note that ** has previously written two malicious reviews (first on May 8th and again on May 11th, when the first review was removed) on “Yelp” about this incident, which were both immediately removed by Yelp because they contained “false statements, foul language and misleading information” about a situation which she herself—solely caused. Someone had previously purchased a gift card for her from China Massage Therapy-Chico (a company which [redacted] also owns, has a separate business license for, and which has a separate website with its exact address and telephone number) and gave it to ** as a gift. ** did not read the name of the massage company correctly and, by her own admission, nor did she take notice of the back of the gift card or the business card which was inserted, both of which contained our correct address and telephone number. In that regard, ** went to... China Massage, which has an outdoor business sign saying only “China Massage”, but which also has an online website displayed as “China Massage Therapy” and “China Massage Therapy Clinic” (these are competitor companies under the same ownership) and, obviously, without showing her gift card in advance—received their massage. When asked to pay, ** displayed our gift card and was promptly told she was at the wrong place and had to pay! For your information, and we explained this MC...in Chico, there are six businesses advertising the words “China Massage”... China Massage (has a valid “Fictitious Business Name Statement” – FBNS), China Massage Therapy (has no recorded FBNS on file) and China Massage Therapy Clinic (has no recorded FBNS’s on file) at two locations (all under the same ownership); Touch of China Massage Chico (has no recorded FBNS’s on file and is also under different ownership) and China Massage Therapy—Chico and China Massage Chico (both of which have valid filed FBNS’s, City of Chico business licenses and are owned by [redacted] at the same location)... overall, this is very confusing to anyone—but not of our doing! Later, ** came to China Massage Therapy—Chico and [redacted]’s Massage at the correct address and demanded that she be paid in “cash” for her gift card... stating that she had been purposefully deceived. We explained that we sorry that she had gone to the wrong place... however, we do not allow any person, regardless of their circumstances or error, who did not purchase the gift card to “receive someone else’s cash for it” and, explaining further that her receiving cash back was not the purpose of a “gift card”. She continued to demand “cash!”, and when told that under no circumstances, would we return money that she did not pay, she posted her “reviews”... first on Yelp and then later, the formal “complaint” with you, the Revdex.com. While at [redacted], ** was rude, threatened to call the Revdex.com and consumer affairs... and when that didn’t work, used loud and offensive language, disrupting our customers—and was finally asked to please leave. Based upon the actual facts and those contained within her own submission to you, MC’s complaint has been falsely given, as with Yelp... she, of her own doing, inadvertently phoned and went to the wrong business!. In the text her own complaint to you... ** states, “I made an appointment to get a massage”, but where did she find the telephone number to call, and she had to have called in order to make an appointment, as no one offers online website appointments? Further on in her complaint, she then states that after her massage at China Massage, “I called the phone number on the back (that would be the “back” of our gift card which does have our phone number there in plain sight), which she had mistakenly overlooked... all of which—is clearly the result of errors on her part. Further, she states in her complaint, “They said that it was not there problem.”, meaning [redacted]’s. More in fact, it was personally stated by me on her visit that day: “We are very sorry that you went to the wrong place of business and had not called the phone number on the back of our card you received—first. If you had shown your gift card to China Massage before you received your massage, they would have told you that it was not their gift card; and your error, in doing so, was not a problem we would solve by giving you the cash for a gift card that you did not purchase. If you would like to make an appointment for your massage, we will be happy to provide it at any time and date of your choosing.” Obviously, she feels that her former reviews posted on Yelp and the complaint filed with you will further her purposes to “get even”—as she stated, when walking out the door. In this regard... we respectfully request that, based on this information, you withhold it from being shown on [redacted]’s Massage as a bona fide complaint. If you have any further questions and/or require additional information, please telephone me at your convenience... and Thank you!, in advance, for your kind attention to this matter. Respectfully submitted, [redacted] Business Manager ###-###-#### — Direct

Review: I received a gift certificaten card that said CHINA MASSAGE THERAPY CHICO on the front if it. So I made an appointment to get a massage. I went to the previously named business and got my massage. Gave them the card and they said it was not theres and had to pay cash. I called the phone number on the back and was told it was for [redacted] massage. I went over to [redacted] massage to get money back and they said they could do nothing for me but I could use it at there establishment. I told them I had gone to the the place that is named on the card and had already received my massage. I asked why they had someone else's name on the card. They said that it was not there problem. I would have used it at [redacted] if I had known it was for them and not for the business name on the giftcard. Seems to be some shady business.Desired Settlement: I would like the $58 I had to pay cash for

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

I was never asked for and identification so that is a lie. Also if they own both business why does the gift card say the name of the other businesses name on it and why would they not take it? The people wanted to hear nothing I had to say. This was not my falt. I went to the name of the business named on the card. I did not read it wrong. They have an incorrect name on there gift card.
