I bought a car for Wendell Auto Brokers and in less that 3 weeks the car was in the repair shop needing $2300 worth of repairs. The mechanic informed us that the engine had overheated and the head gasket had cracked, so the coolant in the car had been pumping into the engine mixing with the oil. He also said that this had been going on a lot longer than the three weeks I had it. The oil pump also had to be replaced as well due to the damages. A car should not need that much work within less than 30 days of buying it.Desired SettlementThe repair cost should be refunded to us by the dealership.Business Response [redacted] willingly signed the following documentation:Buyers Guide AS IS- No Warranty Statement of Purchase of Non-Guaranteed Used Car Agreement Conditions of Delivery AcceptanceEverything to our dealership's knowledge was in good working order when purchased; Customer test drove vehicle before purchasing. We apologize if customer is experiencing any unforeseen problems with vehicle. We make an avid effort to ensure customer satisfaction. We highly encourage customers to purchase a vehicle protection plan to protect their vehicle in the case of an unforeseen issue arising which customer chose not to. We appreciate the customer's business. This is the first written notice we have received and so we apologize for not responding sooner. Thank You.

I bought this vehicle (my 2nd) one from them because the first one was totaled in an accident. I had the vehicle 28 days and the motor went out.I bought this vehicle being my second one from Wendell Auto Brokers after the first one was totaled in an accident. I had the truck less than a week and the head gasket went out and I paid out over $500 out of my pocket with no mention to the company. Then 2 weeks later I was on my way home and the truck just stopped and I had it towed home. I had a mechanic to come out and put a starter on, once it was on it cranked up but the motor made a loud noise and the mechanic told me the motor was blowed up and thats why it cut off with me. So I called the Wendell Auto Brokers and they told me to have the vehicle towed to them and that they would finance any charges for mechanical work on the truck. When they found out that the motor was gone that they told me because I had the truck less than 30 days that they couldn't finance but I had a loan with them on my previous vehicle for a year before it was in an accident. So now they refuse to help me with fixing the truck and I have no vehicle to drive. They know this and dont care. The truck was to old to get an extended warranty because it was a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban. Please help me if I buy another vehicle and let this one go back they will put a repo on my credit along with the charges to fix it. PLEASE HELP ME,Desired SettlementI bought this vehicle from Wendell Auto Brokers being my 2nd one from them because the 1st vehicle was in an accident and was totaled. I had this vehicle a [redacted] for less than a week and had to have it towed because the head gasket blowed up. I paid out of pocket over $500 to fix it and I never asked them to help me with it. Then less than 2 weeks after that the vehicle just cut off on me on my way home with my 4 children in it. So I had a mechanic come out and put the starter on which was another $200, but when we cranked the truck up it made a awful noise and the mechanic told me that the motor was blowed up. So I called Wendell Auto Brokers and [redacted] the office manager told me to get the vehicle towed to them which was $275 and that they would finance the mechanical problems, they would add it on to the vehicle loan. Once the place that does their work said it needed a new motor, [redacted] at Wendell Auto Brokers said that they couldn't finance the repairs because I hadn't had the truck long enough. My point exactly. I had the 1st vehicle for a year before it was involved in an accident. So [redacted] would not honor her agreement she gave me over the phone. So now if I buy another vehicle somewhere else and they will put this on my credit along with the repair cost that they want finance that said the would before I had it towed that far. I need help this is not good business practice and its very unfair the way they are treating after all the money I have put out of my pocket before this. I know the lemon doesn't apply to used vehicles but lying to someone and not honoring your oral agreement with someone is. Because I could of probably had someone around here to do it for a lot cheaper let alone still have to pay for the vehicle and a rental till I can figure out what to do. I am on a limited income with a disabled child and do not have $2500 sitting around to buy a motor and they straight up lied to me. PLEASE HELP ME.Business Response [redacted] bought a as is used car with no warranty. She test drove the vehicle and found it free of mechanical defects. [redacted] was offered an extended warranty and declined such coverage. She signed a warranty decline. We offer every customer an extended warranty in case there is a mechanical breakdown. Customer denied such coverage. We apologize the customer has experienced hardship.

