Weisflog's Design Center Reviews (1)

Review: I hired weisflogs to do a project for me and the work was less than satisfactory. Following is the letter from my customer regarding weisflogs workers.

This crew was miserable. They damaged the chimney out of pure laziness. They leave crap everywhere and they damaged my floor upstairs in many places because they just drop tools left and right. They never removed the metal flashing from the chimney. They broke every lightbulb that was upstairs and simply left the glass on the ground. They destroyed every single downspout extension I have on my house by stepping on them. Their tarp and miscellaneous wood debris is still in my driveway. Their work van left oil stains all over the place. They would simply poor out sodas in my driveway daily that would leave sticky spots that needed to be cleaned. Even just this past Wednesday when the guy put the special screws in he poured something out. When I painted houses I wouldn't even let my workers put their sodas down on customer walkways and driveways for fear it might get knocked over, let alone allow them to intentionally pour it out.Desired Settlement: I was shorted $3100 due to weisflogs lack of professionalism and poor work. I would like to be credited back the amount in full.

Response:

In August of 2014, [redacted] of Woodland Remodeling hired our company Weisflogs Design Center to subcontract demo and rough carpentry for a customer of theirs. He came to us in a time when he couldn’t get anyone else to complete the project and we agreed to help him. We completed the project during a time Dumpsters were provided by Woodland Remodeling. Weisflogs was only hired as a subcontractor for the project and our part was finished in October. As the sub-contractor for this project we do not know what other companies or people had access to the project site or were at the project site during the time we performed our services. Based on our agreement with Woodland Remodeling, all materials and approved design details were to be provided at the time of starting the project. Many items were not on site at the time of the beginning the project and our company had to pull off and return multiple times which was not part of the agreement yet, we did not charge extra. Payment for job completion was received 12/1/14. There was then an invoice for additional framing and header work on 12/18/14. We sent several notices for this final payment of $385.00, but it was not until 5/19/15 that we received an email from [redacted] saying that his customer was unhappy and that was why he was holding the payment. In his email he stated “this is part of the reason I (Woodland Remodeling) haven’t been paid in full yet” he said the customer is was being unrealistic over a couple minor details and will end up paying Woodland Remodeling and that we would then get paid for our invoice. We agreed to this even though our agreement was with Woodland Remodeling and not with his client. Woodland Remodeling did not give our company the right to cure with any issues that the customer supposedly came up well after our part of the project was completed. It was Woodland Remodeling that had the contract and contact with the customer. Eventually, the balance of $385 was paid in order to get our company to release delivery of another order for a different client of his. Unfortunately, the payment we received for this order was for a check that was returned for insufficient funds. It is our feeling that Woodland Remodeling is making this complaint because they did not get paid in full by their original customer and because they still owe us $2,200.00 for a returned check on cabinets that they bought from us for a different project. Our company had continued to do other projects for Woodland Remodeling well after this supposed issue. It was only after continued delayed payments from [redacted] Pickerall that our company decided no longer to do business with Woodland Remodeling. He has since informed us that we will need to take him to court for the remaining unpaid invoice and insufficient funds reimbursement. Our company has been in business for almost 10 years now and has had no complaints to the Revdex.com or through the Wisconsin Court system. We are not sure the same can be said for Woodland Remodeling/[redacted] Pickerall! Please let us know if you have any other questions and you are welcome to visit us at our design center in Pewaukee. Sincerely, [redacted], owner
