I called last August for a leak in my roof and it took Art 3 months to come out after I left a deposit when they asked for it. I had to call every few day and Barbara would tell me Art will be out to fix the leak. At the end of April I notice it was still leaking in the same two spots called again and was told that it was a different leak and they will be out and Art was no longer with them. Was told that I had to pay again for someone to come out even though it was in the same spot leaking. It took a little over a month for George to come out and said it was all fixed but now the third time it’s still leaking and George for over a week has said he will be out and never came. . It’s now leaking in the bedroom and damaged the ceiling tile and my dresser. Please don’t call these people to work on your house.

Response:

December 10, 2014Dear [redacted] contacted Weisser Homes, Inc. (WHI) in August of 2014. She complained that the tub and surround we had installed for her in 2011 was defective (Installed 11/9/11-11/10/11 and 11/16). She stated that the surround had become discolored over time. Secondly, she informed us that now she had mold issue as a result of the defective materials. We discovered after visiting her home on 8/20/14 that she was using large quantities of [redacted] to clean the tub and surround. We informed her that this was too abrasive a cleaner to be using on this type of surface and that this was the cause for the discoloration. The sticker had been left on the surround when it was initially installed in 2011. This sticker provided the proper cleaning instructions. In addition, it was found that [redacted] had installed a large oversized showerhead. This particular head was attached to a retractable hose. She had installed this herself after WHI had completed the tube, surround, and faucet install in 2011. The showerhead was very heavy and needed the proper support behind the drywall to ensure that the pipes and fittings were not damaged over time with regular use. The fitting had cracked behind the wall causing a leak. Water damage had occurred over time as a result of this leak.WHI repaired the leak on 9/5/2014 even thought [redacted] had not paid us in full for the work we had completed in 2011; $626.95 was still owed. The drywall in the bedroom behind the shower was opened up to assess the leak. It was found that there were no supports in place for the showerhead that she had installed. It was only being held in place by drywall alone. A board was installed across the studs with metal brackets to provide support for the showerhead. The floor was repaired as well as it had become soft over time as a result of the leak. There was minimal mold present. All areas that showed any signs of mold were treated with "[redacted]". We supplied her with a new surround free of charge as she refused to accept that the use of [redacted] had caused the discoloration in the surround.WHI billed [redacted] for the repairs that were completed on 9/5/14; as Weisser Homes, Inc. was not at fault for the leak and water damaged that ensued. To date we have not been paid for this repair ($533.85) nor the remainder of the install completed in 2011 ($626.95).Sincerely,Scott W. President

Review: My home was purchased a year ago in August 2013, we ran into many delays with permitting and zoning etc. The home was finally set in February of 2014 (it is a modular home) I allowed for excess time due to the inclement weather that was experienced during this past winter season, however it took several months of my constant calling, emailing and begging for home to be complete. All the while I was paying for interest on loans and temporary housing. Weisser Homes received their money in full in February and in my option they were done. I have sent numerous emails, calls etc trying to get them to make the repairs from the horrible, unprofessional and down right disgusting way my home was delivered. I can furnish you with photos, statements from Subcontractors etc. Weisser Homes continues to give me one excuse after another and never follows through with repairs needed. My new home had to have all new siding, needs a new roof, leaks, electric is not available in all of the house, broken glass in windows, carpets were torn back and left uncovered to be absolutely destroyed to the point a "fire" recovery company actually had to try and clean them to a livable state. The plumbing leaks and has caused additional damage to my ceilings and all of this has yet to be addressed by Weisser Homes. They keep claiming they will fix it all and restore my home that I thought I was buying. They gave me a substantial discount on model home that was originally built in 2006 but has never been lived in. They delivered it dropped it off in shambles and left for months and it is now July and the home is still a mess because I refuse to continue to improve it under it's current conditions.Desired Settlement: I want Weisser Homes to make good on there promise to deliver my home as expected, I want them to make the repairs and I want them done immediately. The stress and additional expense this has cost me has been astronomical as well as, time away from my business and my family.