A few months ago I was researching a particular car; I found one at Wendell auto brokers in Wendell, NC , un be nost to me I didn't realize that purchasing this care from these people would been a nightmare from hell. I had not so great credit and they said it doesn't matter it's the ability to pay. I got the car they said I needed to pay every week and I told them I could not, because I only got paid bi-weekly. [redacted] who acted as the boss of the place, said it was okay if I paid that way. the deal was as long as it got paid within that month. I said, that was great. during that time of my payments I never got a payment book or receipts for my money sent/paid. they always said bring the cash to the office which was to far from where I lived. I finally got a PO box to send the payment. The second problem I have is I gave them 2500.00 for a down payment, the car was initially, 12,000, but it went up several times. the car went from 11,000 to 18,000 even with my 2500.00 down payment. where did that money go( in their pockets)? also the car has a navigation system in the dash, but as I got ready to take the car I found out the Nav. system didn't w they sell the bill of goods, "it doesn't work, just take it to [redacted] etc. and get them to just clean it. (the car had a disc in the trunk) this was another reason why I wanted the car. [redacted], said, she would pay me if I got the disc cleaned or give me 100.00 credit. within 30 days, the time ran out and I could not find no one to do it not even their mechanic. Then she told me she would get me a little navigation system to put in the car. I never got nothing because time ran out.. the third problem is the payment system, they only took cash. my sister called them to verify what types of payments they were so vague, I couldn't understand. soon as I make one payment they start calling me or sending nasty emails within the next week. I would call them for mercy, and they'd just say we need the payment today or give us the car back. [redacted] ...Product_Or_Service: CarDesired SettlementI would like the settlement to be a payment booklet which they don't give, (how do I know where my money is going)? secondly, I want the navigation system working like they told me they would do, or the money to pay for a navigation systemthird, stop harassing me before the month is over (they are calling me before month end). I want a tally sheet of my payments of where they went, especially that 2500. ( the car cost did not go down it went up about 4/5000 dollars.) my dad gave me that moneyBusiness Response We have a payment booklet waiting for pick up in the office. Customer can come by anytime during normal business hours to pick up book. A receipt is given to customer for each payment received which includes the remaining balance. We will be more than happy to print out the customer a payment history so that she can see where all monies have gone. Customer read and agreed to the terms and conditions of the Retail Installment Contract & Security Agreement Simple Interest. Customer signed and received a copy of such contract. Contract clearly states: Number of Payments = 195Amount of Payments = $95.00 When Payments are Due = Weekly starting 09/19/2014It is the customer's option to pay for multiple weeks at the time but must do so in advance not past due. Customer will not receive collections phone calls if they make payments on time. Collection calls are a courtesy to customer to prevent further action on account. As stated in the Conditions and Delivery of Acceptance, Wendell Auto Brokers agreed to credit the customer's account up to $100.00 for navigation disc. Customer had thirty days to bring in receipt to gain credit on account. Customer signed contract stating such terms. Customer failed to do so and acknowledges failure to do so in her complaint. We appreciate the customers business and look forward to resolving this matter. Consumer Response They are still calling after I make payments. I told them I can't pay weekly when the contract was reviewed a young lady just flipped the page's this is this and that is that, when I asked a question I was given a shorter version, I know nothing about cars. I took a test drive and noticed the car pulled and shook when I tried braking.I told the lady, I got no answer, I took the car for a check and the brakes are bad, pet their mechanic, my sister took the drive with me.And once again I looked for someone to service the navigation system, my brother and dad are my witnesses. Thirty days went by gas,the car had a recall they should have checked that. Now there's other problems.THEY DID NOT SAY PAY WAS DUE WEEKLY, I wouldn't have bought the car.I can't go to that place at will, it's too far I needed the navigation. Why can't I get stuff mailed to me? I'm not from north Carolina. Where did my 2500.00 go towards? I want to get navigation the [redacted] dealer said they need 158 too diagnose. Sincerely[redacted]

I just wanted to say Wendell Auto Brokers were the worse people to deal with, as I said they harassed my friends and asked very personal questions which have nothing to do with a loan. If they wanted all the personal info they should have said what the references meant. I would never recommend them for car sales to anyone. I have been in the Car and Motorcycle business for 25 years and retail for 30. If I had the personality and business sense they have I would not have been employed at all. For them to call me up and say I do not have enough people in this area to provide as a reference meant they did not have enough people to call for a repo. WOW good business deals. Don't do any financing at all if that is your problem.Desired SettlementFor the company never to contact anyone on my reference list and discard my personal information. Really hate having a company like them with all my personal info.Business Response We do not verify any information except that provided by the customer. We apologize the customer was not approved for financing. The application is no longer active.
