to take over and that we had not even seen these other weeds before. A request was made by my wife to come back to our residence and tackle these issues. We also addressed the fact that the last treatment did not seem to be doing anything at all. The weeds were not withering, turning brown, or dying. We questioned as to whether the job had actually been completed. We were assured they did do the treatment and someone would be at our residence within 7-10 days and then every two weeks someone would come out to tackle our aggressive weeds. We thought this was a bit long but we agreed. Then my wife proceeded to ask about the grub control used. In the past we had seen a pellet treatment used so we asked if Weedman used this same treatment. The answer originally given was yes. Then the woman asked if we had used another weed company in the past and my wife informed her that we had in past years but were impressed with the commercials for Weedman which is what caused us to call and try someone new. My wife reiterated that Weedman has answered questions, provided information, and has held up to their promises so far. At this point the woman asked my wife to hold so she could double check her answer regarding the grub control. She returned to the phone with a different answer. She stated that the treatment used is actually a liquid. This information made us feel a little better because we had noticed zero pellets on the lawn upon our inspection. Next the employee and my wife reviewed the information that someone would be out in 7-10 days to spot treat the problem areas and then would continue to send someone out every two weeks following to attack the aggressive weeds. However, on the 11th days my wife had to call back because no one had been to our house as promised. This next conversation was disturbing. The manager [redacted] was so rude and condescending, that it resulted in the termination of our service. My wife called to question why no one had come out to spot treat our yard and was told that unfortunately it was extremely hot and the employees were tired. She stated the company was shutting down early for the next couple days to give the guys a break and had to push us off till the following week. Nobody bothered to call us to let us know this. My wife was offended by this explanation a little because all she could think was that she and I work every day and it is hot for us as well, but we do not leave work until our job is done. I understand that the employees are tired and hot due to the circumstances and I feel for them, however, a simple phone call could have resolved this. The first 6 days the heat was not to the extent it got to in the last 4 days of the 7-10 promised. Weedman was aware of our having a very aggressive ground cover problem and we believe that the time frame given was too long to begin with. In that time period, with high heat , it provided a perfect time frame and atmosphere for those weeds to flourish and take over. Had someone been out in 2-4 days the outcome could have been very different. Does the customer not deserve a phone call to let them know that no one will be coming out? My wife then stated that it has now been 11 days from the initial conversation promising 7-10 days. The end of the following week would not suffice and something else needed to be worked out. [redacted] then went on to explain that these severely hot days were not great temperatures for application, and my wife pointed out that it was unfortunate because hot dry days are the perfect temperatures for the crabgrass and other weeds to flourish. At this point the crabgrass and ground cover is spreading further and we were in fear of it really taking over our lawn. [redacted] my wife, explained to [redacted] that we were watering regularly, and our lawn was green, but the weeds were wreaking havoc on the turf. [redacted] then offered to get them out there the beginning of the following week. At this point we were looking at 13 days with no treatment. What happened to coming out right away to spot treat if there were aggressive weeds? [redacted] continued on to explain the way we were watering was not correct and they did not recommend watering in the evening to their customers. To this [redacted] replied that we realize this but with the dry hot temperatures this seems to be working pretty well for us. [redacted] also explained to [redacted] that I am knowledgeable about lawns and the procedures and the times in which to do things but unfortunately am unable to care for it properly due to my long work days and long work weeks. She then mentioned the grub care again, and reiterated that nothing was happening with our weeds until I had gone out there and applied my own weed control. It was not until that point that we saw any withering or dying. [redacted] said to [redacted] that we firmly believe no treatment was applied the day it was stated the process had been completed. [redacted] at this point got very nasty and stated that "we can sit and hash this out all day but it won't change anything". She reminded my wife someone would be out the beginning of the next week to spot treat and reminded her once again that the company had to shut down early a couple days, the guys were hot and tired, and then stated the weeds would die in winter anyway and then could be prevented from growing in the spring. If this is the case, why are we paying anyone to treat our lawn in the mean time? Should we let the weeds take over all spring, summer, and fall because they will die in the winter? She treated my wife like she was stupid and then got rude just because my wife was firm about our belief the guys did not actually treat our lawn, but instead just wrote down that they did. Once [redacted] spoke with such a nasty attitude to my wife, [redacted] then thanked her and [redacted] said very haughtily "you're welcome" and hung up the phone. She did not say good bye, she was not polite in any way, and she made my wife quite upset after because of the way she had been treated. After the conversation, my wife called me and let me know how she was treated and how no explanation was provided, nor any suggestions to rectify the situation, were given other than to send them out again. But if the company is not completing the job then why do we want them to keep coming out? And if this is the way the company treats its paying customers then why would anyone want to do business with them? I then called and got another nice young lady on the phone. She apologized when I stated my intent to cancel the remainder of the treatments and offered to refund the remaining amount and we would see a check the