Response:

Weisser Homes, Inc. (WHI) understands that there is

always two sides to a story and we would like to explain the timeline for the modular sample home that

[redacted] has purchased from WHI. The initial deposit was given to WHI on 2-26-13 to start the

process of obtaining building permits and construction financing. This process

took 11 months

to complete before the construction on his building lot even began. WHI started the construction process for

this home in

January of 2014. The foundation was installed at this time. This past winter had been a record year for bad

weather and snow with extremely low temperatures; making it

difficult to disassemble the home on our sample lot to be placed on the

foundation. On 1/31/14, we finally had a break in the weather to take this home apart at our display center, wrap it, deliver, and

reassemble it. The house was paid for and a

temporary use and occupancy permit was issued on 4-11-14 (approximately 3

months 12 days after its installation). We are still waiting for

a permanent U&O for this house, as [redacted] was to complete other work on the house himself to pass for his

U&O. This

display home was sold to [redacted] for a substantial discount as he has

stated in his complaint. He received a discount of approximately $60,000.00. The repairs that were of concern included

the following: The siding on the home

didn’t match. WHI replaced the siding on 3 sides of this home to [redacted]'s satisfaction. The roof leaks occurred within the

first week after we set the home and were repaired immediately.

The electric issue was found to be a result of the breaker box being off. The carpet was

professionally cleaned and repaired by our carpet sub-contractor who also does

fire clean up. The plumbing leak that was found was as a result of the

condensation from the upper heating and air conditioning system. The ceiling is

being repaired. The window has been ordered and will be available to be picked

up from the glass company this coming week. We

have gotten a few calls from [redacted] in the past regarding

the issues addressed in this letter. Our Sales and Service departments have

returned his calls with no return calls for weeks from [redacted]. WHI

had another complaint from [redacted] that has not been addressed in his

complaint with you. When we reinstalled his roof shingles this winter, we had

to replace some of the shingles as they were damaged. These replacement

shingles did not match in color. The replacement shingles that were purchased

by WHI to complete the roof were the exact same brand and color of the shingles

that were already on the home. However, the shingles that were on the home had

faded over time while sitting on our sales lot. We are arranging with a roof

sub-contractor to complete this repair. In the process, [redacted] has asked

that we replace his shingles with a lifetime shingle. The shingle that is on the house is a 20-year

shingle. If he would like to upgrade his shingle with this type of shingle, WHI

would like him purchase these upgraded shingles and WHI will cover the labor to

install them. WHI

has been in business for over 52 Years and has delivered thousands of homes.

When a substantial discount is given on a sample home it is understood from

both party’s that there are certain items on the home that have some wear thus

the discount. WHI strives to make every effort to correct these problems. As

you can see, we completed this house in adverse conditions and made this home

livable for [redacted] in a relatively short time to accommodate his interest

and housing needs. Thank

you for your attention to this matter.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