following week. However, if the third treatment was not actually laid then why should I have to pay for that? I fully believe that I am deserving of a refund of that treatment as well, since it is quite evident from the reaction of my lawn that nothing was done. I feel that Weedman has taken money for services that have not been provided and should therefore refund that one treatment cost in addition to the remaining treatments since I had paid in advance. I should only have had to pay the first two treatments because those two treatments were the only ones completed .Then to add insult to injury, the check that was promised should have arrived last week. As of [redacted] 2015 I have yet to have received the check promised. My wife called this morning and spoke with someone who said they would look into it and they disconnected her, forcing her to call back again. When she did she was informed the owner was on vacation and therefore the check had not been dealt with yet. She assured my wife the check was being processed for the lesser amount than I believe is due, and I won't receive it for yet another week. I feel as if I have been taken advantage of by Weedman's dishonest fabrication of services that were not rendered. Due to this fabrication, and my laying my trust in Weedman for them to betray that trust by not holding up their end of the bargain, I now have dig up my lawn to rid it of the overwhelming weeds. This will now take up more of my time, and energy, attempting to fix the mess Weedman created. My largest regret is believing your companies promises and deadlines, only to have my property destroyed by weeds that have engulfed my premises to the point of inability to control and now I must completely rip it all up, place top soil, overseed, fertilizer, and constant watering to correct a small problem that is now so completely out of hand, it is a disaster!Thank you for your time and attention to this matter,[redacted]Desired SettlementThis company has taken money from us as a prepay. When they messed up our lawn they offered us two applications as a refund. They completed two and they say they completed a third application. However, the evidence in our lawn that existed for the first two applications was not there for the third application. Please review this letter outlining all of the problems we have had with this company. We would like to see Weed Man Lawn Care pay for the remaining two treatments as well as the previous treatment that was never put onto our lawn.Business Response We mailed refund check to customer on [redacted]A manager spoke to Mrs on [redacted] and resolved issue. He is going to the property today [redacted] to correct issues on lawn. Customer is going to decide if they would like to continue services going forward.

Failure to Cancel Contract after noticeWe cancelled our Weed Man Service in the fall of 2014 due to unhappiness with the overall service. This [redacted] after we had cancelled the service, Weed Man came to our house; treated the law and left us a bill. On top of that, they sprayed the treatment on our garden (which they had never done before and we want to keep chemical free). We called Weed Man and they stated they had no record of our cancelling the service. We demanded that they replace our garden soil or compensate us to obtain new uncontaminated soil. They have not responded back. When we have spoken to them they insist the chemicals are "not harmful." This is unacceptable.Desired SettlementReplacement of the soil or compensation to obtain untainted soil.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted], [redacted]Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXXContact Emal[redacted]Consumer was a service customer from [redacted] to [redacted] As part of our service agreement we state that we will continue service from year to year unless told to discontinue. We did not receive a call to cancel service for 2015.After the first year of service in [redacted] the customer had the program again in [redacted] and [redacted] We mailed prepayment offers in [redacted] and [redacted] for the service years [redacted] In that offer we state that the lawn is already scheduled for service and if you would like to prepay to save, to do so by the date of the letter, otherwise we will leave the invoice at the door. And if you do not want to continue service, to please notify us. (Each year the customer opted not to take the prepay discount, but paid after each service, and was fine with the continuation of service during that time.) The customer did not notify us to cancel after receiving any one of those three letters. As is our policy, we called the customer 2 days prior to application to let them know we were coming to make the application. Our technician did not make the application until [redacted] easily giving enough time within the 2 day advance notice, and even that day to call us to cancel if they didn't want the application. Unfortunately, we were notified after the application that they didn't want the treatment, so we are forced to absorb the expense of the application. A simple phone call at any time from the first mailing in [redacted] would have stopped the service. Our technicians use deflectors on the spreader to reduce non-target application of product. We do not purposely apply product over entire garden areas. We did not cause contamination of the soil. It's unfortunate that the customer had so many opportunities to respond to our contact and now finds our service and application unacceptable. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)They are incorrect. We cancelled the service last fall. We should not be required to call multiple times to cancel the service. I really do not care if they needed to "absorb" the treatment as the service was already cancelled!!!!Our gardened was never sprayed with the chemicals on any prior occasion. We do not care if they consider the soil uncontaminated. WE DO NOT WANT ANY CHEMICALS ON THE GARDEN. The garden is clearly marked and separated with with wooden planks. They need to replace our soil ASAP. I am an attorney and will bring a small claims action against them if they do not rectify the situation. It will cost me nothing. Final Business Response As I stated, the customer did not notify us that they did not want service in 2015. I have no problem canceling service and taking the charge off the account. As customer states we never sprayed the garden in past services. The [redacted] application was a granular fertilizer with crabgrass control and was not applied to the garden. We take precautions with deflectors to direct the material to the target areas.