Review: We purchased a sample mobile/ modular home " brand new" from WEISSER homes about 18 months ago and have been complaining of issues with my carpets since being in my home for about 9 months. I've complained to the house manufacturer ( [redacted] ) and through my sales agent Kathy F[redacted] countless less times and while everyone who has viewed my carpets from the house manufacturing company ([redacted]) to the carpet inspector (who then noted otherwise in a report.) has said there are issues with my carpets no one wants to take responsibility for them. They have been showing traffic patterns ( turning a lighter shade of the carpet color and turning white especially in bright light in some areas) since I've had been in home for about 7 months. They been seamed together terribly during installation (and because was a model home house had been taken apart and put back together several times opening and closing seam of carpet ) to where there seems were coming apart and are horrendously noticeable ([redacted] tried to fix seem back in Feburary but didn’t originally install the carpet). I have made several complaints to my sales agent KATHY F[redacted] at Weisser homes and to [redacted] carpets. When [redacted] carpets sent Weisser my report three months after inspecting the carpets they told me it was normal wear, however, I live in a house with two adults no small children and don't believe this to be true if the carpet wasn't faulty. I don't think the carpets should show these issues in such a short time frame. After writing to [redacted] carpets in mid May to re evaluate my carpets as per my Weisser rep Kathy F[redacted] , Kathy said either way she would help my rectify my carpet situation. [redacted] has since sent me a letter stating I needed to cut an area of my carpet out sent out to be sent to their lab for testing. I've dropped off this letter to Weisser homes to be given to my rep Kathy F[redacted] asking her what I should do since I don't think I can cut out a piece of my carpet. I now I can't get any response from Weisser after countless voice mails to Kathy F[redacted] . I finally left a message yesterday asking for help and basically asking if I was being blown off and if they have no intention of providing me with any help . I just want them to stop ignoring me because this situation has gone on long enough. I spent a lot of money for my house and my carpets are inadequate. Even though many have agreed with me ([redacted] manufacturing noted in a report to Weisser homes back in February 2014 which prompt the carpet inspection in the 1st place) no one wants to shoulder any blame for my inferior carpets or help me rectify the situation to replace the carpets. I am very frustrated with Weisser homes and feel they have abandoned me and won't return my phone calls . I just called Kathy F[redacted] (7/29/14 11:10am) and was told she was with a customer so I left another voice mail ( I am a customer too). I am not trying to get something for nothing. I don't expect new carpets totally free but I do expect them to stand behind the products that they install and listen to a customers concerns. Before submitting this complaint to the Revdex.com, my husband John went over in person to Wesser Homes to give it one last try to resolve this issue on July 29, 2014 at 12noon. He spoke with Kathy F[redacted] and she told him she would give me a call shortly, She called me within a few minutes and when I questioned her about ignoring my phone calls & messages she told me she was on vacation ,but I stressed that I’ve left several messages a week over the past several weeks with no response. She told me she would “once” again help us with our situation and that she knew the right people to contact and ask if I’d be at this number for the rest of today because she was making some calls and would get back to me shortly. That was over a week ago and I still haven’t heard anything back from Weisser Homes or Kathy F[redacted]. Can you please help me resolve this issue I am a very frustrated and disappointed customer.Desired Settlement: replacement of defective carpet

Response:

I received this complaint while on vacation last week. when I returned I have spoken with [redacted] homes service department to come to some resolve with this matter. the service manager from [redacted] homes was terminated and our new contact there did not follow up. I have spoken with them and we have come up with a solution. A [redacted] carpet rep. has been to this home and has made a contradictory report from what was told to the [redacted]. Weisser homes has made the agreement with [redacted] Homes the manufacture of this factory Built home to have them supply new carpet in the effected area and Weisser homes will have it installed. Weisser homes will have our carpet installer (Bill B[redacted]) contact the [redacted]'s to measure this carpet and give the sizes to [redacted] homes for them to supply this carpet. the [redacted]'s will need to come by the Weisser homes office and select a different carpet color for this repair cause the carpet that is in the home now has been discontinued. if this is acceptable please contact me so I may schedule this work to be done. my number at the Trevose office is ###-###-####

Response:

Good afternoon Revdex.com;I spoke with Scott W[redacted] today regarding my carpet issue. He stated that some one from Weisser Homes will be contacting me either today (8/25/14) or tomorrow Tuesday (8/26/14) to come out and measure my house for NEW carpets. Since it's already after 5:00pm & I haven't heard from the carpet person today I really hope to hear from him tomorrow (8/26/14). I left Mr. Weisser a message this afternoon Stating while we are eager to resolve our carpeting issue and welcome new carpets, the new carpets need to be a different color then what is currently in my home now so that the dye issue (carpet losing it's color) doesn't happen again since they will be from the same manufacturer ([redacted] carpets). I will keep you updated with any progress between Weisser Homes and myself. Again THANK YOU So much for ALL your help. If not for the Revdex.com, I know Wessier Homes would have never contacted me to try to resolve this issue. Please DO NOT close my case id# [redacted] until it's totally resolved and I have my new carpets. I have been down the road with Weisser Homes before and want to make sure they keep up their end and follow through with replacing my carpets.Sincerely,

Response:

We have been in contact with [redacted]. [redacted]. We have come to an agreement that the home manufacturer, [redacted] Homes, will supply new carpet throughout her home. Weisser Homes will install it. The [redacted]'s have decided to upgrade the carpet to a higher grade and have chosen a different color. They are aware that the difference in price will be their responsibility and have agreed to pay for the upgrade. It is unfortunate that the carpet manufacturer, [redacted] Carpet, was un-willing to resolve this issue in relation to the defect of their product. Weisser Homes and [redacted] Homes is committed to customer satisfaction and is performing the work. The carpet is due to arrive the week of September 22nd. Our installer will contact the [redacted]'s to schedule.
